still have my monitor 4000 enhanced as well, i paid almost $6k for it back in the day so i just don't have the heart to get rid of it although i do still use it occasionally. i have the import 96 package as well as the abs/body control package for it too, very few people bit the bullet and bought those... when the last software upgrade was released i tried to get it but otc wanted $600 for it, so i passed.. 2 years later i found a liquidator on ebay that had half a dozen complete new monitor elite sets on a dutch auction, i bid and got one for $150 and it came with that final software update, so i got really lucky that time.
I bought one of these at an estate sale also a 2000 too I paid 20 dollars for both I knew exactly what it was even though I'm young and a mechanic but I saw it and knew what it was it came with all the books and everything.

@@blakewaddell451 Pathfinder II went to 93, If your car was made in 93 with same style the entering 93 for 94 should work.
bob Smith it was made in 4/94 so I guess this one won’t work then but still a handy tool.

Wish I would have never sold my 4000 Enhanced. It seemed to offer more features, especially for OBDI vehicles than my Genisys 5.0. What a blast from the past to see your 4000E in action!
Nice scan tool. Will it work on import cars such as Honda and Toyota?
Yes on Fords you will have to go though the KOEO test but I believe it will show you the codes after that. Its been so long since Ive used it on a Ford I cant quite remember. lol Hope this helps some. Take care friend!

Is there a upgrade for the monitor 4000 enhanced
deuce '02 was the last software update for the 4000 enhanced, it is very hard to find.
Just used this one's slightly different sibling today, the 4000 Enhanced. Not sure why OTC decided that going from E to Enhanced would be OK, it makes it sound like the same tool.
Used the Pathfinder '96 cartridge and the OBDII cable on an '01 Bravada. Going to have to get new cables or a new tool soon, the OBDI cable broke internally and doesn't supply power from the lighter plug to the device, and the OBDII cable is broken internally and has to be in a certain position to make contact to communicate.
the enhanced is quite a bit more enhanced than the 4000E, the big difference is that the enhanced monitor can do obd-ii manufacturer-specific until 2002 but generic obd-ii still works on later models as well.
@@marzsit9833 Until 2002 is a bit of a misnomer, each cartridge works until too many generational changes are made to a covered vehicle line, IE the 2000-2005 GM W body will all work with the older cartridge. I used that same Pathfinder '96 on a 2005 Impala. In this case just tell it that you are working on a Lumina.
What cartridge are you using to look at this Saturn with OBD 1. I have a '93 Saturn and a OTC monitor4000E. But I have no cartridge.

Cool video! If you dont mind helping I have one of these I got from eBay yet I have no clue how to use it! I hooked it up to my step dads 94 Ford Truck and it doent show the get codes, etc. like yours did on the Saturn, It talked about the key on key off testing. Is that cause its a Ford or maybe I didnt have the correct cartridge? Thanks!
you need the correct software cartridge for the year of vehicle and for a 94 ford you need the red ford cable. fords after 89-90 had live data capability just like a gm or chrysler product but you need the red cable since ford changed the pinouts in the diagnostic connector.

I know thats the factory Chrysler tool. I have used them in the past when I worked at Jeep briefly but not sure if I can answer any technical questions about the tool. Thank for for comment and have a great day!
