- The baton's handle is a popular handle to combine with other blades, but how effective is the actual weapon itself in its pure and original form? Also let's test how much difference there is between light equip load compared to medium or slightly heavy.

Alright, the "What if Leon Kennedy was a Robotic Puppet that had a Baton, 0 guns, and an electrifying arm with an extra form of family issues" run is here!!!

@@MaidenlessScrubNOOOOO I WAS GONNA MAKE THAT JOKE

@@MaidenlessScrub if only youtube recommended this to me earlier
Am I the only one who got that the Scrapped Watchman is a referance to Robocop? He is a former police officer named Officer Murphy, who got turned into a mechanical policeman and is driven to a rebelious frenzy against his creators while being hauted by memories of his former human life
Someone else pointed that out as well... I honestly just hadn't even made that connection and just took Murphy as a random name. But yeah, that can hardly be a coincidence
With how Ergo canonically works, That is an actually ingenious connection, It lines up so well it's kind of scary.
There’s also that one part where you throw something at the hanging puppet to get the key to “221b”. That’s a reference to Sherlock Holmes as his address is 221b Baker Street
@@bryanwithamasknot to mention that when you do get that address you are in the middle of solving a clue
Nice video, as always ;) As for the whale/shark/submarine, in the original story, the thing that eats Geppetto and Pinocchio is a sea monster called "Pesce-cane", a giant shark. I believe it was Disney that made it into a whale for the first time.
Oh really? That's interesting. I actually always assumed that it was a kind of reference to the biblical story of Jonah
And you were right, it is based on that story! (I believe, at least) :) but even Jonah was swallowed, as far as I remember at least, by a massive fish or a sea monster, and the whale imagery came afterwards.
@@XorsosedutoX Well you got a point there
Funny enough monstro the whale actually resembles a real creature discovered to exist many years after the movie came out.
I also thought it was to reference orphan of kos because of how similar the beach looks
Of course Master of Puppets was the perfect song to pick for this game! Great choice, great challenge!
Where is that version on TH-cam, anyone know?
@@riffhousestudios96 I found it, it's from channel "HarpistKT"
You know, the weapon customization gives me an idea for another challenge run. Beating the game while using the *worst* possible head and handle combination. Like, picking a head that does not go with the handle moveset at all, while having negative modifiers on the damage for not matching
Any large ass handle (booster handle) with a dagger tip with split damage (i'd pick the acid dagger) would probably meet these requirements, though you'd need to un-buff the handle with an incorrect crank for optimal suboptimality.
@@deviltheferal892The reverse can work too, big hammer head on a stabby dagger handle. Not only does it do barely any damage (hammers have way lower "thrust" damage), it's probably going to be slow as hell.
@@okacz19 Unfortunately, for the context of the challenge run, that doesn't work. While it's not optimal by any means, the base damage of a fully upgraded massive hammer head means any handle will still deal a good multiple hundred damage per hit... This challenge idea would include the capability to upgrade weapons, so you need terrible base damage on top of terrible scaling.
You know, see this guy beat Archbishop first try, pre nerf, baton and electric only, and without a specter makes me sad that I took like 25 tries after the nerf with summons
Nah don't worry about it. You can solo those bosses on NG+. It still counts.
I'm sad they nerfed the bosses. I beat them pre-nerf and the success jubilation was peerless, even if it took me about 10 tries each for the later bosses.
@@rclaws3230they didn’t nerf difficulty only health
I feel the same. Archbishop is easy too, but he beat my ass 80 times lol
literally same archbishop was the first road block for me so seeing him beat it first try just makes me think im bad..... though i did beat Malenia in Elden Ring on my 11th try so maybe im not as bad as i think?
Lies Of P is probably one of the best Souls like games
It's definitely one of the soulslikes of all time.
Press continue proving himself as the P king
Just beat the game and it's by far one of the best Souls likes out there. Might be number 1. Glad to see you're making vids about it.
