One of the coolest things about Unshaken is that it is probably the only channel on TH-cam with over 100k subscribers that doesn't have a single commercial interruption once the video starts. That tells you where Bro Hal's heart is.

I thank God for you and for your lessons. I am a new member, having been baptized in June 2021. Understanding all of the BOM is difficult due to many of the words. You explain them so well making the message understandable for me. My husband and I read the lesson, and then we listen to your TH-cam message! I pass your messages on to all the new people so they can understand it a little easier and faster. Thank you and may God continue to bless you!

So happy for your choice to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I still have difficulty understanding words/principles, it takes a life-time to learn and we can still learn and progress on the other side of the veil. Heavenly Father has given us the tools to do this. Enjoy your study with your husband and with others!

Jared…your relationship you had with your father has always reminded me of the love that Mormon and Moroni shared. This is such a wonderful view of your own father continuing to gather and teach❤️. A father extending his mission from above, and smiling down upon his son…extending his unshaken mission here, now, upon the earth❤️😇. We love you Jared…Keep up the good work brother👍. David

I was a child in Primary and we had learned “l An a child of God” when it first came out. We had learned know. I remember it was changed to do for the Sacrament meeting program. I was 5 or 6. Fast forward many years and Mildred Petite became my neighbor in Los Angeles. She and I became friends. She gave me a copy of the music where the word know was crossed out and do written in. Just a fun memory. Love your Come Follow Me lessons. Thank you for doing them. Thank your wonderful family also.

As I'm listening to verse 13 in chapter 27 it occurs to me that we can/need to be like Jesus in our ministering efforts. We can strive to "do the will of the Father" who sends us to our brothers and sisters to carry out His will.

It’s interesting that they wanted to fight for individualism and not be of one heart and one mind but the minute they stepped into that kind of an attempt to be individual you see that there is the sameness in sin itself. So many people who embrace Babylon are exactly the same in what they strive for just as we who embrace Christ might have a oneness of heart and in fact in our developing of our talents and our consecration, we are more unique than those who are bound down by the cares of the world.

    • @Chris-qp9bi
      @Chris-qp9bi 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Sin is a conformity to those who abuse, a surrendering of one's unique light like a candle, of talents and one's joyful bright light which one could OTHERwise let shine, shine, shine. It can also be like slavery to addictions and to body parts instead of BEING Eternal LOVE FREE Choices where mind and heart, LOVING with one's SOUL and being the masters of romantic and the body. Free choices and giving one's Life: LOYALTY, SACRIFICE, HONOR and ETERNAL love. Not having physical temptations rule! The world and even many modern religions teach we must be at least PARTIAL slaves to our bodies: NOT TRUTH and Jesus taught us how to be FREE, "the TRUTH shall make you FREE." In THIS love we each SHINE in uniqueness as eternal identity-possessing personalities.

12:08 I love this point. It reminds me of David from the channel 52 Churches in 52 Weeks. He often talked about how the members of the Church were so authentically Christlike, and it was one of the pivotal factors that led to his conversion.

I love your thoughts and insights. Like you, I served my mission in Puerto Rico. What great people!
I wanted to add one comment. In today’s message you commented about how you were sad to see the word “prosperity” in a specific verse in 4th Nephi. I think sometimes in the church we teach that prosperity is bad when in fact it’s the prosperity of the members of the church that has provided the means to build so many temples and do so much good. Prosperity in this land is a promise to the righteous. The problem is not so much prosperity as it is forgetting from where our blessings come. It’s the pride that comes when we think our prosperity comes from our greatness rather than from the great mercy and kindness of God.
I like Alma 62:49 where the people were prosperous and blessed but they remembered the source of their blessings and stayed humble.
I love your messages and insights. Thank you!

After listening to your videos this week and last, I noticed something. I don't know if it means anything but it was interesting.
When talking about what they desire most, the people in general say the Holy Ghost. 9 of the disciplines say to be with Jesus, and He says they will come and rest with Him. 3 of the disciplines (1/3 of them) say to stay and preach, and Jesus says they will sit down in the Kingdom of His Father:
    1. Holy Ghost (Telestial)
    2. Christ (Terrestrial)
    3. The Father (Celestial)
This mimics who we interact with in the Kingdoms of Glory. I don't think it means those who desired different things are not going to the Celestial Kingdom, but I see a possible lesson to learn here...

3 Ne 27:13-21 - I think we find the 5 laws in the temple. Not spelled out specifically, but in principle.
    13- law of obedience
    14- law of sacrifice
15-17, 20 law of the gospel of Jesus Christ
    19- law of chastity
    21- law of consecration

Meditating on the pattern of the Book of Mormon and our generation…do you think we will be destroyed as well? Or will wickedness just be terminated and there will be a remnant left to continue Gods work?

    • @lindamartinez7006

      Your last sentence is right.

    • @disciplesofjesuschrist2026

Indeed, the preface to the Second Coming is a shadow of the preface of the Book of Mormon at the events that led up to the visit of the Saviour to the people of the ancient America's.
The destruction will be so great that only a remnant will be saved or as the Book of Mormon states..the 'more righteous'... being approx 2500 people.. Wickedness will be terminated for 1000 years while the Lord reigns.
The same will be in Jerusalem and Israel. Blood will flow to the bridle of horses and a remnant will remain, those who are covenant Jews (most who have gathered their at a later time them the present Jews).
The current Government, military and orthodox Jews of our day not only reject Jesus Christ as Saviour and Redeemer but speak of Him as an illegitimate child of a prostitute.
The remnant will build the Jerusalem Temple and establish the New Covenant (no sacrifices as many assume) the heretical doctrine of the 'White Horse," Ezra's Eagle Red Heifer and Third Temple, that supposedly that will be built by the current Jews who reject Jesus Christ, WILL NOT eventuate..
They will be oppressed by their enemies on everyside because they reject Him who is willing to save them, but they would not.
They believe that American weaponry can save them, the arm of flesh. The evangelical majority in the US government believe Christ will redeem Israel in its current state, which is a fallacy.
Only when they turn to Christ will He intervene on their behalf , but sadly that will not happen until much of Israel will be destroyed and its people, then the remnant who are covenant Jews will return and build the Temple (miraculously) with the help of angelic beings.
There will be some righteous Jews who remain who are not of the covenant, Then Jesus will ascend and those who have not covenant with Him, will look upon the prints in His hand and side and feet and ask " what are these prints by which ye were oppressed?
Then He will declare unto them, Their Redeemer who was bruised in the house of His friends (Israel) then all will fall down and worship Him
      WATCH

So sorry to hear about your dad. Thank you for all the giving you do for God's children. We can say that for this moment your dad gets to be the 9 that is with Jesus, while you are the 3 that continues to "bring in the fish." Thank you for your service to God (vertical) and us (horizontal).
Can I also ask - can we compare the 9 and the 3 to Martha and Mary? It says Mary chose the better for choosing to be with Christ. While the 3 were told they chose the greater by wanting to serve. What is the difference in the stories, do you think?

@lindamartinez7006 Why did Hinckley lie and say they weren't using tithing money for commercial businesses? Why was the church fined by the SEC? Why did the story have to change from translated from Golden Plates to rock in a hat? Joseph Smith was a convicted criminal for using a rock and a hat to say he could see buried treasured. Why does the church no longer practice polygamy because it is Doctrine? Why is the book of Abraham actually an Egyptian funeral scroll? That papyri has nothing at all to do with Abraham and doesn't even date to that time.

who are 'we'? Are you included with the naysayers? The 'clean and the 'honest' are the righteous who know and witness of the truth of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, Those that are finding out otherwise have no truth in them.
