- A few months ago I moved into my new studio. When I got here it was basically a garden shed, but after a fair bit of work, I've finally built my dream workspace. Despite what James thinks, I could not be happier.
A massive thank you to Oakywood!

If James roasts it, he usually loves it.
He's also going to go overboard with it because it's Lucy and he knows it'll be funny.
He's correct about the exposed wiring though.
Yep, otherwise hi doesn't care.
Something about "good enough to criticize." I don't remember the original quote but that's the essence.
Those exposed electrics were _properly_ atrocious, though, he wasn't wrong about that at all. Those were frightening.
James May is the uncle we all wish that we had but that only Lucy is lucky enough to have!
Lucy Brown is the illegitimate daughter James had with a Dacia Sandero
2:55 : "hang on, are those not real film posters?" - clearly impressed.😦
"No, I made them." 😀
"They're terrible."😠
Yea I was laughing out loud haha 😆
They really are bad.
@@Gobbersmack So is your face.
They are not terrible!
@@n2091m They truly are, not even hating.
"I'm not going to touch it" as he nearly touches it 😂
Love your videos Lucy! Even a roast from James May is an honor to have. You're lucky to have the opportunity to work closely with this absolute legend.
Seriously? He’s lucky to have you!
I have to say, Lucy's eye for production value in videos has significantly improved over the years. The cinematography here feels like Architectural Digest. I know it's only one girl and a camera, but then again, what isn't these days.
Just James May doing James May things
Love it
It would be amazing to watch James take a deep dive into the latest changes and enhancements you've implemented. Fingers crossed we won't end up in flames! 🔥🤭
Lucy, see if Oakywood will let you visit the factory in Poland. Take James with you - he would like it and together with your commentary, it would be a good video.
Honestly, I'd watch a 100 episode series of James visiting various cool factories and observing how they make things, having a go himself, and then rating / admiring their tool drawer setups.
The last part about the tool drawer setups is absolutely filthy! He should definitely do that.
Wow this is ncredibly impressive Lucy, I can't imagine the amount of work that must have gone into this - brilliant result!
Well done! Congratulations on the awesome space!
What a fantastic space. I am really impressed with the posters you made (I love the Lake Louise one, as that’s near me and I love it there). It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who hangs on to boxes far longer than I should. 😂
Everything I was going to say you took care of lol
I love the studio - it should be entered into Shed of the year!
Thanks Lucy, as a content creator that also works in a small space, I too am constantly tripping over lightning tripods. That scaffolding idea is genius
Hi Lucy, I think you have made a fantastic studio which looks as if you put alot of time and effort into the design and decor. It would be nice to see a behind the scenes video of it being used. Keep up the great videos.
Removing that wood-burning stove would've been incredibly daft. It's a brilliant way of keeping warm. We've got 3 of them to heat our entire house, even in the depths of winter in Sweden ^^
Was looking for a good desk. Those look perfect
Really liking the new workspace, it's so nice to have an environment away from home to work in. I may steal the 'holiday/memory poster' idea; that is just genius, and they look excellent. Thanks for this little tour 👍
Studio looks great. Given me some ideas. I never thought about creating own poster and then getting it printed - may do similar if I actually have any good photos for any trips.
Great studio Lucy. You put a lot of experience and thought into it.
James will have to pay "Studio Time" now! Cheers 🇨🇦
Looks Amazing! People who don't work at home don't understand how important it is to have a dedicated "work space". It does wonders for your mental health.
"I fixed all of his issues..." That is a monumental task, Well done!
With all of the craziness going on in the world today, a bit of quiet normalcy is nice. Admittedly typing this while preparing for my next trip. Oh, checked out that desk site. I'm definitely going to order on from there when I get back. My current computer desk is over 20 years old, and I was looking for a high quality replacement. Thanks, Lucy!
Have to get the James Approval - Cool Vid thanks Lucy
Having the lights mounted to a ceiling system is HUGE - especially in a small space. Brilliant solution. 🙏🏼
That is so cool! It's also a crazy amount of work and dedication to give yourself the sort of space you wanted. Hilarious to have James review it; you _know_ he really loves it. As for that little space you're not sure what to do with - food/drink space; just a place to make tea, coffee, and have some snacks, I think.
Killer space!
love your videos lucy keep it going
Love the videos, Lucy Brown! Fantastic work on the studio! Capt Stogie can leave Lucy Brown alone. 😅😂😂
Love to see Lucy build her own working studio. I used to co-own a studio with two other friends, the reason is the same as Lucy explained in her video, they are very expensive, so we share the expenses with three of us. A good studio does imspire many good works. Congradulations!
3:51 showing Canada some love 👍
what a cool place
Looks Awesome Lucy!
Lucy your videos are now my favourite thing on TH-cam ❤ & I didn't even knew who you are a month ago but here I am scrambling to catchup all your vlogs ❤
Love the new office. Really creative and clearly a lovely place to be.
The fact that you had the amazing james may gin posters up to commemorate your amazing shots you done for the LA gin. It's so lovely you got to build a comfortable space to do work in
Love the film posters! Looks a nice space to work in, good job Lucy.
What a great space looks fantastic and the outside looks beautiful. Nice work 👍
Great workspace, very well thought out and it obviously works well. And don't worry about that motoring journalist chap that pops by from time to time. He means well, really.
Posters are great Lucy! We too bought a little thermometer thing for our office. It was the first thing on the wall. Its always fun to see 1degC on it in winter.