Damn man it might not be Bloodborne but it's a game on its own it looks great and probably going to give it a try one day also huge fan of your videos your voice jokes and runs are gold
But just play souls games. Don't give money to people who are ripping off FromSoft. The game is mid honestly. Its basically Dark Souls 2 with a different story
@@graxo3752 This game isn't "just a rip-off". If it was, they wouldnt have put so much effort into it
@@graxo3752bro did not play the game
@graxo3752 this game is great and is very unique.
I'd call you mid, but that would be rude to everything that's actually mid
@graxo3752 someone clearly never played the game, shit absolutely slaps, the only soulslike that's good enough that I genuinely thought I was playing a from soft game
I for one look forward to the Wizard of Oz DLC/Sequel!
So interesting to say how other people play this game. You avoided most of the attacks by dodging or running away while I tried to play it like Sekiro. It's a very cool game and allows lots of freedom when it comes in ways to play and build your character.
And please you more challenges of this game pls.
The pun game is on point, if a bit on the nose.
Ahhhhhh i see what you did there
This makes me realize how stupid I was for going with a +3 weapon until after Victor 😂
That's... a bit low for that point in the game, yes.
I didn't know that upgrade materials would become so common, so I was running around with barely upgraded weapons just struggling.
@@ryandavid1277 They're not common at all actually until late game. I'm pretty sure you can only get a single weapon to +5 before the Arch Bishop and a single one to +6 before the Puppet King, only a single one to +8 before Victor and only a single one to +9 before the green monster.
But that applies to any souls game. Best thing to do is to mainly stick to a single weapon and focus on upgrading that one as far as you can.
@@PressContinue I think you need to make the rounds and kill a few more enemies. When I realized how common they were I even started upgrading weapons that my 6 year old liked.
@PressContinue but I love my shock hammer and fire knife equally, together they kill everything, I could never put one above the other!
I'm always glad to see you stick with it
Way Cool! I was so Hoping u would play this at some point. Seriously when learned of this game you were the first person I thought of. To me u r one of the the best Souls Like Players and its ur voice and ur great sense of humor that make me a fan. Best to you Press and looking forward to see u play more of this with heinous challenges to conquer
What's up Press? I watched a few hours of your stream of this I'm very excited to see the full video!
Amazing music choice at the beginning! Masterful
Will be interesting to see what challanges, or just fun theme, runs you can make.
Oh yeah, the challenge runs begun
Which means this game is worthy of being a Souls-Like
Woo! I'm very excited for this video. I'm going onto the third play through tonight.
Fuoco in NG+ is a giant asshole.
Thank you for all the hard work!
hope we get more LoP runs! Love this game and your vids
great video as always!!
You never disappoint until you do :)
The script in your videos are always something to look forward to
This is my first video and my god this guys commentary skills are amazing! Has me laughing every other sentence.
Backstabs depend on which direction their back is physically facing. It usually makes things harder, but it does let you get fast backstabs on animations that twist the back towards you.
Great choice of intro music!
Thank you for the video. This look like a very fun game, even if that linear.
The Aldia quote was a very nice touch
Just as i predicted: I alone am the only Black Rabbit Brotherhood enjoyer.
Probably
I enjoyed it a lot, really well made fight. People are too ptsd for gank fights
Not alone. I think its one of the few well designed gank fights in any of these games altho it can be frustrating at times
I aswell, enjoyed them quite a lot
I enjoy them from a design standpoint, one of the best designed ganks out there- but they still suffer from RNG, especially the second time… still though, I enjoyed them, Puppet Malenia was the best though :)
didn't see the video yet but i'm certain that will be a good one :) you never fail to entertain press!!!
yanno I found this channel roughly two or two and a half years ago, and dismissed it at first just from the name. thought it would be some game clickbaiter.
saw it pop back up with a wicked dumb challenge run and found the comedy pretty solid so subbed there
PC's easily one of my favorite challenge runners nowadays, hope the channel keeps growing my guy
Fantastic video!
aight this game looks awesome, I've hardly seen anything from it up till now, though I have heard some praise
I'll definitely try to check it out at some point
After beating Lies of P twice, I finally was able to watch this (to avoid spoilers) and I barely made it through even while using all tools available!
