As a millennial from America, your judgements on Qdoba vs Chipotle is hilarious. Wait til you get to the Midwest and see Pancheros (there is a big Hispanic / Mexican heritage that flows up through the middle of the us ❤)
Welcome back! Bigger sizing in patterns is sooooo important. Growing up in the eighties was a tough time for bigger teenagers. I had just discovered knitting and wanted to knit everything but couldn’t! 😢Thank goodness we now have designers that care enough about their audience to make their creations inclusive. No one should be excluded! Knitting/ crochet is for everyone 😁Great show, Tracie I turned 54 this year too- I’m off to Frankie Grey to see if I can purchase that yarn! Great show! ❤
As someone who crocheted before I knitted, I am so happy I learned to crochet first. Imo knitting is easier than crochet. And everyone who does both, knows that the hardest part about learning the other craft is being a beginner again. So for me, if I had learned to knit first, idk if I would've pushed through being a beginner again for as long as it would've taken. That being said, even though crochet is harder, I do think it's more beginner friendly than knitting because it's so much faster, which means you see progress faster, which keeps you motivated. Also you need less tools to crochet. You get a set of crochet hooks and you can make anything. Even if you get a set of interchangeable knitting needles, there will be things you cannot make unless you get additonal cables or shortie tips etc. I love both though and think people should learn both because they have so many different uses.
What a fun surprise to hear you talk about Port Huron! I’m from the area and that’s where we went shopping for all the things. Also grew up crossing the bridge to Ontario for vacations. Small world.
Thank you for becoming inclusive to crochet. I’ve been a hooker all my life. TH-cam recommended your podcast because of your “granny square” focus. I purchased your Hatvents to start dabbling in knitting. You sisters are awesome.
A Little Life is an astounding read, but be prepared to sob. Thank you so much for the gorgeous items you sent me for winning the raglanalong! And it actually arrived on my birthday. I can't even tell you how much your gift boosted my day.
Yay for Crochet ❤❤❤ Totally in love with the lil granny square socks ... I've crocheted bed socks but looking forward to learning to knit so i can make some socks! Love you girls you're so much fun!!!
Hi Ladies, lovely to see you back refreshed. I have just returned too after taking a mental health break. Started by changing the name of my channel and going to be new things happening too. Bought the Yarnologie book. Every thing today was awesome. I hope you have a fabulous time at the festival ❤
I’m crocheting a granny square mini dress for my daughter, over 200 squares. I’m 65 and have been crocheting for 58 years. I just started knitting, but I have made 2 baby cardigans.
Lovely to see you both back and you both look so well. I know you are both big hearted and caring people and would never knowingly offend anybody however I have to point out that the word 'spastic' is a derogative term in the UK.
OMGOSH!!!! I love you guys ;) I'm in Ontario and have a bestie in Edmonton. Thanks for a nice long cheery video to sit back and knit to... I'm guessing you go live each week re: your description. I got some great ideas and tips watching, and lots of chuckles. Thanks again, hugs - Sunshine
Oh we love Qdoba! Lived in Port Huron right by the bridge…totally miss the area. We used to go to Point Edward/Sarnia all the time. I’m a crocheter that knits so I love hearing more about crochet from you. Love your podcast….
So much fun, glad you’re back from vacation - I missed you two. Traci, I can so relate to “suck my soul” when it comes to one by one ribbing , or a seed stitch border :O). Now I’m inspired to try a Granny Square so I can make my own bag - would love a sunflower pattern. You two are the best !!
OMG. I’m 73 and I’ve just fallen down the crochet rabbit hole! I started watching It is a Sarah podcast, and she has such a love for the granny square that it is contagious. I feel that a crochet epidemic has begun and I’m loving it. Thanks for all the book recommendations! 😅
