Thing is, the blue jay is also likely a parent. They swoop on animals/humans when they’re a threat to their babies.

Sad situation all the way around. The hawks eat the baby bluebirds and the bluebirds view the hawks as a threat.

The Northern Mockingbird does this to the resident Red-shouldered Hawk on our property. Fearless for a reason.
Raptors know they must simply be patient and put up with the other birds' harassment for what the raptors do to them. It is what it is.
Angel olis very beautiful with her unique markings ❤

I'm watching her right now, live stream. There is a blue Jay just staying there at a near branch. I never knew blue Jays are such a pester. Angel must know what she's doing. Protecting that small chick. Me, if I was an eagle, I would kick all those blue Jays butts. Just wait blue Jays, you'll get it right back.

Jays are corvids like crows and ravens, very smart and absolutely relentless. I’ve had generations of them nesting in my back yard and they love teasing my cats from the tree outside.

Your kidding right?? After all there is no comparison to the way predators and prey relate as compared to the extremes that humans have gone to to eradicate wildlife of all kinds around the world simply because they get in the way of what we like to call "progress. Then of course genocidal practices humans have commited to members of their own species is unparalled in the natural world.
