I am 69 and I got 46/50. This has little to do with IQ. It is based on life experience and education....endless curiosity, self taught and a formal education, which is not everything.

I just turned 73 a few days ago and got 41 right. So much of what I know isn't because of my IQ. I've always been a reader of different genres, I love learning about new places (If I read about one in a book, I have to stop and Google it) and a decent public education. Even just watching interesting little You Tube videos will teach you things. I've learned all about Saville Row and how mens' suits are made and how Merino wool is becoming scarce. Add in being a lover of crosswords and just talking to people about different things and there you have it. Don't ever let someone chastise you for watching You Tube.

I have done lots of IQ tests and not one thing here would have had anything to do with it. Getting a high mark
    in a quiz on General
    Knowledge is not the
    same as having a high I. Q. 😊.
    General knowledge quizzes rely
on memory , and the ability
    to recall , i.e., remember ,
    knowledge . 🦉📖😊.
    I. Q. Levels are an indication
    of a person's ability
    to solve problems : typically
    puzzles they haven't
    necessarily seen before .
If a person has been introduced
    to I. Q. puzzles generally , e.g.,
as a child, they will do better later
    than if they have NEVER
    seen an I. Q. puzzle before 🤔.
Hope that explains the difference !
Best Wishes from "Brainy England" !
    ( and modest with it ! 😊)

Auroras are not caused solely by solar particles interacting with the Earth's magnetic field. The magnetic field guides them into the Earth's atmosphere along the field lines, whereupon they interact with the electrons in atoms of atmospheric molecules causing them to quantum leap to higher orbitals, and then release photons of light as they drop back down to lower energy state orbitals.

I am 74 years old and my score was 48 out of 50. June 6, 1944 at 6:00 AM was the beginning of the "Second Front" on the European continent, the "turning point" of the war against Germany as part of the Axis powers, during World War II. The "First Front" having occurred in July 1943 with the landing of American troops from the North African Campaign (November 8, 1942 - July 1943) at Palermo, Sicily under the command of Lieutenant General George S. Patton and simultaneously at Gila, Sicily under the command of Major General Omar Bradley. This, the largest armada invasion in world history, code name: Operation Overlord (NOT OverLOAD) with the (North to South) deployment of soldiers landing on Gold and Sword beaches by the British and Austrailian troops under the command of Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montegomery; Juno beach by the Canadian troops; Omaha beach (the most deadly/highest casualties from the most intensive resistance) under the command of Major General Omar Bradley, and Utah beach under the command of Brigadier General Theodore Roosevelt Jr., (son of U. S. President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt) by the American troops. Notably absent was Lieutenant General George S. Patton who was "under house arrest" in Northeast England for a second incident wherein he slapped an enlisted soldier. This monumental plan devised by the Allied High Command after nearly a year of planning, under the direction of General Dwight D. Eisenhower as Supreme Allied Commander and General Walter "Bedell" Smith his Deputy, along with strategists from all the Allied powers. The German forces military commander in chief, Generalfieldmarschall (Field Marshal) Karl Rudolf Gerd von Rundstedt of the Fuhrer's staff, placed the Normandy fortifications under the most capable command of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, nicknamed the Desert Fox for his exploits during the North African Campaign.
I would not agree, however, that this quiz would be a measure of an individual's I. Q. Moreover, I would categorize it as a measure of a person's experiences, interest in reading and history, and level of education achieved.

Being a girl I was not supposed to be able to understand it but I got a perfect score on that and the boys were mad at me because I did better than they did. But I adored my dad and always followed him around and when ever he worked on the car I was right there learning and getting his tools and asking questions. My brother said he would never fix anything that he would hire it done so he refused to quit watching tv and go learn from dad. He never mowed his own grass either, never painted or hung wallpaper when he grew up. I did it all I didn’t want to be a ninny like my mother who was just worried about how she looked but I did her hair and makeup because she didn’t learn that either. I even cut my friends hair in high school. I just liked doing things. I never thought I was that smart I just didn’t like to be doing nothing. @@jlanderson21257 Yes my teachers worked really hard and they taught so much better than what my granddaughter gets now. In first and second grade she had no text books, no readers and math was 4 little addition problems like 2 +2 and 2 + 1 repeated day after day never progressing to harder. I would have an entire sheet with maybe 25 problems everyday in my math workbook, and we had a hardbound text book too, we had multiple readers. I was taught to read by phonics and they try to hand out a sheet of 100 words at the beginning of the year and they were told learn these and she could read because she would try to read books that didn’t just have those 100 words and she didn’t have the skills to sound out a word. I started homeschooling and I started over and taught her phonics and now she can read but she still lacks confidence. I think they deliberately want dumb American kids who are only interested in sex. They want those books in the schools.

I would agree with @MusicMike747 in that during your school age years if one had an interest in world history coupled with a good memory the result could be an above average score on this quiz. There are numerous specific dates to recall which tends to trip up a lot of people. I was surprised at the non multiple choice question of blood composition (I couldn't come up with platelets.) And subsequently even more surprised when it was the only one that wasn't multiple choice. I don't believe the minimum age stated plays that large a part in doing well for this quiz, but if it matters in another two months from now I shall be 59 yo. I generally do very well in test taking and quizzes, but only managed a score of 39/50 though I enjoyed it all the same.

I scored 45.75. I got three out of four on the blood question and when I saw the answer I remembered and it made me frustrated that I had forgotten about platelets, duh. I wonder if I hadn’t been playing it at 1.5 speed and had paused it, if I might have been able to drag it out of my brain somewhere. I’ll be 57 next Wednesday and I was surprised that I remembered so many things. The multiple choice certainly helped.

    • @Violet316
      @Violet316 ปีที่แล้ว +1

What is the feel-good stuff? I have grandchildren in school, when my granddaughter was in 4th grade she was loaded down with so much homework, that she basically got off the bus, had a snack started homework stopped to have dinner, back to homework until her mom came to pick her up at 8 pm. She had 3 different classrooms, not counting PE., they said it was preparation for middle school which started in 7th grade. Every state and school is different, you have no idea what children are actually going through. These kids have so many books in their book bags that it is giving them back problems. There is no feel-good stuff, don't believe all you hear from the repubs, they have no idea what schools are actually teaching, in fact, the high school in my area has really good elective courses for the Juniors and Seniors, not just shop classes, they have lawn mower repair, they have a greenhouse where they learn to run a nursery, a small animal's veterinary course, courses in learning to do hair, home ec is now a culinary course where they learn about the restaurant food industry. These courses are for those who are not looking to go into higher education so that they can have a trade when they leave high school. So you have no idea what goes on in any of the schools today.