I am SO HAPPY YOU TWO ARE BACK! I missed you! Love everything you shared. It has been 90-100 every single day in beautiful sunny hot Florida for weeks. I love summer but I am ready for fall!
Hi there! I saw you today at Flock and by the time I had drummed up the courage to say hi I had missed my opportunity! I watch you both all the time, live near Seattle but originally from Manitoba! Tracie you were wearing your misurina and I had already bought the same yarn to copy you! Hand surgery 8 weeks ago so just staring to knit again and knee replacement (revision) 2 weeks ago so not too much knitting as of yet. If you saw a woman with a cane stalking you that was me! Hope you enjoy Seattle!
So glad you're back! Regarding the yarn used for Jodi's striped v-neck. What was it? I know you said Juniper Moon but I could find anything that was linen& silk. Thanks! 😊
also you can walk from ferry in Kingston to Lamb And Kid it's very close. La Mercerie is several blocks down, but doable. Many very cute shops in between those two yarn shops.
“A Little Life” is a book that stayed with me emotionally for months and I could not read for a while because reading this story is an experience, not just a read. So moving and deeply touching. I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts and experience of it.
Love the episode! I have wanted to jump on the crochet wagon after knitting for a lot of years. Question though…should I pick a superwash wool or wool acrylic blend? Any yarn suggestions?
As far as being size inclusive, it’s not near as much about the math involved as it is to find testers for the larger sizes. At least it’s something I really struggle with and hate to put out a pattern that hasn’t been fully tested.
I work in Detroit so you saying new restaurant Q'Doba is so funny. I first went to a Q'Doba like 15 years ago. But for real, Q'Doba is way better than Chipotle and I will die on this hill. 😅😅😅
JODEEEE!!!! Was that knitting group under the bridge with Noelle and Kelly????? (Knits n Pieces) Knit Chat Cafe podcast???? You would have probably had a fun time. So glad you had a safe trip and fun time away and WHAT? Kudos from the other side of Michigan for getting on the laundry.🧶
I saw that someone commented on the live broadcast that they use the cable cast on and gives a very similar look as the tubular cast on. I assume they meant alternate cable cast on (K1P1) for a one by one rib. It is much easier to do and it always looks great. I also do the alternate cable cast off. It is a little fussy (not near as much as a tubular cast off) and it too is much easier than the tubular cast off and looks great every time. I do think they look as good or better than a tubular cast on and cast off.
I just love you girls and love the socks. May I ask what brand of sock machine do you have and how do you feel about it. I’m thinking of buying one so I would love to know how y’all feel about the one you have. Thank you guys for all your hard work. ❤
Please take this the way I intend it, just making a suggestion. Maybe part of one's knitting journey can be learning how to size grade patterns, then no pattern would be off limits to them?
I unexpectedly loved Barbie but honestly, it put me in a depressive funk for a couple of days. It’s such a layered, complicated film with a surface level of extreme humor. So hard to describe.
"Tragic" is an understatement. Has anybody else read this book and kind of laughed when Tracy said, "oh, I love it already"? 😅 Be prepared. It's the most beautiful writing I've ever read, but the most disgusting content.
Hi Ladies, I might be able to make the flock festival after all. Hopefully I can by a ticket from someone! Or wait in line to get in. I just want to warn you though that it is Seafair weekend here in Seattle so it maybe a little crazy in town with Fleet Week, BlueAngles Fly overs and Hydroplane races. Should be a wonderful weekend though! I hope I get the chance to say Hello. I have been with you both since the beginning 🧶
As a millennial from America, your judgements on Qdoba vs Chipotle is hilarious. Wait til you get to the Midwest and see Pancheros (there is a big Hispanic / Mexican heritage that flows up through the middle of the us ❤)
Girls. Tunisian crochet is SO fun and the patterns are so beautiful. I hope you do learn it.

