I have been waiting for about 5 weeks for my switch version to come in the mail. I would never send a dollar to limited runs, I couldn’t find a single good review. Scam

Scam is too strong of a word. More like unreliable. You WILL get your title eventually. And it's Way better paying the pre-order amount than the aftermarket amount that is for sure.

I saw a video they released "D" for the 3do and it was just burnt CD-R's with a label on it lmao

Great vid. *There's similarities, but I see a big difference 'tween Working Designs & Limited Run.* At 1st, LRG simply wanted to release digital only releases in physical form, some by themselves (Mighty Rabbit Studios); whereas W.D. is one of the 1st publishers to bring Japanese only titles to the West (before Xseed, even), packed with extra goodies. Thankfully I still have all mine (Lunar 1 & 2, Albert Odyssey, etc). W.D. (now Gaijinworks) published many great games by other devs.

Cool vid, the presentation of Working Designs titles was way above most other publishers back in the 4th - 6th gens. Just a quick clarification though, Working Designs was a publisher, they handled translations of some really cool games we wouldn't have gotten stateside otherwise. I only have Dragon Force in my collection and would like to add the Sega Ages Collection, but I'm still sort of kicking myself for canceling my Magic Knight Rayearth pre-order. Sometimes, their translations and additions to games went a bit too far, but gaming is generally better overall for everything the company did.

I feel the same about Limited Games, however, as game companies push you to digitally, companies like them may be all we have in the end for collectors or those that value physical copies. Still have my Raystorm copy I bought back in the 90s. Alundra was so good! I was so disappointed with the second one when it came out. 😂

Well I'm not sure I would draw the direct line comparisons to Limited Run but it is something to think about. Because Working Designs is/was a publisher just like Limited Run in the sense they don't make their own games. Working Designs was a curator and kept a focus, while Limited Run's original intent wasn't to really curate it was just a way to bring physical games to indies who didn't have the capital to create the distribution. Limited Run weren't as discerning with the quality of games. Their mission statement is different.
The BIGGEST difference thou is the lion share of LR exclusives and manuals are low quality. There are a few standouts with the artwork and packaging but that is far and few between now a days.
Looking forward to hearing what your update will be on having more time to play. I'm always looking for that myself.

I think emulation defeated the purpose to purchase physical format, let alone reproduced

Nope not everyone wants to emulated. Look at what's happening to digital only games? You technically never get full ownership of a digital only game.

They make some games. Like Saturday morning RPG. They said it’s limited print but it’s not and they have a major delay in pre-orders to shipping orders. I’m talking about months to even a year. There’s other companies that have the same business idea but print wayyyyy faster
