@kings4life05 it's not about the volume, it's about how much air you can compress into the cylinder chamber.. more air is compressed which increased pressure which increased power. Very simple. A V8 could have a twin turbo but it would be more unstable than an inline 8 or inline 6 which make the v8 less efficient.
The new IS-F lexus is a 5.0 ltr V8. Toyota have had in production for years a 5.0 ltr V12. The 1uz is a 4.0 ltr v8 producing 200kw in 1989 reving to around 7000 rpm. me mates 350 chev (holden) would be lucky to have 180kw and it redlines around 5,000 rpm. replacement for displacement- technology and design.
is you are talking about this supra it has a 2-speed powerglide, the shop is literally 4 miles from my place since they have moved over too boggycreek road now. right out by OIA
would love to see the in car video on that pass...i bet that driver is wrestling a dragon trying to keep that thing in the groove hell of driving two thumbs up
@Roadzery dude a double clutch is a shifting method not a car part. usually used when you dont have synchros, ie 70 years ago. people dont use manual transmissions for professional drag racing
@AUSM92 dont know specifically how much this exact one makes, i assume around 1500-1700hp maybe more. but the motor can run up to 2000hp on the factory block.
I actually supercharged my grand prix and tuned it. Once I was done, I fell for the G35 coupe. Now I want a AWD for safety and winter driving in Canada. ..G37 X AWD coupe. RWD is just no fun in wet and winter.
@somorgojo if you have a very small engine in a midsize car, the engine has to work harder than a big engine, the small engine will be at 3000 rpm at 100kmph/60mph where as the big v8 will only be at 1500, fuel economy also is affected by gearing and how many gears a transmission has where as the corvette is a 6 speed, on the highway a corvette will cruise at 1300 rpm easily where as your honda civic or mazda protege for example will be running high 2 low 3 thousand rpm corvette is a bad example
@TheDominic9866 nos to spool the turbo but mostly just a shit load of boost. so to answer your question honestly.... both. but the nos is only there to get that turbo up to max psi
toyota powered!!! the supra is one of the worlds best ... in my country (trinidad&tobago) they trust nissan sr20's, rb20,25,26.... our fastest supra does cool 9's... just wanted 2 say great video man... thanks now i can show what a supra can do...
@williamchop Yeah, a SBC can be more than double the displacement; but weighs about 50 lbs more and is of similar size (the 2jz is longer and taller). What Nova are you talking about?
@Jonoc123 you cant rly make any deference betwen auto and duble cluch coz the duble cluch is exacly made to get rid of the lag betwen shifting gears and make the whole 1/4 mile one big ass power glide.
yea its a hell of a car, but a smaller displacement naturally aspirated motor from lexus competeing with that is pretty damn good, supercharging that motor would be an awesome supercar
There is a replacement for displacement and its called squeezing more into the same space. Then your argument is well I'll just turbo the v8. That's hardly stock. Lets try to think of a V8 that was stock that matched the supra power in 1997. Can you think of any? Well?
@hpisavage11 I'm not saying in general, but as far as shifting goes, it's obviously much easier to bumb a stick up or down opposed to actually shifting with a normal gearbox
@thevettedude66 This car is not running nitrous, it has a single turboe and is running an automatic transmission. And why call out the boost? a v8 has 2 more cylinders so why cant the 2jzgte have turboes? seems kinda stupid to complain about.
@maxpower700 I'm asking if you'll drive a RWD in something like Canadian winter and recommend to people with all honesty? But then if let's say you could drive a G37 X AWD luxury coupe, turbo it, tune the PCM, and drive all winter, in all winter condition (Canadian winter). drive around your family and kids and have peace of mind.
@thiefgarr Needless to say, I've been driving a G35 coupe now after my grand prix gt n/asp. I'm planning on trading it for a G37 X AWD coupe sometime. The G35 and G37 has similarities to the grand prix and modding it and tuning should not be a problem once the kits, the hardware and software comes out. I'm hoping ZZPerformance becomes a sponsor of the Infinity G37 coupe.
bro the titan motorsports orange beast has a 2-speed powerglide in it. check out their web-site and maybe you'll learn a thing or two about this supra in general!
@somorgojo have you ever noticed how cars with bigger engines get better highway mpg, i am currently driving a mustang convertible, i get 25 mpg city and 30 highway and its a 1996 convertible, if you have a 1200 horsepower car its still not going to be fuel efficient no matter what, corvettes are actually not that bad on gas a couple of my friends own them
what has the current record? this or the blue AP supra from here in ohio? fastest street supra seemed to change hands a lot between like 3 tuning shops heh...