I'm at Simon on my first playthrough. It hasn't been a walk in the park for me honestly despite having played all the FromSoft games. Seeing you wreck these bosses with a police baton is amazing to me lmao
13:35 you can find Survivor in a room under two falling puppets, you need to turn left after you open a shortcut near Puppet of the Future
You can also fight the Atoned even if you lied to her, just return to her place after beating Archbishop
😂”brave tarnish..” that got me so good lol
Glad you're enjoying Lies of p, maybe you'll try the new lords of the fallen? Also keep it up with the awesome content ❤
I am going to play the new Lords of the Fallen
I've been here since 2k subs. Super happy to see you succeed for how much you suffer making every video.
Thank you for sticking around all those years :)

Baton's handle is probably the best handle in the game. Doesn't really matter what you use with it, it wrecks. Combining with the Pire Wrench head's fable art makes for crazy damage (most damage you can dish out in a single attack in the game by far). Combining with the Bonesaw is also pretty good. Fable art isn't quite as good as the Pipe Wrench, but it has loads more range and a bit more power. Those are probably the best heads to use with it, but... just about any head wrecks.
Well... not ANY. I don't think the rapier for example would work well with that handle.
I used with the thor Hammer Blade and the bonks went brrrr.
Come what may I appreciate the master of pupputs solo in the intro lol
Your ability to perfect dodge is unreal. I mostly blocked with my face the entire game...not for lack of trying.
You mean dodge or block?
@@PressContinue perfect block sorry. Typing while watching requires more brain cells than I possess.
Noice thanks for the Lies of Peak video, I've seen some lord of the fallen gameplay and honestly our boi Pinnochio sweeps imo.
Lords of the Fallen looks very to me as well. And that game will probably have a lot of variety for challenge runs.
Hi Press, clicked on like, unfortunatly will watch it when I'll finish the game. Thanks for new vid anyway.
Being a fan of Pinocchio I'd say this is an interesting take on the fable, i might have to buy this one
Honestly, these guys knocked it out the park with this game. What a gem, It's the bloodborne 2 we never got and i am absolutely loving it ❤💥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Mane violated that puppet!
Mane?
@@PressContinue slang for man I'm from Tennessee. 😂
Reeling from the name you gave the namelss puppet, grats nonetheless.
Ah yes, Pinocchio: puppets lie twice, my fave soulsborne
Awesome vid and i will finish watching it soon since im almost finished with my first playthrough of the game so i cant wait to see the final boss and see you fight him as well! I was wondering if you were planning on ever making an elden ring rl1 guide or if it wasnt in any of your current ideas?
The DBZA, "Moustache" caught me off guard 😂
You could say you were embraced by the "long arm of the law"😂 7:07
Was that a Guitar Pro version of Master of Puppets?? Takes me back!
Came here for the challenge run, stayed for that rendition of metallica
As soon as i saw this game i was exited especially because people were comparing it to bloodborne and i was not disappointed
ok 1 good choice of music 2nd i am shock someone doing this with a poking stick and three pls more challange runs in this
I am commenting to say I would love to watch this and more, but I must finish the game first! Please don’t forgot about this !
the hit detection on backstabs has been solid in my experience. I think the issue is the range of the batton.
master of puppets and Romeo were my fav fights in the entire game master puppets was also the boss i saw which made me want to play it like Jesus Christ the game was so good and it peaked so early and never dropped
Dammit now i have to listen to all of Master of puppets. Thank you, and also how dare you?
Who knew a pinnochio souls like would be so good
This would have to be a NG+/+++ playthrough by nature of what the weapon is, but the Frozen Feast is one of those weapons you either love or hate. Definitely a high skill weapon by virtue of its crushing punishment for failing to properly time yourself.
It being the boss weapon of the Museum's enemy, I can't expect you to have it long on a normal playthrough, though something cheeky you could do is do a "loop" where you go into NG+ starting from when you get the weapon to try and kill the boss you got it from. Which is to say, from when you get it in ng you use it and then in ng+ keep going until you beat the boss it's for.
Regardless of what you end up doing, this has been a fantastic game and video and I look forward to whatever else uou got.
