Can you buy a 6×6 rig from the dealer, or is that only an aftermarket thing? I always wondered why we didn't have 6×6 over the typical 6×4! After all, Euro Trucks are 6x6 and even 8x8! I would feel so much comfortable in a 6x6 or 8x8 while driving on snow n ice in a big truck! The only American trucks I've ever seen that have power to all axles are those military HET and Hemmits!
cthunter41 what I didn't understand is why it didn't have a standard transfer case like one would imagine. I've never seen it send power all the way to the rear axel only to come all the way back to the front. Seems a waste of power
gizmo98632 There is not really any power loss -at least not a noticeable amount compared to the drag of the internals of a transfer case. This setup is likely designed to eliminate the need for a case, either to streamline production (most tucks are rwd, so a case is not in high enough demand to justify production), or to allow simpler conversion to 6x6 from a standard pattern truck.

Es muy chico el motor (cat C10 apenas) para un camion grande de alto tonelage.....deberia ser por ej un cummins N14, ISX, Cat C15 o un detroit serie 60 de 12.7 a 14 lts.....todos estos motores con un minimo de potencia de unos 400 hp. Ademas deberia usar un solo cardan principal para los ejes traseros y no tener dos cardanes
@@Serbid нету у него раздатки. Отбор мощности для переднего моста взят со среднего. Передний мост не отключаемый, межосевого дифференциала нет. Даже не знаю насколько это удачное решение. Оси мериторы, у них на сайте попадались подобная конструкция.

Robert Atwood Likely over 700 pounds. Transfer cases made to go behind the c15 engines (oshkosh hemtt) are 900lbs or more.

There is no transfer case the rear- front axle has extra shaft going to front axle they are 46,000 # Eaton tandem.

навигатор 54 - у него с КП на раздатку (лужа масла под ней 2:19) потом на см а уже от см на передний мост через подвесной. Орегинально однако :)