@stlchucko yes but the have 2 more cyl plus moe bore and so on. that,what you jsut saw is a straight six. 3.0. these v8's you speak of are what 5.7 give or take? so close to double the displacement and yet they cant run 7's? and that nova went boom and got put down so to speak...this car still runs the strip
where you get the stock thing from? i was saying that they were using the original motor and i doubt its using nitrous as you would of seen it purging up or something
@maxpower700 But you know modding right including ECU/PCM tuning, right? Will you really recommend a RWD to anyone even like a loveone if you have the choice to drive an AWD? If you say yes and of dicussion...
hmm at 1st i tough it was an automatic gearbox but maybe it's a duble cluch, i cant rly explane it in english but it goes something like this, when you are on 1st gear the cluch has swiched on 2nd b4 you do it so you dont have the pushback time suffering like a normal cluch, i dont think that these guys are gonna go for an auto gearbox or do an extreamly high 1st gear (something like 1.313:1) with a crazy end ratio of 3.599+, ima let ya'll guys to descide if its one of these 3 option's.
Max, i want to know if you're into modding naturally aspirated cars with force induction and tuning ECU/PCM. Because it changes your perspective about cars if you do it.
dude the thing is, it takes an American car 6.6L to match a 3.0L Jap engine... you all keep saying domestics will be faster. what happens if someone decides to use a Lexus 1UZ?
yes, but this is far before the rebuild. it was supposed to be able reclaim the IRS record, but all the Supra guys looking forward to do so have been kinda dormant for a while..
@BillyClark860 Not to mention she's a smokin hot twin, who actually Drives supras down the track! She ran a low nine last time I checked, I hope I can run a low 9 before i die.
@footmaverick 1/4 mile world record for a supra another supra was the world record holder in the 2010 texas mile achieving an amazing run of 246 mph. cheers (type in supra texas mile if you want to see vid) cheers
if kevin fiscus is using a older small block then most likly emission standards is probably lower though its sad you have to swap for a even bigger motor then twin turbo it and build it up the only way you guys can make power is to up the engine size
I love supra's vote thumbs up if you believe supra's have one of the greatest racing reputation's of all i know they aren't the best but pretty damn good
@thiefgarr sure, it would be safe and all that, but you wrote ''RWD is just no _FUN_ in wet and winter'' and i was like ''whoaaa wtf? ''. I can honestly say that i'll drive an RWD in something like Canadian winter, and recommend it to other ppl. I don't know if you have checked in my profile, but if you have not, i can say that I'm from Sweden. Do you know how the winters are here? pretty much just like the canadian, if not even colder lol :D
@maxpower700 Cheap , fun and safer? Modders repair their own vehicle too. I don't think it's more expensive. An Infinity G37 coupes are solid reliable cars and luxurious.
hell yeah no doubt, i don't know of any other car that can gain up to 45 horses just with a full exhaust and another 35 from a good intake and throttle body
@b02857 i explained in the coments below that i meant for a car part not a method, simply (duble clutch) is the letter by letter translation from my lang. and for the non manual transmisions, Woon,Philip? ever heard of these names?
@partyguy9 I can hear it barely, drag cars dont use normal transmission, they usually use sequential gearbox's to shift faster, which I do not agree with. there's more skill in shifting with a normal manual transmisison
@mcgoo721 i think boostlogic has it at 7.59 @189 an yeah is'nt always between boostlogic, titan motorsports, an wotm? an then you got this random guy from ohio with another beast lol
Big congrats guys! Can't wait to see the battle between you and BL at TX2K8 :)
@kings4life05 it's not about the volume, it's about how much air you can compress into the cylinder chamber.. more air is compressed which increased pressure which increased power. Very simple. would love to see the in car video on that pass...i bet that driver is wrestling a dragon trying to keep that thing in the groove hell of driving two thumbs up
Ive never seen a front wheel drive car that fast . Amazing !!!!
@gwmisled definitely NOT
ITS A REAR WHEEL DRIVE CAR if you looked
@Roadzery dude a double clutch is a shifting method not a car part. usually used when you dont have synchros, ie 70 years ago. people dont use manual transmissions for professional drag racing
I own a 2008 VW GTI as a daily driver...hopefully getting a supra as weekend car this year too
@AUSM92 dont know specifically how much this exact one makes, i assume around 1500-1700hp maybe more. but the motor can run up to 2000hp on the factory block.
Is that Dave standing down there? That's Dave- gotta be. Good lord that car is quick.
I actually supercharged my grand prix and tuned it. Once I was done, I fell for the G35 coupe. Now I want a AWD for safety and winter driving in Canada. ..G37 X AWD coupe.
RWD is just no fun in wet and winter.
jesus. that looked to track straight. Impressive
Kick ass video. Love the car and love the background music lol.
