- Join us on the opening days of one of the most classic rivers of all time - the mighty Vosso. The lower stretch is home to more stories about battles with giant fish than maybe anywhere else; the Bolstad beat. A fish wasn't considered truly big until it tipped the scales at 60 lbs, with 40 and 50 lbs catches being a regular occurrence, and even some enormous salmon exceeding 70 lbs. Though the river has diminished over time, mainly due to the catastrophic farms out in the narrow fjord, and is now merely a shadow of what it used to be, it still hosts some impressive fish in its classic pools. Despite challenging conditions with brutal temperatures and high pressure, reaching 30°C under a merciless sun, our relentless pursuit of the perfect drift finally paid off in the end.

Love watching a master at his best!! That 12kg Salmon was amazing! Cant wait to see more from last season!! Great video lots of information its such a pity the fish farms are ruining salmon rivers everywhere!! We all want to see a end to the salmon farming industry..

Nice video with some beautiful scenery. Sad to see what is going on around the world with our fish stocks . leave it up to humans to find a way to destroy everything and wonder what happened. Apparently we are still evolving as a species. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures.

Remember boys, iv benning hunted for 5 years now. i figth for wild salmon rest off my life..
It is so sad to se how the salmon declines in number, i hope it can turn around very soon.
Seatrout on the other hand seems to do better, atleast where i live. 2023 i had only 3 sessions with no fish, (short sessions), and alot of small wild fish on the costline. Most of the seatrout i got was wild, So i hope 2024 is gonna be even better.
Keep fighting for the wild salmon, you make a difference, i always try to get people to watch ' once salmon always salmon'. Those who have seen it dont buy farmed salmon anymore.

What a fantastic looking place. But there is no main ingredient, reading the comments you have more hope than me. You have fished the best places in the world. Now Russia has gone there is very little left. If the Norway Government can sit and watch this happen they all need to be sacked with somebody that can help this fantastic fish. If Norway can't support there rivers and help the salmon its over. God help us.

I saw the stats from Norway. Catches went down 30 percent - only 17 wild salmon from Bolstad after using 100s of million trying to save that salmon. This is the last decade for wild salmon - soon they will be gone. Norvegian politicians wanted salmon farms and sold the soul of Norway. Time to find another hobby than fishing for salmon, that very soon will be gone
Stay positive mate a few years can make a massive difference for the life cycle of a Salmon!! I know it's not easy to stay positive but there is always hope!! 🐟🐟🐟
