I couldn't help but notice we got to the part where you partially pulled out the key cartridge, and then skipped over the process of that part going right back into backing out and putting it back together? 😀
The problem is these are a chip key and any Ole replacement isn't nessarily going to work. If you don't have the right chip key replacement your 91 S10 isn't going nowhere.
you should have mentioned you need a steering wheel puller and will also have major issues with the stupid clip.... there's a reason I only bought 1 chevrolet in 1991 and it was this POS.... BC Chevrolet's are JUNK and having to go through this BS again to change another ignition confirms it...

And another lock cylinder video instead of the ignition starter switch video I'm looking for...
the igintion starter in the distributor>
Me too I need to lower the column to replace the switch not the lock cylinder
Did you puke removing the ring?
@@sandracarrick9906 Did you ever find a video on that ? I have the same issue...
@@ISEEORBS no i never did. I had a friend help me.
This is lock cylinder removal, not ignition switch. The ignition switch is an electrical component located down further on the steering column.

Totally incorrect. This is not a VATS chip key. How do I know? I own one, and I've been in GM parts for over 20 years.

this is an absolutely ridiculous design, to have to remove all these parts just to access the screw that locks the cylinder in.
Not really. It made em slightly harder to steal.
