My favorite part of this story real or not is how after the king died the people grabbed the bull and chucked it in the ocean.. No one was like " now its my turn to use it" they just wanted the thing gone

I wish the people put the king in the bull ☹️ but at the same time, I would still kind of feel bad for him but honestly, if you don’t show mercy the other people than God knows no show mercy to you

@@macgmol159 being ripped off your limbs by being tied to four horses. getting sawed while you are tied downards, so the saw will start on your genetals. To be honest, beheading is one of the more "humane" way to get executed, believe it or not.

I always wonder how we humans in the past were able to come up with these extreme methods of torture but I do see how it was efficient in scaring people to not commit any crimes and how the methods of torturing/ un aliving people have changed. Keep up the great work!

Besides just the sheer, excruciating, unimaginable pain,
there is also the psychological effect of it being in an enclosed space and pitch black.
Don't know if this is worse or getting digested alive while fully conscious.

@@parthkadam2147 Being digested alive means concentrated stomach acid is poured on you while you slowly dissolve while also being in a pitch dark enclosed environment. The ending of The Borderlands movie come to mind or Deep Rising
And it smelled like burnt and rotten meat.
I could see someone being locked in there simply to threaten them.

I remember learning about this from my high school Latin teacher telling us about Ancient Rome. It was not hard to instantly understand this was probably the worst torture ever.

I'm 100% sure whenever someone was cleaning one of these from the inside, the hatch was closed and a torch was lit outside it as a prank.

@@zacharyguilfoyle1435 the fact that jesters have existed for almost as long as humans have had any sense of humor. I'm certain there was at least one moment in history where a new cleaner was tricked by some veteran guards or cleaners to climb in, referring to the smell inside of one. A newbie with no previous experience of burning metal bulls's aftermath could quite easily think it's a standard procedure. Then CLANG hatch is shut and a fire is started. If they have witnessed the execution itself, this is going to most likely traumatize them with the jokesters getting something to laugh at.
@@markomalmi7989 No doubt about that, like with a new PVT in the motor pool that is tasked with collecting an “exhaust sample” with a trash bag by the NCO’s in his unit, and it’s hilarious to watch. Well it’s the same idea, but with less psychological trauma I suppose.
Pretty sure that the one who will prank will actually get traumatized after that.

This is why, when you invent or build such a thing you as creator also build a way out of it or at least hide a 45. magnum somewhere.
Of all the ancient torture devices, this one is a pretty bad way to go.
I once watched a movie entitled 'immortals' lead by Henry Cavill where there was a scene in which three virgins where cooked alive inside a brazen bull. That was the first time a movie or a movie scene traumatized me, although I have watched multiple gruesome films before. The thoughts of being roasted alive feels more terrifying than crucifixion or any other.
For me it’s rat torture because I thought it felt sensitive around my stomachEven though it might not be the most painful

Edit: I have been enlightened to the fact that he didn't want to make the brazen bull in the first place and that the king forced him to. Means the king is even worse.
Been a while but I'm pretty sure the guys was just a iron worker who was told to make it by the king.. Not really his fault its not like he made it for fun.

You are 110% right, I also think like you, to die without suffering. Unfortunately, last August I had a heart operation, (triple bypass) I hoped it was the right time, but again...unfortunately I didn't die, and now after 4 months I still feel the consequences. The only good thing in my story is that they sedated me so much that I woke up a couple of hours later than they expected, but I felt no pain when they cut my chest, and they pulled out the veins in my left leg that because I was under heavy sedation.🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

My Goodness, even in America itself, courts are biased against men when it's a woman complaining.
I remember seeing this at the St. Augustine torture museum and wondering: the interior of the bull isn't air-tight, so wouldn't the smoke of the fire, and the smoke of the old material in the bull cause the occupant to pass out and/or asphyxiate from smoke inhalation?
i would also think the brain would boil in the skull before it would get to the point of flesh falling off the bones and still being alive.

@@nyghteshadow7101 That's still gruesome. As soon as enough water turns into steam the victim's eyeballs would pop out of their sockets like a cork on a champagne bottle.
There was a little pipe whistle at the mouth so the victim could get fresh air from that, but either way, they would probably pass out from the other factors too

I'm fairly sure your body will shut down of a heart attack etc once the temp really starts to rise, the air will be too hot to breath in after a minute or so of the fire being lit.

It has not been proven. But pretty terrifying if it did ever exist and put to use

It sounds terribly brutal but I’m not sure how you determine it was the most painful in history. To me I believe the most painful torture in history is the one you are trapped in at the time. Definitely a terrible way to have to die though.

The first five minutes of stubbing my toe is torture enough.
Stubbing your toe on round objects hurts less. The foundation my mattress is sitting on the edges are round & I have stubbed my toe a few times, you can basically just feel body part hit but no pain because instead of hitting an object that has an edge your toe or kneecap or whatever just slides right off.
Needless to say best $165 I ever spent