@somorgojo if you have a very small engine in a midsize car, the engine has to work harder than a big engine, the small engine will be at 3000 rpm at 100kmph/60mph where as the big v8 will only be at 1500, fuel economy also is affected by gearing and how many gears a transmission has where as the corvette is a 6 speed, on the highway a corvette will cruise at 1300 rpm easily where as your honda civic or mazda protege for example will be running high 2 low 3 thousand rpm corvette is a bad example

so to answer your question honestly.... both. but the nos is only there to get that turbo up to max psi
titan also has a white supra that can run 8's all day that is a 6-speed manual.
toyota powered!!! the supra is one of the worlds best ... in my country (trinidad&tobago) they trust nissan sr20's, rb20,25,26.... our fastest supra does cool 9's... just wanted 2 say great video man... thanks now i can show what a supra can do...
why do i have the feeling Jessica Burton is speaking at the end?
@nathanpisces its not auto..its a power-glide transmission..the driver still need to shift it..2 forward gear and 1 reversed..research it..
damn thats pretty amazing, are you still running the 2jz?
@williamchop Yeah, a SBC can be more than double the displacement; but weighs about 50 lbs more and is of similar size (the 2jz is longer and taller). What Nova are you talking about?
add..Still in reguards to winter driving..the RWD vs AWD.. recommend to a family member?
@Jonoc123 you cant rly make any deference betwen auto and duble cluch coz the duble cluch is exacly made to get rid of the lag betwen shifting gears and make the whole 1/4 mile one big ass power glide.
yea its a hell of a car, but a smaller displacement naturally aspirated motor from lexus competeing with that is pretty damn good, supercharging that motor would be an awesome supercar
@maxpower700
I also assume that you know how to put force induction to a naturally aspirated car and know how to tune the ECU right?
thats only from the wikipedia source they havent "publicly" announced its time
@PurePower999
oh, ok....
then why do top fuel dragsters have 8000HP V8's
instead of a turbo four banger?
There is a replacement for displacement and its called squeezing more into the same space. Then your argument is well I'll just turbo the v8. That's hardly stock. Lets try to think of a V8 that was stock that matched the supra power in 1997. Can you think of any? Well?
@RPXXPR what type of turbos are you goin for mate, and are you planning to put a video of it on here. i'd love to see it
@mrhondacivicsi 1/8th mile!!!!!!! That is one fast car to get to 185mph in the 1/8th!! Are your father and mother also brother and sister????
@hpisavage11 I'm not saying in general, but as far as shifting goes, it's obviously much easier to bumb a stick up or down opposed to actually shifting with a normal gearbox
@maxpower700
Do you drive your RWD on 4-6 inches of snow going to work and say you enjoy it?
What are the specs on that Supra? 7.71, hell yea indeed : )
@ryans523 they usually use gm automatics that are decades old....
@thevettedude66 This car is not running nitrous, it has a single turboe and is running an automatic transmission. And why call out the boost? a v8 has 2 more cylinders so why cant the 2jzgte have turboes? seems kinda stupid to complain about.
I love the WOTM videos, but I'm not sure if Ryan's newest supra would take this one
@maxpower700
I'm asking if you'll drive a RWD in something like Canadian winter and recommend to people with all honesty?
But then if let's say you could drive a G37 X AWD luxury coupe, turbo it, tune the PCM, and drive all winter, in all winter condition (Canadian winter). drive around your family and kids and have peace of mind.

I'm hoping ZZPerformance becomes a sponsor of the Infinity G37 coupe.
@witeass34 lol I don't get how you can call a 7 second car a rice burner. Fyi, rice originated from world wide, not Japan.
bro the titan motorsports orange beast has a 2-speed powerglide in it. check out their web-site and maybe you'll learn a thing or two about this supra in general!

damn thats the god of supras right there
You dont need a stick shift to use 2 step. Explain why AAP and Virtual Works have used it before ?
what has the current record? this or the blue AP supra from here in ohio?
fastest street supra seemed to change hands a lot between like 3 tuning shops heh...

@skylinefan3465 OK Good point LOL How much would it cost to build without the Titan employee discount??LOL
Two words freakin awesome.
@maxpower700
But you know modding right including ECU/PCM tuning, right?
Will you really recommend a RWD to anyone even like a loveone if you have the choice to drive an AWD?
If you say yes and of dicussion...
hmm at 1st i tough it was an automatic gearbox but maybe it's a duble cluch,
i cant rly explane it in english but it goes something like this, when you are on 1st gear the cluch has swiched on 2nd b4 you do it so you dont have the pushback time suffering like a normal cluch, i dont think that these guys are gonna go for an auto gearbox or do an extreamly high 1st gear (something like 1.313:1) with a crazy end ratio of 3.599+, ima let ya'll guys to descide if its one of these 3 option's.

