    Thanks for posting this video. My 89 S10 was the exact same set up. I too was trying to figure out how to get that 13mm nut off without moving the arms. Vise grips worked like a charm and I got that nut off.

    I found this video today and was planning on replacing the motor. Great video tips on how to get the cowling off. Another good tip about replacing the washer nozzle..... I will order the hose and nozzle when I pick up the motor from autozone. Thank you so much for these videos Dan! Your video will help me keep this old truck on the road for another 30 years. This was last of the small mechanical issues to fix .... then I take it in to get a new paint job to restore it to its original condition.

    Thanks for posting this; I have an ‘85 S-10 and the wiper motor just up and died (how rude of it). Worked one day; didn’t the next. Troubleshot to the motor, and I couldn’t believe that O‘Reilly had one in stock! This video was very useful. Appreciate it.

    Appreciate the tips and everything. I'm about to do the same thing to mine. I found a nice 91 Tahoe edition s10. V6 5spd. 2 owner truck. Very little rust. An I was wondering if you had ever messed with the throttle body injection system? Mine seems to be sluggish every so often. Other than that an exhaust gasket I don't have to do much. I'll be replacing the passenger side window track in the door. Bought a complete door used, for parts. Truck has 212k miles on it.

      No I never had any problems with the throttle body system.

    Im obviously late to the party here but i got a 89s10 tahoe, 4.3v6. Wipers just up and quit, on the windshield, still that way. No fuses blown, mother board looks good, to Mr. So solder issues (that was a option from things i was reading). But im guess the motor ? Just wondering what your experience was with yours.

    • @loggingtheozarks
      @loggingtheozarks 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just curious if yours is like mine today. Does the relay on the circuit board make noise when you try the wipers?

    • @jonathanhankins790
      @jonathanhankins790 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@loggingtheozarks you mean when it quit ?
      If so, i didnt pay attention to it. I dont think but ill look later.

    • @jonathanhankins790
      @jonathanhankins790 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sprry im late sir bit no it don't make a noise. I wanted to ask yiu what u did to get the linkage bolt loose ? I see u held it with something but i can figure out how to keep mine still to get loose ?

    • @loggingtheozarks
      @loggingtheozarks 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jonathanhankins790 Mine was actually locked up so it was easy to get loose. But I would imagine you could put a small piece of wood under it. I think you may have a circuit board issue.

    • @jonathanhankins790
      @jonathanhankins790 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@loggingtheozarks i thougjt i seen in your videos that your linkage was moving when tring to get that bokt lose,so that's why i was asking. The circuit board is just as much as the whole motor for me so and its still the original one from 89 so i figured why not.

      Dan Jarrett got it done had to overcome some obstacles but it’s fixed. The brackets that hold the things the arms are attached to are both broken so they wobble do you happen to know if one can get just those brackets or do you have to buy the whole wiper assembly? Thanks again

      It did not go well at all. Put a 2nd board in and it immediately fried a resister. Turns out, I'm pretty sure the problem is in the switch as the low and high wipers are on at the same time sending too much voltage to the board. That switch is in the steering column, been there done that before tightening the universal joint so tomorrow more fun tearing down the column but not as far this time... hopefully. Thanks for the good tidings tho.

    • @danjarrett
      @danjarrett  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimhamilton6209 Sorry to Hear about all that. I too Have Had my share of Steering column Problems. It's a Tilt Column and Mine is Loose but seems impossible to get to the Bolts to tighten up. Also My Horn Shorted out and would drain the battery down over night. so I had to Pull the Fuse for that. I Hope I don't ever have any Problems with the remaining Electronics in the Column. I don't know If I even want to work on any of that.
      Best of Luck.

    but I have a problem when putting the blades, they no longer stay when I put them in the normal position, they go down to the hood or come out of the windshield, I don't know how to make them stay in their position
    do you think you can help me?

      Be sure to mark the area where they were in factory settings. That way you can easily adjust if needed. 1 tooth on spline goes a long way

    Next time you can replace motor without removing all that other stuff. Take 3 bolts out of motoer and it will fall out far enough for you to remove the stuborn nut. Also there is a fix to circuit board, iLL SHARE WITH YOU IF YOU NEED IT. OPPS HIT CAPS LOCK.
