    For context, I have to get up at 5 am or earlier so I have enough time to get ready for the bus. The bus comes at 6:20, and I need at least an hour to get ready.
    So anyway, I was on my bed watching shorts after school. I have to get up really early and can almost never fall asleep on the bus, so I ended up taking an accidental nap. (Starting between 3 and 4:30 pm) At some point my parents made plans and didn't tell me, so my mom came in and woke me up (6:00 pm). When she did, she decided to say "good morning" and then leave. I too have a west facing window, and so I could see the sunset. However, I just got woken up at 6 and was immediately told good morning, so I'm thinking I'm late for the bus. Needless to say only my dad is allowed to wake me up in the afternoons anymore.

      It doesn't. She's wrong in this. Ascorbic acid (vitamin-C) may counteract Ritalin substantially, but no so much other types/brands of stimulants, especially not Vyvanse.
      Don't take it from me, though. Always take your medication advice from your doctor and farmacist, they're liable if they're wrong, I'm not.
      Not drinking orange juice with your medication, to be on the safe side, should of course be fine (if the medication is safe for you). Unless you have already titrated your dosage based on a habit of drinking orange juice.

    • @ledihnquan
      @ledihnquan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Honestly mentally it doesn’t really do much, it does make you lose ur appetite tho. So basically even if ur hungry u don’t wanna eat. Also as a stimulant it just keeps you up but normally it isn’t a problem b/c you take it in the day. Tbh only really noticeable thing is just you don’t wanna eat. Well that and you can focus better, but tbh you don’t really feel different on and off cuz you just pay attention better and that’s more of like a passive thing.

    • @ledihnquan
      @ledihnquan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea but if you count hunger as physical I hardly notice anything. It’s more like I notice when I’m not on it cuz I can’t pay attention to like school and you get jittery. So yea the things you only notice when ur not on it only happens in times you normally take it or need it. Like in class if im not on It I can realize I forgot to take it and it’s hard to sit still and pay attention. Emotionally it doesn’t do anything directly but for me it’s more of a byproduct. Like getting a little agitated when I can’t move around in class, or jsut how you are when ur hungry, so basically like I said it’s really nothing direct for me.

    I am currently unemployed. I'm enjoying not working but having 0 schedule and ADHD makes tings interesting. There are days were I have to look at my computer to actually see what day it is.
    One thing that may help with the pill management is getting one of those boxes with slots for pills for each day of the week and then looking at calendar/computer before you take them. This tool helps me consistently take my meds. I refill the box every Sunday.

    Hahahaha I am in the exact same situation currently but I did NOT know that orange juice and certain other foods and beverages can counteract ADHD medication.
    I’m actually not on Vyvanse, (as it and every other ADHD medication on the market did not work for me) but rather amphetamine/dextroamphetamine. Apparently it has the same counteracting effects from those same foods/beverages.
    So once again, THANK YOU as always for these little informative shorts you do. No matter how unique to yourself these or other symptoms may seem to be, it always helps others to know they’re not alone

    That was a good speech, lol! But I have almost done that before. Woke up all afraid that I slept in, thinking that I was going to be late for work.
