I'm a survivor of type 1 diabetes for forty years
I've had wonderful medical care and years of great inventions that makes caring for health so much easier than it had been. When I became they didn't even have glucucometers. I thank all medical researchers that have made my life easier!!!

I've had Diabetes Type 2 since the year 2000. For 22years! Am.I going to die from Type 2? I don't use insulin. I am 62years old! They say its All in THE CONTROLLING OF WHAT YOU EAT! But TYPE 1 you know they dont produce any insulin none! & must inject numerous times a day & 2 different types of insulin. Before they put anything in their mouth to eat/ swallow! I thank God I have TYPE 2. I watch what I eat. Mainly no sweets or starches. Andd take my diabetes meds religiously on time as prescribed for 22years. That's it! And the portions should be not to large. They say 80% of the disease can be controlled thru your lifestyle eating. But I think they are talking. More about TYPE 2. than TYPE 1 because Type 1 is so much harder to keep in check. So I guess some people give up THE CONTROLL! OH & you have to stay OFF ALCOHOL & CIGARETTES. SO having Type 2. I controll. And I don't have ups & downs. And don't need to check myself as much. Do you think with my Type 2 in check. I stopped smoking & drinking about 15years ago. I watch what I eat. Do you think I could just drop dead all of sudden from a Controlled Type 2 for 22 years. I take my meds & I don't need insulin. I am not the kind that needs a piece of Candy because thank god I don't have highs & lows. Let me tell you from all these Celebrities shown. I know about some that did not control squat. And admitted they were alcoholics & overeaters! Alcohol & insulin & eating sweets and starches don't mix. That is what causes their deaths. I don't wanna name names. But from the Celebrities shown I know some of the ones that did not take care of themselves & follow the regimen especially for type 1. Its like you don't die from Aids but complications of something that comes up because of now not taking your Aids Meds. I know with Diabetes the heart suffers from the disease. So what is your taking. If you're in control of type 2 diabetes. And mean total control by meds & correct food take in.

🤔Interesting tribute for sure. Most people will experience diabetes if they live long enough, and countless other health issues also. But that is the whole thing. Most people will not live long enough. No one ever gets out of this world alive 😪.

My mother died of diabetes but I also feel that it was the medications that killed her above the disease. The medication’s were very hard on her. And I am constantly at the edge of having and not having but I refuse to take medication and I think that is what saves me

Stay away from Avandia and Metaformin. After sniffing me, my Border Collie told me in uncertain ways she told me to check my glucose meter. I did and my sugar level was high. Another time, she "told" me it was low and herded me to my pantry where I kept my sweets. My dr. confirmed that my dog was right. I miss Tess.

You did right thing the insulins and the pills that they give people in the hospital to go home with when they inject that stuff inside their body is good to do it once in awhile but not all the time the doctors want you to do it every day and when you do it everyday what they fail to realize that the medicines are too strong just like the medicine can save you it can actually kill you as well you have to take them once in awhile not every day every day your body can't take so much medicine you just die and that's why you still alive because you didn't take too much you don't talk when you needed to my everyday because your doctor told you to like your mother did @theRhondaebayer

Diabetes is primarily Caused by high sugar intake. Please keep it to 4 teaspoon a day. Sugar is toxic and a type of drug.

Resistance training and intermittent fasting, along with a healthy diet of leafy green vegetables, walnuts, pecans and macadamian nuts. Salmon and chicken, lean meats. Also get 7-8 hours of sleep and try to reduce stress

Diet with emphasis on fiber, low carbs and no sugar would have helped. Doctors today don't really speak too much on how to take care because a diet rich in fiber and protein will help

Coming up on Jan 5th 2024 I will be celebrating 26 years fighting type 1 diabetes. I think most providers I see are shocked to find out I have had diabetes so long and the only medication I take on a daily basis is my fast acting insulin via pump...advancements in technology is making living a long, healthy life possible for us diabetics.