I’m a crocheter, but knit vlog watcher. Thanks for the crochet love. It’s NOT a second class art just because it’s accessible.
What a fun surprise to hear you talk about Port Huron! I’m from the area and that’s where we went shopping for all the things. Also grew up crossing the bridge to Ontario for vacations. Small world.

I've missed your weekly podcasts! Welcome back xxx🎉 Angel fluff😂 I need you in my life!

Happy to have you back. Greetings from Whidbey Island. I have one word… FLOCK!!!❤️🧶❤️
I knit sew and crochet but it's sooo good to see you bring out crochet..love to see that. Great job ladies :)

I’m sorry the moment Jodi yelled LOOK A SQUIRREL! had me on the floor 😂
"A Little Life" is the top of my list. I've read it twice, sobbed my face off both times. I love it. It's really hard to read.
Toni is an awesome teacher! I am truly obsessed! I am a diehard crocheter.
I am SO HAPPY YOU TWO ARE BACK! I missed you! Love everything you shared. It has been 90-100 every single day in beautiful sunny hot Florida for weeks. I love summer but I am ready for fall!
Beautiful knit podcast. Loved all your projects. Have a great week
Jodie, your hair is so lovely. Who else can try on numerous beanies and her hair still looks amazing 😄.

Have a great trip, can’t wait to see what you bring back home!!
The sweater in the front of the magazine almost convinced me to crochet.
Ohhhh. I am all about sparkle. The socks are fabulous
So glad you're back! Regarding the yarn used for Jodi's striped v-neck. What was it? I know you said Juniper Moon but I could find anything that was linen& silk. Thanks! 😊
"A Little Life" is one of the saddest books I've ever read. You have to be strong to get through that one.
Great podcast ladies, as always.
also you can walk from ferry in Kingston to Lamb And Kid it's very close. La Mercerie is several blocks down, but doable. Many very cute shops in between those two yarn shops.
W🤩W! I’m totally amazed by your blue and brown mohair sweater, Tracie 👌🏽🥇
L🩵VE IT!!
I love your crochet projects! I just ordered the yarn to make the Granny rose crochet sweater . I hope to have it done by the Manitoba fibre festival
The glass exhibit in Seattle is the Chihuly Glass and Gardens. It is amazing!
Happy Birthday to you both! Can't wait to hear about the festival!
The group by the River is the Knits and Pieces podcast. They’re wonderful
First time viewer! Love your show! Love your socks!! I *WILL* be back! 😉 You've been warned!! 🤣😂
Missed you! Happy to see you!!
Wish you could have come to see us Jody!! I love every chance I get to see you guys❤
Pulled pork tacos are so good! We have those at work. I work at a residential treatment facility.
We have both restaurants here in Tri-cities Washington.
It stinks that Paul Reubens died. My kids just loved his show!
“A Little Life” is a book that stayed with me emotionally for months and I could not read for a while because reading this story is an experience, not just a read. So moving and deeply touching. I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts and experience of it.
Lovely episode, full of inspiration. Have a good trip to Seattle.
I need a Barbie Girl and Hibiscus sweater so BAD! ❤❤❤
Welcome back! Hope you have fun in Seattle! Bring your party attitude!
Daisy Farm Crafts has lots of tutorials on crochet and free patterns too! They have a gingham pattern that is cuuute!
Happy Birthday Jodi!!!! 🎉🎉
Love the episode! I have wanted to jump on the crochet wagon after knitting for a lot of years. Question though…should I pick a superwash wool or wool acrylic blend? Any yarn suggestions?
A Little Life is a fabulous book. Do make time to read or listen - the audio book is superb.
Love you ladies!! ❤
Knitting a sweater on 2mm needles and loving the journey.
OMG! Your mohair sweaters are gorgeous!
As far as being size inclusive, it’s not near as much about the math involved as it is to find testers for the larger sizes. At least it’s something I really struggle with and hate to put out a pattern that hasn’t been fully tested.
Thank you for pointing this out!
Fun podcast. Have fun in Seattle!
I work in Detroit so you saying new restaurant Q'Doba is so funny. I first went to a Q'Doba like 15 years ago.
But for real, Q'Doba is way better than Chipotle and I will die on this hill. 😅😅😅
Thank you for today.
That 54 colorway is awesome!💕💗🥳
I Am A Sarah shows a great cardigan that is granny squares joined by knitting. It’s on my list!
Qdoba is smaller company I believe started in Colorado and Chipotle is owned by McDonalds (not as good). Torchies is good, I live in Denver 😊
Omg Tracie I love your shirt!!
I hope you visit Tom Bihn and get yourselves a Swift knitting bag while you’re in Seattle. The best!
Wahoo, I made it to another live! Jodi, I got my yarn. (I’ve been out of town)
The field sweater really does have a quite small size range, starting at 37” is a edging out like half the population
After-thought heels are the way to go!
I saw that someone commented on the live broadcast that they use the cable cast on and gives a very similar look as the tubular cast on. Beautiful hats. Crochet! Socks.❤
We’ve been dealing with a Haboob so our temps are down.
I just love you girls and love the socks. May I ask what brand of sock machine do you have and how do you feel about it. I’m thinking of buying one so I would love to know how y’all feel about the one you have. Thank you guys for all your hard work. ❤
For tubular cast on, I love Andrea Mowry's video/method so I don't have to bother with waste yarn.
If you like fantasy you should read “Air Awakens” by Elise Kova… it’s an incredible series! And I’m currently reading her Thorn of Glass Series.
Hope to see you in Seattle!
Gawd I missed the Grocery Girls!
There is a great book called Sundance by West Yorkshire Spinners with lovely garments and a bag.
Hope to see you down in Seattle!
Tubular cast on is not fussy. I used Andrea‘s video and her technique in the Weekender. And you do use a smaller needle for the preparation rows.
Please take this the way I intend it, just making a suggestion. Maybe part of one's knitting journey can be learning how to size grade patterns, then no pattern would be off limits to them?
Made my day !!
Get a bestie for a shop dog they are cute, small and don't shed!!
If you do nothing else in Seattle, you have to go to CHIHULY!!!!! You can’t get that close and not go.
I love that sheeo too!
❤❤❤
I unexpectedly loved Barbie but honestly, it put me in a depressive funk for a couple of days. It’s such a layered, complicated film with a surface level of extreme humor. So hard to describe.
I teach Tunisian crochet virtually with Vogue Knitting Live. My next set of classes are coming in September. 38:31
Is it Chihuly glass? Hope you didn’t miss it.
Tulip crochet hooks
🤣”Why would you buy lace weight?” 😅
Qdoba is by far better then Chipotle, Winnipeg has a few locations
I kept waiting for Don Pardo to belt out "LIVE from NEW YORK..."!
(This is real? Did SNL copy you guys? Its uncanny!)
As I only crochet I’m so pleased you have something for us hookers
I have had difficulty over the years with many patterns where the smallest size was a 38" bust, 36 is doable but 34" is what I need/prefer.
"Tragic" is an understatement. Has anybody else read this book and kind of laughed when Tracy said, "oh, I love it already"? 😅 Be prepared. It's the most beautiful writing I've ever read, but the most disgusting content.
Qdoba is much better and safer than Chapotle. Love all your things.
Texans don’t eat Chipotle, we have real TexMex Food. Real queso and guacamole.
Hi Ladies, I might be able to make the flock festival after all. Hopefully I can by a ticket from someone! Or wait in line to get in.
