@@austinwalker4936 I've done it before. You need a dead deer, deer brains, a pole/leaning tree, a sharp edge on a piece of wood and or a semi rough rock. Most girls, when they think of making themselves a dress, would get out a sewing machine. But this is a whole 'nother dimension. Think of how much these kids are learning! Primal people have done this for 100 thousand years or more. Gives you a whole new respect for our ancestors. Wow, Kiddo! GOOD JOB!!
Very cool, those old primitive skills are invaluable, and may be needed by many if or when the modern world falls apart. Society's current ways are unsustainable. People used to take what they needed to survive and nothing more as well as finding a use for every part of the animals they killed for food and supplies. Stay interested in practicing and acquiring those primitive skills. Good work!
very cool guys. I have used the "Orange Bottle" tanning solution on a few beavers with mixed results. Gonna have to try this on a deer some time. Thanks for sharing guys!!
@@shakeme3290: That is what I use. My Lakota half did that for thousands of years, even on bison hides. And when not using the urine on skins, always great to jump-start a compost with as it is loaded with beneficial anaerobic bacteria.
I've used the orange bottle on 3 beaver, 2 bobcat and a deer. The trick to any tan is to stretch it and keep stretching it. Beaver are thicker hides than deer so they require more work.

That’s badass. She’s gonna be well rounded and lvl headed
Wow. Great work! Love that your girls are so clever. You guys are bringing them up right!
Most girls, when they think of making themselves a dress, would get out a sewing machine. But this is a whole 'nother dimension. Think of how much these kids are learning! Primal people have done this for 100 thousand years or more. Gives you a whole new respect for our ancestors. Wow, Kiddo! GOOD JOB!!
So glad you use the whole animal it was done thousands of years.
Good work!
Great video’s you guys make!!!! Best channel on TH-cam!
That’s so awesome to see that kid doing something like that !!! Way to go ! Keep it up!
very cool guys. I have used the "Orange Bottle" tanning solution on a few beavers with mixed results. Gonna have to try this on a deer some time.
Thanks for sharing guys!!
Why not urine?
@@shakeme3290 Perhaps the Inuit have a patent on that process?
@@shakeme3290: That is what I use. My Lakota half did that for thousands of years, even on bison hides. And when not using the urine on skins, always great to jump-start a compost with as it is loaded with beneficial anaerobic bacteria.
I've used the orange bottle on 3 beaver, 2 bobcat and a deer. The trick to any tan is to stretch it and keep stretching it. Beaver are thicker hides than deer so they require more work.
