Q: a goblin supporting another goblin whom Gandolf has charged is not charging a terrifying model ( no base contact), just as a goblin shooting a terrifying model requires no courage check?

turn 3: G. can charge grinner, but not from arround back, once G. enters grinner's control zone G. must move directly into base contact

You can move within the control zone as long as you have enough movement and end your move in base contact. It's on Page 22 in the rulebook in example 6,
