    Thanks for your effort to change fishfarming. Many Norwegians are trying aswell, but we need a lot of help. You are doing a great job for the norwegian marine life.

    With regards to the seatrout, it is mentioned in the film that they are caught at night time.
    But next time you get a chance in Laerdal, try to fish the seatrout in bright sunshine in the middle of the day.
    Use a small black fly, size 8 or 10, or maybe even 12, and as thin a leader as you dare.
    Raymond Brooks made some simple, small black flies specifically for the seatrout - both tied on double and treble hooks, black body with gold rib, black tail and black wings - no hackle.
    They work excellent, also in bright sunshine during the day. Caught a few in Old Pastor on Voll beat, twenty some years ago...

    Curious if you have any books you would recommend for sea trout fishing tactics? I've had a couple of experiences and like you said here. Nearly impossible to catch during the day, but have had success swinging and stripping nymphs. I am really curious what sort of tactics you enjoy using during the night!

    Wow I wasn’t expecting that you guys also are struggling on fish population numbers.
    Amazing footage,.
    Dark is also key to have a chance to catch searun trout in my home waters, I always wonder wat this fish is so lethargy at day time?
    Keep up the good work!!

    Lovely video and place, but is there some possibilities to get a fishing card? Every year I write to the manager but no answer....

    GOD THE ALMIGHTY has made some very beautiful productive places on his beautiful earth but it seems that every place modern society can reach with their wicked machines soon is destroyed because of the GREED of humanity 💔 😢. Look at all those houses and roads, it's only a matter of time until the salmon runs are GONE!

    Is the Norwegian government making an effort to move the fish farms away from the native salmon????.

    • @frodinflies
      @frodinflies  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately they have not taken any efforts so far. It's hard to understand how the Norwegian politicians can let this happen. They have the responsibility for the fact that next generation will have NO Wild salmon to fish for! They sacrifice the fjords, ecosystems and wild fish for a bit of money - next generation will hold them responsible!

      @@frodinflies In North America one of the big problems is the by catch. The Thompson river in British Columbia once had 10000 steelhead come in . There was now only 160 fish that came in this last summer. The government allowed the trollers to harvest the Chum salmon but they also had a huge by catch of steelhead. It's insane to let this happen. The steelhead is a precious gamefish. People from all over the world came to fish here. Now they ruined it. The bycatch needs to be at an absolute minimum for all species of salmon. The king salmon numbers are down thru out Alaska. That's why it's imperative that we save our wild salmon. The biologists say it's ocean related to the low king salmon numbers in Alsaka. I hope they can make a comeback! I will make an effort to help you out. I will contact your fisheries people. Mark

      even in canada/america you have to pay to fish. What do you think a fishing license is?...like 99% of atlantic/baltic salmon rivers are pay to play... Even on the canadian east coast there's still lots of this... so if your catching true sea run atlantic's. Your almost always paying.
