    I love reading all the comments, pros and cons, keep them coming. This was Bill's first flybarless system and as we all know the fear of the "unknown". I posted this video 3 years ago since then technology is much better.

    @Quastii, you are correct, in the video we thought it was the link that failed. On the Vibe, there are two canopy "rods" that connect both canopy standoffs. One did come off and I saw it fall that's when I yelled. We did a full bench test checking if all servos were moving correctly. I believe that Bill (owner of heli) thumbed it in after I yelled. The link did come off because of the crash. Thanks for you comment and your sharp eye.

    Bill, the owner of the heli did infact connect and we did check if all was working correctly. He when full negative pitch when we yelled thta something fell off. That's where the problem was. First flybarless sys. is always scary.

    I think.. (I know its an old film) nothing came off, the compensation settings on the gyro ( wrong direction) and your friend screaming wait wait wait caused the crash....

    the video slowmo clearly showed the link pop off the blade grip ...would not have matterd if it was set up correct or not

    The part that came off was a canopy standoff, not an important part, but it freak us out.

    Hi...correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like when you set up the fbl system, it was correction in the wrong direction.

    Sorry to see it end up that way.

    I think it is the setting of the flybarless system has some problems.

    Always let an experienced pilot test it first. You can tell if the cyclic or rudder is "wrong" before even lifting off just by jiggling the sticks. Newbies can't tell and just try to lift off.

    BULL shit. The heli would have started oscillating violently. The blades were tracking perfectly until it hit the ground.

    That helicopter kicked its own ass….

  • @AphexTwinII
    @AphexTwinII 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    The pitch link fell off because the blade struck the ground. That's what you call it BTW, not "this thing".
    It's the blind leading the blind at your field.

  • @Quastii
    @Quastii 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @RudyAirlandHobbies Well, not that it matters, but to me it seemed you yelled because you saw the helicopter tip to over to one side. The link fell off later. Before 3:30 that link is still about to fly through the air so you couldn't actually have seen that. The canopy standoff couldn't have flown off either, as that's clearly impact damage.
    I'd say aileron correction was reversed indeed.

    Mean is right. The commenters are mean. The flyer's dear friends are cruel. The poor guy put so much into that model, and a training bar on its maiden would have avoided the tipover. Hindsight etc.... Helis rock!!!

    if you had problems like that from the start. shutdown and figure out what it is. instead of risking it.

    Grab the heli by the head, pitch at neutral, bank heli right, if swash doesn't go left it's wrong. Same thing pitching back, swash should pitch forward. Simple simple.

    i guess you should'nt have shouted when something came off the heli. just like in a car when a passenger suddenly shouts and panics, that can rattle the driver and make him break concentration

    Wait wait, this sux when you see it coming.... bugger. I got a few heil's and it seemed doomed from the tip as i see in your comments. But hey, this is what you tube is for....... seeing what happens in in the real world not just on simulators and learning from others mistakes (not rubbing it in) but just how much is involved in setting up these fun machines. Should have checked it when you had the opinion of 'its not ok' sorta comment. But its easy to pick shit.

    the owner is foolish and he made a stupid decision when he declined the fellow flyer's advice " you wanna check it " with a HARSH " NO" regarding sensor reactions on the swash.

    must see? lol.... just a ver bad build heli.... you can see that mainblades doesnt run well and straight (shaking).... sorry but thats a typical beginner fail, if you dont see that the mainblades doesnt run well.... i bet the setting of the swashplate was the problem (to much vibrations shot away some part of it)... a flybarless system NEVER let the heli explode like this....it was a mechanic problem for sure.... good luck next time!

    I think it is irresponsible to let old noobs like him fly helis this big. Should be a license for that.