Nice setup! 👌
Looks like an inviting creative space to do work in. The wood-burning stove is a big bonus!
I'm so inspired to make my own studio looking at what you've done. great work Lucy Brown
Lucy we love you.
Love the organisation, the practicality and the look of it all. Very satisfying to watch. Love the movie posters too.
I agree with James: the posters are great.
Nice house, nice garden, nice studio. Well done !
Your posters are incredible! I didn’t realize you had made them!
what a nice working space, congratulations
Very nice studio, congrats on a great job.
Well done Lucy, don’t take any notice of that grumpy old James 😂, it looks wonderful.. Gooday from AUS 🦘🇦🇺
Great work space, it looks ideal for your work needs.
Those posters all look fabulous! I should have done something like that in my apartment, I wish I had 10% of your creative talent! Well done!
Lucy, I love it. But you know it already :D
Lucy,you’ve done a terrific job,the studio is lovely😊Jon
Hi Lucy. Nice and inspiring workspace, and that solid oak desk is a work of art..! ☺
The only thing I don't like about the new studio is the mint green (or 'light blue' as you call it) paper roll, which you said you want to replace. I would suggest a warm color to take its place, like a 'sandy' shade.
PS: I rather like your own movie poster designs and the idea of presenting holiday snaps in that way.
Good job Luce, looks great.
Great Job Lucy!! It has been wonderful being on your journey with you. I'm so proud of you and your success thus far. You've come a long way, and no doubt you will continue to succeed. 🌹
Nice job Lucy Brown!
Lucy is a Legend
I love your videos. I love your colour grading , you sweet voice and overall the content . The place looks super good. Thanks for recs on the desk. I am considering it.You should consider some desk speakers.
My goodness Lucy what an amazing studio and your garden and amazing house. You must be so successful owning that estate you live on. Good on you.
I'm jealous. That is a very well thought out studio! I'm going to steal your scaffolding idea.
Well Done ! Major Upgrade for Yourself, Good Work n Lovely Designs
That is a Fabulous work space Lucy ...
Great video as always. While James was walking through your shed, I couldn't stop thinking about his quotes from the Top Gear garden special...😁 👍
Lucy, if you make those posters, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to sign your name on it! It’ll probably worth some hefty money in the future! It’s art! plus it’s your art! I’m sure lots would love to acquire them, if you decide to make it a business.
great video
Lucy Brown is a highly talented visual artist, always a joy to see here on TH-cam, not to mention gorgeous, great smile.
Looks GREAT Lucy! I particularly love that you change out your artwork and have all those posters of the places you've visited. Fantastic job!
I love lucy's deco and also Jame's reaction is 😂😂😂
Laptop editors unite! The trackpad workflow is king!
Really well thought out and flexible space, another of your hidden talents exposed, studio design. Well done, again, and entertaining video. Thanks.
Looks great! Should maybe get a small electric radiator or something to keep the temp moderate preventing condensation build up or manky smell for when you're not using the studio and keeping a fire going.
Scaffolding was a smart idea - I did something similar myself with aluminium poles and threaded rod to suspend from the floor above! Very neat and tidy setup you've made 😀
That's a pretty posh garden shed lol.
Somehow, that was the very best of Lucy, and the very best of James. Lovely workspace, too!
James is jealous Lucy. 😋 That is one Awesome Studio!! 👍🍺
That looks fantastic !
Great setup! What about a 'green screen' for your third panel/wall? Would provide a lot more options when editing!
Viewing your videos is always time well spent!
Congratulations on your new space. While it works for you , it also looks fabulous, so that's fantastic.
Love the duck/goose light 😂
Such a lovely, clean, usable space. I'm envious. James was right about the junction box, but other than that he was being a fusty knob. I'd recommend either white or black - the most useful backdrops I've used as a photographer, but greenscreen might be more practical for you. Bravo!
I would buy those film posters! Love the studio, Lucy!
Lovely studio getting there. One thing, not sure if that wood burning stove has the metalbestos stainless steel double skin insulated flue installed directly on to the stove. If it is you must remove it immediately. It should never be installed directly on to the stove. It cannot handle the intense heat and will burn out. There should be at least 600mm of cast iron or stove enamelled pipe directly fitted to the stove then a single to double wall adapter fitted. If I am wrong my apologies.
Great space❤🎉
Such a great use of a backyard shed, I’ve said to many that while working from home I would need to get up get in the car drive around the block and arrive back home for work just to get some time out of the house. This is a great solution to that.
That’s a great setup
you look like a 90s norwegian black metal head. ❤ keep it up, love your work
I have a new studio and this video is very helpful. You had a great idea moving the lighting off the floor; I think I will copy your idea and mount the lighting on the ceiling.
Great video, keep up the great content!
Well done, and good luck. Although I want to see it again after a year of hoarding (you kept a mini pumpkin? Really?)
scaffolding for the ceiling rig is a good. I've seen one place where they hung ladders horizontally from the ceiling and hung lights etc from them.
That's your admin space, that little corner. Perfect for the "necessary drudgery" stuff.
What a smart studio Lucy. Good idea to have James in to critique it before the finish. I bet it's an inspiring space to work and think. Looking forward to seeing your next vlogs
The videos with James from there look class.
What a great looking and functional workspace.
Looks very nice.
Looks awesome
The Aviation Gin was a lovely touch.... 😂 And those Nolan posters are blooming fantastic work.... ❤
James still loves a shed, and at its heart its a shed.
