    Hi! I want to paint a black cotton sweatshirt with fabric paint, and I did the white undercoat as you suggested, but in less than 1 hour the fabric absorbs all the white paint and I can't really see my drawing anymore. Do you have any tips for me? I added a bit of water to the paint before using it because I saw you doing it, I thought it was a good idea but the result didn't satisfy me and I'm desperate for advices :')

    • @Dariacreative
      @Dariacreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well that is thing I wish I explained in my videos.The tip here - draw just the shape of the image you are gonna paint then fill it with white color. And once it dry draw all the inner lines on top of this undercoat.It's easy to draw on white surface. Or you can use carbon paper to transfer all the inner lines

    • @Dariacreative
      @Dariacreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And I use water when it's necessary. If I see that paint is too opaque and it's hard to apply it and also I want to make thin layer for undercoat- then I add water. If your paint is already liquid enough you don't need extra water

    • @carlottaferronato4750

      Okay so I tried again some hours ago, and this time I'm actually pretty satisfied with the result; in my head, the white paint was brighter against the black fabric, but I think that it still came out pretty good, considering that this is more or less my first attempt on fabric. So, all I can say is a big thank you, Daria! Sending love from Italy💖

    I'm an artist who has been illustrating for years and I work with acrylic on canvas but is now considering on painting scenes on T-Shirts that I can sell. Is it possible to create the same effect and style say like Bob Ross style on a T-Shirt like a mountain scene in the country side? I have access to an airbrush and could I use an airbrush to create the background or sky hue and then go over that with fine brushes or a fan brush to create clouds mountains trees etc etc? Or could the paint become too thick like creating texture like snow on the mountain or texture on rocks or the leaves and bark on the trees? And if its too thick is it possible to work around that and get the same result and effect but with thinner paint? Thankyou and happy painting!

    • @Dariacreative
      @Dariacreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      th-cam.com/video/6xi5babX97E/w-d-xo.html check out this video I paint there Bob Ross atworks and trying to use the same tecniques :) you can create pretty the same effects but of course you should understand that fabric is not a canvas and you shouldn't use too much paint when for example you create snow on the mountains or texture on rocks. So to avoid thickness try to apply thin layers. And yes airbrush for the sky its a great idea , because not only sky layer will be very thin but also it will be much easier for you to create smooth transitions on the sky

      @@Dariacreative Thank you so so much that tutorial was perfect. I've been painting for a long time and Bob Ross is one of my all time favorite artist. But I don't work with oil I work in Acrylic which makes it even more satisfying for me. Your work is amazing. To know that on clothing I can create a Bob Ross like painting even using fabric paint is awesome. I'm pretty basic though when it comes to colors I use primaries and I get a huge range of colors out of red yellow and blue. And that's really all I need. But thanks again though for sharing that with me. Art is my passion. Boy I do wish I can show you some of my beautiful acrylic paintings.

    Hi Daria! Thank you so much for this video! Very helpful. I have a few questions please. Can you explain a little bit better how to fix a painting? And the other one is, when you wash your clothes, even if it's a painting where you used a lot of water( per example ) the watercolor effect, does it remain the same throughout the washings? Hope that I explained well. Thank you so much ✨🙏

    • @Dariacreative
      @Dariacreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fixing with iron. On the reverse side for 5 minutes or through some thin cloth. Iron shouldn't be too hot and ironing without steam. Water doesn't affect the quality of paint and color. color remains the same even after many washings:)

    I'm thinking of painting on a pair of sweatpants with jacquard fabric paint, and I noticed some say "textile" and some say "lumiere" or something else. is there a difference between them? Should I use textile fabric paint or one of the others for fleece sweatpants?

    Hi, how hot does the iron have to be to "set or fix" the colors on the painted clothes? Do you have a video actually ironing a jacket??? I would like to see the whole thing 😒

    • @Dariacreative
      @Dariacreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have some videos but I forgot which ones :))) because actually there is nothing complicated. Like simple ironing. The only thing which you should be careful about is to don't push iron directly on the artwork. So iron on the reverse side. Or through some thin cloth. Or you can use baking paper and iron through it :) In my todays video I will iron using baking paper