Weapon is op what are you talking about
@@simonecorinti6034 this was back when the game was new and i didn't have much time to every weapon. I still don't, really, i have had the game as a one-and-done for a while and haven't picked it up again by virtue of there being other games. If the community or you see it as OP, then that's not the impression I or many others had back then. Maybe after patches, but not before.
When it comes to Soulslikes, you can always count on your resident Netherland Dr Seuss to pull through, despite having the short end of the stick 99% percent of the time :D
Lies of Pupa
Nice, old school metallica intro
Pretty sure it's already well known by now but the highest damaging weapon in the game is the live puppets axe head and the chefs handle. Buff with elemental damage spam the 3 swing ability 5 times and then get a riposte on whatever boss you just half healthed. I used that method to quickly beat the final boss pretty easily on my first playthrough.
@15:15 , Sephiroth! 😅
Yeah, i wouldnt know, instead of motivity or advance i used technique, but i will get to my motivity and advanced play through soon
Hey so this video was playing I woke up and had the game spoiled for me.
What a P organ.
Haha 😂
Officer Murphy?
That's definitely a robocop reference
This run was bonkers.
New press continue vid let’sa gooooooo🎉🎉🎉🎉
The aesthetic of this game is just 🤌
NG+ can be a chef run, you only use the little chef cleaver, flamberge, and fire consumables
Hmm interesting
Pinocchio: D’YOU HAVE A LOICSENCE FOR THAT GODHOOD?! NO?!?! *BONK!*
I can't wait til I can sink my teeth into Pinocchio: Humans Lie Twice.
I didn't find really much use for legion arm, eventually equipping the starter arm so I could pack on more armour with reduced weight.
Yeah I agree that they are under utilized.
the only 2 legion arms I've ever used are the puppet string for isolating enemies from bigger encounters and the falcon eyes to finish off enemies or build stagger
Hoping for a ng+ consumable+legion arms only playthrough on account of regenerating legion charge over time at i believe organ lvl 5.
Ergo is stored in the P Organ
This is what I used most of the game and only switch it out for a couple of boss fights
*firmly grasps the P-organ*
I watched this before playing the game myself and misremembered it as "baton HANDLE only"
Lol, well that would have been an even littler stick...
You can't just suddenly drop master of puppets on me like that, I wasn't prepared for the sudden rush of....p-organ
Lol
I started my ng+ with this weapon ,is very good
Master Master!
I think Lies of P is actually a sick name
that "little stick" is literally the best weapon in the game
Fun fact: Robo Cop's real name is Alex Murphy. That's an interesting easter egg.
I beat more than half the game using this as all other strength weapons felt too slow until I found out about wrench head with baton handle 😂
The baton is goated
So it is true, it’s not about how big your stick is but how you use it that matters
The original story had a shark. The whale was a disney change.
This isn't the pinnochino i remember.
Jokes aside great stuff as always 👍
Well done mate. How do you feel about ng+ tuning? I feel ng+ is really tight alresdy, but when i started ng+2 today it kinda turned me off. Dmg done is so low and dmg received is so freaking high. Maybe im just bad
NG+ tuning is kind of harsh for sure, but you get so much ergo from enemies in NG+ and beyond that leveling up to counteract it is pretty easy, especially if you're willing to farm for a bit. I'm in NG+4 right now and it kind of evened out with the amount of ergo I was receiving from every enemy. Definitely still tougher than NG in terms of the damage you deal/receive, but certainly manageable :)
I have only played a little bit into NG+ so I can't really answer that
I used the baton handle all the way up until alchemist island
What is the “I like his moustache” from at 5:58??? It’s driving me crazy that I can’t figure it out
DBZ abridged
@@PressContinue I love you so much. You’ve itched a scratch that was killing me!
Very good video. How hard does a no leveling run seem compared to the souls games on level 1? (Both with and without p organ leveling)
I imagine more creative as there are no stat requirements for any weapons.
Also laxasia is supposed to be one of the most learnable fights as she has one of the longer sequences of attacks that she will continue, long after you have dodged it and other enemies would shift gears. Ironic the fastest puppet is to slowest change it's approach.
