I just bought a used 2020 Kia Niro Hybrid. I'm getting 53mpg around town and the DCT transmissions is years ahead of a Toyota CVT. In fact, after experiencing the DCT first hand, I would never go back to a CVT transmission - ever! I just have the LX base model and its fine. It glides down the road during city driving and it seems to keep up on the freeway. All in all when gas in Texas is at $3.29 and rising, its a money saver.
We have 19 Niro Touring hybrid that we bought new . We really like this car a lot . And seems so far extremely reliable . I highly recommend the Niro .
Found the DCT to be pretty good. In terms of the overall drivetrain, it’s more of the switch between gasoline and ev power that could use a bit smoothing out. But once the car has decided which mode it wants to be in, the DCT works really well with the setup. Especially from an engagement/sporty driving point of view. A CVT would likely be smoother but overall less engaging to drive. Thanks for the comment!
I have a 2022 NIRO LXS doesn’t have the sunroof but wasn’t looking for another vehicle with a sunroof I traded in my 2020 KIA Soul GT line for the NIRO LXS hybrid and love the money I’m saving with fuel. Mine also doesn’t have any backseat connectivity but it’s an LXS trim and I don’t have kids and pretty much drive by myself and never really have anyone else in the vehicle with me so it’s understandable but the fact that even the highest trim the EX doesn’t either is ridiculous. This was the issue I hade with the KIA Soul GT line it’s the highest Trim on the Soul yet had no backseat connectivity no year air vents,no storage on the backs of the front seats,no rear armrest with cup holders and didn’t even have heated and/or ventilated seats. Disappointed that a GT line trim was equally barebones like it was a base model. Little more impressed with my NIRO LXS but still disappointed that with a $28,000 sticker price that it didn’t have equal to what the EX trim has.
I leased a 2020 Niro Touring in March and have been driving it for 5 months. I don’t love it. It does not have a power drivers seat which is way more annoying than I thought it would be. It’s impossible to keep the back end clean. I live in the northeast US so it’s a nightmare to keep clean in the winter. My biggest complaint about the inside is the strip of brushed metallic that runs along the bottom of the dash. It reflects the sun directly into your eyes when you are driving! The ride is very jerky when you first start up the car in the morning and also when you get down to about 100 miles left to drive on the tank. It’s just jerky all the time then. When I fill the tank, the car tells me I can drive 496 miles, but the advertised mileage is 595 on one tank. It does have a decent amount of cargo space and a roomy backseat. The sound system is pretty good for being basic. My paint color is a metallic white and it’s really nice. I like the ambient lighting but wish there were more color choices. Overall, I wish I would’ve looked more before signing the lease. I probably would have gone with something else.

I bought a used 2021 Niro PHEV SX Touring - top line in Canada and love it. A great small city car!
Great review, I'm presently considering the Kia Niro as my 3rd vehicle.
Thanks! Nice. Good luck deciding!
Kia has it going on
Nice review! Any thoughts on how the DCT drivetrain drove? Any shuddering?

Sorry to hear you don’t like it. Thanks for sharing your ownership experience!
Our 19 Niro Touring came with power heater and coo.ed leather seats . Maybe because I live in Canada
what is the consumption per 100 km?
It's around 4.5 L/100km

The E-Niro has 64 kWh battery or 39 Kwh battery
The Niro EV has a 64 kWh battery
@@ridexdrive ok, but you was saying 42 kWh in the video.
@@kimalexandernilsson do you have a timestamp for where that is mentioned?
@@ridexdrive 1m32s, when you introduced the e-Niro
@@kimalexandernilsson cool. Thanks! Yeah it’s 64 for 2020.
