Hunting in Canada: Family Hunt for Mountain Goat

- Hunting in Canada is always awesome, but a family hunt for mountain goat is both awesome and ridiculous.
See the problem is the mountain goats are a the top of the mountains. We're not a afraid of a little hiking, the real challenge is weather. If its socked in with rain or snow we can't really see to navigate or find the animals. Couple this with a rather large hunting party of 7 and it could be tricky to close the distance.
But whatever, the chance to go on a family hunt in the some of the most beautiful mountains in the world could never be a bad idea.

I don’t know what kind of magic is in the water that this family drinks but lord please share it with the world. All the girls are just amazing.. That can only happen through amazing parenting.. and a dad and mom that doesn’t over protect. Who sees their children as capable young people and not have them play gender specific rolls.. I just love them all. I really do.

Gender roles is a very dated way of thinking that said I cook for my husband and kids. we also share chores including yard work. he will do dishes laundry vacuum. We both changed diapers, bathed fed and played with when the kids when they were little now all 3 are teens.so yeah I won the husband lottery!!!
Your girls will remember trips like this their whole lives. Amazing to see the kind of life you and Rose are making possible for them and yourselves.

I am glad that you guys are honest about hunting. Yes, it is alot of not getting a shot on an animal and getting your meat. It is usually alot of failed attempts but I look at it as learning opportunities.

Those are some tough girls. Five days in, through rain and snow, hauling all that gear and they're all still wearing their earrings. Young ladies all.
That's truly an adventurous family, With a really cool dad at the helm, guiding and exciting the kids to experience this magically scenic wilderness, Mum being an absolute sport to get the girls going, despite weather and other tedious trekking challenges.. 5 days in those mountains is not an easy walk, Thank you for sharing your family trip.

You girls are lucky to have a mom and dad who teach you to hunt and appreciate the outdoors. Hunting is not something I grew up with but I wish I had. The skills you learn on those hunts last with you a lifetime. Most people never get to visit the top of those mountains or just isolate for a week in the wilderness and become one with nature. Yes the weather is extreme and miserable but it toughens you up and builds character. Being up there also gives you an appreciation for how tough it is for those animals to survive in that environment. One final thought when you have to work as hard as that to acquire your food I doubt very much there will be any leftovers on the plates. Most people who don't have to endure those struggles to bring home the bacon as it were and often waste food. We throw away more food in the developed world that all that is produced in the underdeveloped world.

I just went out and killed myself walking suffering hours and hours of putting in work and I came back empty handed, I hunt in California public land I have to walk miles to get away from hunters, and it sucks coming home empty handed . This!!!!! is what family is all about, teaching your girls the value of outdoor hunting and responsiblity. They will be the strongest girls out there with the can do spirit and won't have to wait for a man to do it for them.....they are self sufficient.
