Thank you for the detailed info about fabric paint and the correct way to apply and wash them. Hope you make some new videos soon, maybe painting on denim fabric. Thank you again.
Thank you for the informative videos...out of interest, what would be the effect of tumble drying the painted items, please? I have some fabric paints that advise against tumble drying but I think that the problem can't be the heat as the paint is set with heat...do you think that the extra abrasion of a tumble drier would be an issue?
Friction and moisture generated during tumble drying is a problem. Friction is probably worse, yes. For example, in the washing machine, I always wash clothes painted with textile paints inside out and in a laundry bag, and the color will last as long as the life of the fabric. But laundry is put in the dryer without a laundry bag, and then nothing protects the color.
Which name brand to paint on denim jacket? There are soo many brands, it’s a mind blower. I’ve watched your great, informative video over and over. Many thanks!
I made this video that I would have liked to see myself when I was just starting to paint. Nice to hear that it helps. In my opinion, one of the best paint is Pebeo. Kreul Javana, Deka and Marabu has also done well in jeans even after washing. There are some brands that I havent tried jet. I have heard, that Jacquard fabric paints are very good. When painting on dark colored jeans, be sure to choose paint for dark fabric (opaque).
Do you dilute the fabric paint with fabric medium and water? And did you wash the leftover paint on the pallate or does we able to use it for later? Thanks
I dilute with water. If there is a lot of paint left, I cover it with plastic wrap for later. Must be airtight. But otherwise, I prefer to take small portions for coloring and then throw away the leftovers.
Since I was not in a hurry, I let it be for 3 days. If there is a thick layer of paint, it would be good to let it dry for a day or two. Be sure to iron through a thin cotton cloth so that the paint does not stick to the iron.
What do you mean? It can be washed. For now, I can recommend that it is necessary to turn inside out before washing and then wash in the washing machine up to 40°C (=104°F), even better if 30°C (cold wash) with low spin. Will it wash off? When the fabric paint is high quality and everything is done exactly according to the instructions and washed gently, the painting lasts the entire life of the garment.
@@kluukart many thanks! I’ve painted jeans and jackets but they are stiff! I used acrylic paint with medium. Such a disappointment. I will try your paint suggestions. (If I can remember brand.)😵💫thank you!!!
It also depends how thick the paint layer is. If you paint light colored or even white jeans with textile paints for light fabrics the result is most flexible. Pebeo brand is a sure choice. I wish you success in your testing.

Can i use fixative spray to seal it?
The paint can only be fixed by heating.
how much time after painting you waited before ironing ?