hks supra is using a 1uzfe i think though. its a v8 but its a toyota made v8. unless theres more than one hks usa supra
dude the thing is, it takes an American car 6.6L to match a 3.0L Jap engine... you all keep saying domestics will be faster. what happens if someone decides to use a Lexus 1UZ?
yes, but this is far before the rebuild. it was supposed to be able reclaim the IRS record, but all the Supra guys looking forward to do so have been kinda dormant for a while..
Wow.. Ultimate... Unbelievable..
@RPXXPR Dude can you send a link to this stock engine car so I can post it on a Supra forum in the UK
omg that supra is fkn fast!!!! love imports
thats so crazy!!! wow
respekt to titan motorsports
@gixxersteven kinda. its a powerglide 2 speed trans.
@BillyClark860 Not to mention she's a smokin hot twin, who actually Drives supras down the track! She ran a low nine last time I checked, I hope I can run a low 9 before i die.
I wonder what that feels like?? Can you even see or does it become like blurry for a second?? One day i suppose, one day.
@footmaverick 1/4 mile world record for a supra
another supra was the world record holder in the 2010 texas mile achieving an amazing run of 246 mph.
cheers (type in supra texas mile if you want to see vid)
cheers
Turbo Garret GT 55-91 power wheels 1500 HP ???
I wanna see this car race John Shepherd's '91 Eagle Talon.
Help me out pleae.
How much power can I expect from a t62-1 on my MKIV?? ballpark it at least.
if kevin fiscus is using a older small block then most likly emission standards is probably lower though its sad you have to swap for a even bigger motor then twin turbo it and build it up the only way you guys can make power is to up the engine size
Holly shit, how do you know that's her?
I just googled her and GAWD DAMN SON!
@thiefgarr well ofc. That's probably the funniest conditions to drive in. It gives a good balance between grip, and slipperyness (
I love supra's vote thumbs up if you believe supra's have one of the greatest racing reputation's of all i know they aren't the best but pretty damn good
can u upload it it would prolly be a big hit.
He doesn't even have to shift, I think he either shifts once to get it into fist or doesn't at all.
Do you know how the winters are here? pretty much just like the canadian, if not even colder lol :D
wow wah we wah!!!!! GREAT SUCCESS!
@vtnsx hold on, just reading through these comments between me, you and DJtheChemist, and are you backing the supra or the v8's? just wondering lmao
@maxpower700
Cheap , fun and safer? Modders repair their own vehicle too. I don't think it's more expensive. An Infinity G37 coupes are solid reliable cars and luxurious.
hell yeah no doubt, i don't know of any other car that can gain up to 45 horses just with a full exhaust and another 35 from a good intake and throttle body
why couldnt i hear it shifting gears. m i deaf, or theres a special transmission box.
how about we mention the lexus lf-a that beat all three cars?
she is hot, that is actually jessica barton talking, she drives a black supra tuned by titan motorsports
This is Titan motorsports. Supra specialists located in Florida. They don't touch V8's
is that 1/4 mile or 1/8? that was quick either way. 185
i know that but you shouldn't have to swap motors and and an extra turbo etc. to a small block v8 which is at the minimum has at least 5.7cc
if it isn't the famous matt wasson!!!! OMG!!! how are you today sir?
nope her voice had HOT written all over it! I'm sure she's SMOKIN HOT! in fact on a scale of 1-10 I bet she's a 989!
god i love the license plate on that supra, 7000rpm :)
top secret supra is a yello-ish lighter gold, this is almost a dark orange gold
Sounds like Jessica behind the camera.
Am I right?
which ranges from 3.5 liter v6 to 1.5 liter sohc 4 cylinder
was it in 1st gear for the whole thing?
@Roadzery it sounds like a 2 speed powerglide mate... its definately an auto
love that burnout they made before race
Damn, this chick with the camera sounds cute as hell lol oh, and LOVE the supra man.
@b02857 i explained in the coments below that i meant for a car part not a method, simply (duble clutch) is the letter by letter translation from my lang.
and for the non manual transmisions, Woon,Philip? ever heard of these names?
@grabir01 How about you let me know when any modified production chassis runs 4's at 300MPH. Apples to apples
i know how is a 8.0+ liter v10 with twin turbos inpressive?
@partyguy9 I can hear it barely, drag cars dont use normal transmission, they usually use sequential gearbox's to shift faster, which I do not agree with. there's more skill in shifting with a normal manual transmisison
@mcgoo721
i think boostlogic has it at 7.59 @189
an yeah is'nt always between boostlogic, titan motorsports, an wotm?
an then you got this random guy from ohio with another beast lol
@kronikally420 Agreed, do u have a vid of your car?
SOMEBODY PLEASE!!!!!!!!! Tell me what you think this car will run in the 1/8th......
@TheDominic9866
you can hear him purge the nos after he does the burnout
