The rock and metal worlds have been acquainted with Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale for quite some time, but the rest of the music world is just getting familiar with her powerhouse vocals thanks to a pair of recent collaborations with electric violinist Lindsey Stirling and country superstar Eric Church.
Hale reached a wider audience this week, performing on national television with both acts. She teamed up with Church to perform 'That's Damn Rock and Roll' at the CMA Fest which aired on ABC, while she joined Stirling on NBC's 'America's Got Talent' to perform 'Shatter Me.'
Hale and Church will have a chance to recreate 'That's Damn Rock and Roll' on the concert stage more frequently this fall as Halestorm will join Church on the road. Their performance at the CMA Fest, which can be seen above, found the pair belting the poignant song, which while gaining steam in the country genre, definitely has some roots in rock as well.
Meanwhile, Hale joined Stirling on a homecoming of sorts, as Stirling got her first taste of fame as a competitor on 'America's Got Talent' several years ago. Though she didn't win, Stirling utilized the platform as a springboard for her career, becoming an Internet sensation, touring the world and releasing a pair of albums since.
The 'America's Got Talent' performance, which can be seen below, finds Hale performing at the front of the stage, while Stirling plays in mid-air before being lowered and grabbing the spotlight with her nimble fiddling.

I've lived in Eric Church's hometown of Hickory since 1988. I am 78 now and became a country music fan because of artists like Eric Church who puts so much soul into everything he sings. Been a fan of Halestorm for a while now too. I've listened to this duet more times than I can count. I feel like I was there. I agree with cliff4695.....this is still the best damn performance ever on the CMA stage.
I love this collaboration! So happy he let Lzzy shine! It shows what a great person he is.
When Lzzy comes on stage that's what she does. I've watched lots of her collabs and on a lot she'll actually hold back to not over sing her partner. Hey voice is amazing.

Around 2010, here in Providence at a club Lupo's, my friend was the bouncer, I got in free for Bullet For My Valentine, had no idea there was an opening act, I walk in, very small venue, Lzzy was singing "familiar taste of poison", BOOM, instant fan, I've seen them live since 3 times and August will be #4 at Mohegan Sun. I always turn people on to Halestorm by directing them to view them live on Jimmy Fallon. Funny thing is I'm quite sure neither Jimmy nor Selena Gomez knew who the heck Lzzy was...after hearing her, Selena literally pushed Jimmy out of the way to worship a real vocalist. 💣🔥👍

I am in RI, about 7-8 yrs ago I went to see Bullet For My Valentine at Lupos in Providence, Halestorm opened, they blew me away, when she sang Familiar Taste Of Poison I was hooked, saw them twice last summer at Lowell, MA and Mohegan Sun....Maria Brink was awesome too, I still love watching Halestorm live on Jimmy Fallon because you can tell Jimmy and Selena Gomez never heard of Lzzy, she blew them away, lol
Yaaaas! If you have a go to Connecticut do you sell a favor stay at the more expensive hotel and avoid that one in walking distance it is the most deplorable hotel I've ever stayed at... I'm in Billerica which is right next to Lowell . But perfect distance too maine,New Hampshire, Rhode island,Ny.. I've seen her everywhere but New York City.. I've been to a place on the outskirts of New York but not in New York City that'll be my next time I get to see Lizzy LOL
@@leighton082981 I am sitting here watching football, saw your comment, decided to reply: I sang in bands since the 70's, I really "get" singing, what Lzzy does is extremely difficult, now before this pandemic hit, I had tickets to see Haley Reinhart live at the Boston Winery April 4th, she cancelled on April 1st due to covid lockdowns, hey if you want to hear a great female vocalist from the 80's, she has a youtube music video, Fiona Flanagan "talk to me", great pipes (Billerica, home of Tom Glavine, lol)

I hate to break it to guys but this is playback. It’s not really a live performance.
For all you who love Lizzie, Joanna Cotton SUNG the background vocals on the album/cd. Lizzie screams, but then again,
she's a rock chic. Eric was trying to give
her props, as he has done for other female artists.
It's easy to SING in a sterile studio environment when every aspect of the recording is controlled.
You realize Eric picked Lzzy for this role AND, after this performance invited her band to open for him on a bunch of dates on his tour.
You say scream, and believe me she can but, I say power. If you're willing to give her vocal chops a chance outside of her own band's recordings, search "Lzzy Hale Mark Morten She talks to angels" for an awesome Black Crowes cover done during the pandemic or, "Halestorm Girl Crush" which is an acoustic live session of the Little Big Town hit.
Lizzy gave all shes got, while Eric should have just left the stage.
