Anything I should go more into detail about? Let me know down below. EDIT: For the new firelight tools, I overlooked how to find them. Instead of clicking on the waveform in the firelight tab, you have to click on the actually track off to the right. Then the tools show up in the inspector.

Great vid! Some great features! Would love to see a tutorial on magic masks in Fusion and Color Page, since especially the latter keep breaking, and I was told to export an alpha for reuse after adjustments are made to the clip to redo the mask immediately, but it's kind of bewildering for me. Would love to know how you use it, as I'm struggling with that amazing tool, similar with relight
Color slicer is something you missed - it does some of the stuff that friends of mine were selling in DCTLs - so about 10 minutes after the demo started my messenger was pinging like crazy.
So glad ( yet to test though ) that they gave a second look at the face refinement - I have sent them that request ( to fix it ) for a few years now, and was told by BMD that it was on the list.
Also not mentioned in the demo - All the Fujifilm ( F-Log and F-Log2 color spaces ) have been added for use in Color managed workflows. A lot of people in the forums were asking about that.
I just wanted to showcase my what my favorite near features were. I didn’t have enough time to play with anything else in depth therefore I didn’t cover it. So more tutorials in the future for sure.
also - Have a great time in Vegas - wish I could have made it. You have Marc Wielage's permission to bug him - just look for the Chroma Hollywood hat. He's a great guy and so generous with his time and knowledge.

this is great! btw you can still achieve the effect of defocusing the background using a magic mask, selecting any subject in frame and then inverted the mask to the BG and apply some radius blur and basically get the same effect. Blackmagic is taking over the industry 😎🤙
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing. I heard that DV 19 now has a tool to fix sudden exposure changes.. typically when using still lenses and you accidentally change your aperture during filming, it results in an unpleasant "jump" in exposure. Does anyone knows about that tool that sort of "unifies" the exposure accros the entire clip in order to remove that jumps? I can't find it. Thanks!

Hi. Thanks for the review. Why did you apply the Film plug-in after you narrowed a color space and DR with rec.709?
I tested it going from DWG into it and there was no difference on look, or how the tools behaved
Is the film look studio only?
In the Regular Point Tracker you can change the Pattern area and the Search area, and just have more options you can change.
Why do you not use the Film Look Creator as your second CST and put as an input the Davinci Intermediate and WideGamut? Makes no sense to me to convert the footage into a smaller color space to then continue working on it with these film emulation effect.
Either way works. I tested both ways. It made no difference on final look

With the film look generator, would it make the most sense to put it in the middle of the node tree before converting davinci wide gamut to rec709? That way you're making all those adjustments in wide gamut and not after the rec709 conversion?
I didn’t notice a difference in how the adjustments behaved. So either way seems to make no difference

I exported a file from my SD card to DaVinci Resolve, all video footage. After deleting it from the media pool, it somehow disappeared from my SD card.
Now, I'm facing difficulty as it doesn't even appear in the bin of my Mac. I'm seeking advice on how to proceed, as I'm currently stuck with this issue.

If I was doing shot tracers all the time (I assume for golf) I’d buy a dedicated 3rd party software to do so. Easier and less time consuming

The music remixer is only on a track level, not the clip level so if you select the track this will be available.

One quick question. In the new Noise reduction ULTRA NR, do we not have to adjust any of the Temporal NR or Temporal Threshold before? This updates are insane!!!! I can't wait to see BlackMagic DaVinci in Vegas this weekend.

I have an interesting problem with davinci occasionally my amd 7700 goes from 50ish C to 90C and when it does the program freezes until the temp comes down(anywhere from 30 to over a minute) anybody heard of this? Oh and it’s only 2-5% cpu utilitilzation

If you downloaded the paid version of Resolve Studio it will ask for a key. If you download the free version without Studio in the name, it won't.
You missed the new audio tools 😊... They are in the beta.
You just need to click on the audio track and you'll see them in the inspector.
On the edit page or Fairlight page.

Hey Jamie, hope you are well. Thanks for all the great Videos since the last chat. By no means am I asking you this question and will hold you responsible if I DO go ahead, but how dangerous is it for my Projects if I use the Beta software for DR 19. I am itching to try a few of the new features and well versed in what a Beta is ie: Could have bugs/issues, but from the past research I have found, usually DR Betas are pretty good and don't trash your Projects etc. Now I know probably someone out there has had maybe a major issue, but being the expert I trust, what do you reckon?! :) I would never use the IPhone beta programmes no way, but could DR Beta really damage some of my Projects if I use it? Honest response as always please :) thanks man.
If you have paid projects you’re working on then I wouldn’t switch just to make sure and wait until there’s a “stable” release.

Bro, since you come from a music production background, can you make a tutorial on how to make an audio muffled effect and an ending eco effect at the end of a spoken word? In general, would be awesome to learn more about Fairlight to enhance our videos.
I already made one about 3-4 years ago. Audio muffled sound effect technique is what I titled it as. As for as an echo effect theres so many ways to achieve that.

Is this update going to work slow? I updated to the beta (I think) and it was running super slow so I had to downgrade it to 18

Why is your VO audio so vastly different from your shoot audio? (yes i know it was recorded differently, but this is a film person making/mixing this)
Two different mics. I usually film my intros using my SM7B but not this time
The remixer its there, you have to click on the track, where the name of the track is, select the track and it will show up, don't click the track on the timeline.
we need a titoral in subject of how we can create a viral short video like a pro using davinciresolve, because all videos on YT are using after effect
A viral video needs to have a good idea for a wide audience. Doesn’t matter what software you use.

Multi rotoscope node is much more important than you show us here. The main point of rotoscoping is not select all human in one roto, and other thing in second roto in one node. No. Rotostoping is about shape human in aprox. 20-30 shapes. It was kind of mess in fusion. Now this multiple roto node is node for much much better organization for rotoscoping when you have just 1 node for 1 subject and shapes are inside the node.... that's awesome.

Even though there is a thousand different ways to color grade. It would be nice to see someone take actual BMPCC6 or 4K Braw footage and color grade and show the steps. Right now I use a Polar Pro ND Filter and set all my color management up in settings. Drop in my footage and use the Camera Raw setting in Color Page to adjust and for the most part it comes out perfect. I dont see anyone that has made a video doing it my way.
Just an idea for a new video and i know that limits the viewership to only cameras with Braw.
I’m sure there’s videos of people doing that. But for me, I work with a ton of footage from different cameras so I do all my color management in the nodes in the color page with csts
