Its really good to see someone travelling at a sensible pace and taking time to enjoy this spectacular route. And all to the soundtrack of that lovely happy burble from Roger!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Love the drone clips Charlie 😍🦌 Canna beat a highland Coo and a midgie or two😂👍
A heeland coo is compulsory Scotland photography. 😊
Great video Charlie. John O groats might be a bit touristy but it beats lands end any day. Just an overpriced carpark and a shopping mall from what I could see at a safe distance before they could robb me of my meager bank balance 😅.
I've heard that about Lands end!
Great video Charlie,I done this in may anti clockwise from fort William ( circular) from s .wales 2100 miles covered in 9 days, absolutely stunning vistas there ,to much to mention in a comment, but would recommend to anyone, ps , no midges in may, but first couple of days felt like winter, brightened up to the west. Great trip .👍🏴
Thank you. 😊
Great scenery Charlie, brilliant filming, well done! Very enjoyable to watch….Alb…. Cam x
Thanks Cam. 😊
👍Nice video,the music was great ! Thank you👍
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Greetings from down under. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. Love your work.
You are so welcome 😁
Charlie, what a lovely episode (again!). We're so honoured that you and Geff stopped by ours on your way to Aberdeen. We feel famous now 😅 You won't be sad to have left the midges behind 😊
You'll both feature in the next episode properly. 😊
Great to watch the videos a few weeks later as a reminder of a fantastic trip.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thanks Charlie for a great series in Scotland. Brought back some happy memories from the 1980s when I used to ride these roads first week in September each year. From Wigan to Ullapool for my first night stop. Still ride a little keeps me young. Ride safe X.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Another great episode featuring Charlie and the poisonous snake gloves........, thanks for posting ride safe.
Hahahhaa! 😊
Another beaut show Charlie,, ride safe 🇦🇺😇
Thanks 👍
Oh Charlie's our Rest Day Rider,
Whose travels are farther and wider,
There's never a doubt,
While out and about,
She's keen on a bottle of cider!
😊❤
Very Good John! 😊
🤗
Black pudding with an egg pure dead brilliant . I miss the food have been back thirty years.
Very enjoyable video Charlie used to in the early seventies when the roads were empty nice to see it all again
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Great video as normal, Charlie. It's great to see different places around the UK when you go on a jolly and touring on your Royal Enfield Himalayan.
I saw you at the REME Museum, Lyneham, this morning ( 23rd September) around 10.30 am. I wanted to pop over and say "Hi, etc, etc, but you left, 😢. ( I can take the hint, hahaha😅).
Hopefully we can meet up soon on a RE owners club group meeting. (Trowbridge Branch). Or a joint ride out.
Oh Sorry Martin! Wanted to make the most of the Sunny day on the Bobber with a ride . 😊
Lovely video nice music fantastic drone shots and pleasant commentary 😊
Many thanks! 😊
Another awesome video Charlie😁You have really mastered the drone now, the footage was just spectacular👌Good old John O Groats, just a whole lot of nothingness😂I went there in my 20's just to say I had been, never been since😉 If you wants seals and red squirrels visit Arran, I've only seen 1 red squirrel though but lots of seals👍
Thanks, looks like I'll have to go back and do some island hopping! 😊
Love it! That last camp site looked fantastic! Great find!
A another enjoyable vlog Charlie ❤❤
Like the music on drone along the river day seven.
Thank you 😊
Thanks Charlie for showing me places I have never seen . Good aerial views
Thank you 😊
Love it up nextyear
Thank you so much for making such entertaining episodes, they are truly a delight to watch ;-).
Thank you! Am off to Wales tomorrow for another mini adventure. 😊
Amazing, Love Wales, some amazing slow roads lol 20mph lol. Please do upload any new adventures, Safe journey @@restdayrider
I love places like Brims Castle. However, you have to visit such places at night with a flashlight ;-)
Brilliant vid as ever. That sure was an idyllic campsite 😍. I’m delighted you got to see the seal, I know you love animals and wildlife. Thanks Charlie 👍
I definitely do. 😊
awesome.....
I have to say the fish and chips looked pretty good in the picture, Charlie. Loved the drone footage over the river!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Spectacular scenery in Scotland. We have seals in our harbor, Bay of Fundy, all the time. Once had a river otter chew through my boat stern drive boot and sank the boat, not my favorite animal. Great video, you keep rising the bar with each one! Thank you for all your hard work!
Thank you. 😊
Brilliant as ever😊🏍️
Hi Charlie another great vlog really enjoy the blend of good editing and choice of music as always keep safe and the rubber side down
Thanks 👍
Nice ride.
Thank you again for introducing me to the lone rider tent ⛺️
We rode to Mt. Carmel Utah Hwy 14 & 89 to Mt. Carmel for an event.
We love this tent ⛺️
Stay safe and healthy 🎉😊
Fabulous. 😊
what can I say, another Awesome ride with you, keep them vids coming
Thanks, will do! 😊
Nice video as usual 👍. Glad to see you found the correct side of the road 🤣
You and me both! 🫣
I lived in Aberdeenshire many moons ago. Can't remember midges at all ! Nasty little buggers though ... we sometimes get them in Norway. Mosquitos are a big problem in the North ... the size of sparrows ;) I stopped at Alta once to take a photo under the city sign. Took my helmet off and got mugged straight away. No photo, rode on ! Anyway, luvvin the vids ;) Thanks ! A PS. Enjoy your Ciders.
Hi! Thank you! And if they're the size of sparrows I'll give that a hard pass! 😂
Love it when a plan comes together... 🤗.. Did you leave your sticker...! all that way an forget ... .
Geff is a Campion and to stop for him at the Distillery.. yes..! when Whiskey. Calls for a Dram..
Roof or two, a coat of paint, the old place would be Habitable.. go as when built.. Can I sell you a caravan for Roger..
Odd to say from up North... was all down hill from there.. Ok... I'm leaving the room.. Miss
I did leave a sticker in Scotland somewhere. 😊
🤗 ..🤔... 🤣..@@restdayrider
HI CHARLIE. YOUR VIDS ARE GREAT TO WHATCH. ON HOLIDAY IN THAILAND. YOU REMIND ME HOW BEAUTIFUL THE UK IS. THE SCOTTISH SCENERY IS AMAZING. SO MUCH TO SEE. RIDE SAFE. ADRIAN
Thank you 😊
Nice camp site, but you’ve got to pass 10 trees to get to the toilet…..just saying’….don’t hug them! I was going to do my otter joke but it’ll probably upset too many people and put ‘em into therapy. Nice vid Charlie and a lovely series. 👍
Hahahaha, yeah no tree hugging was done! 😊
charlie what great vids and footage really enjoyed all thank you
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thank you for another great video charlie . As always really interesting viewing, love em .
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thanks again for a really good vlog. The midges spoilt it for you a bit, I think. The sceney looks stunning. Never mind ,the drinks and cheese would have made things a bit more livable, I think. Thanks again . Oh, and the music is brill.
The midges were a pain, but not so much for me as for poor Geff!
Another great video, thanks for sharing Charlie. I know music is personal taste, I hope this comes across as constructive, but you've changed the music for the better on this video, more dramatic when needed and calmer when needed.
Thanks for the feedback 😊
Did most of N500 in 80s on my Z1300. Enjoy your videos Charlie. I agree John O Groats really nothing special. I must disagree though, a good quality brown sauce on Fish n Chips .🙂🏍
I find brown a little spicy. 😂🫣
Nice! Just ordered T-shirt from that distillery as they look super cool.
They did look epic ! 😊
Something iv been thinking of doing now iv see your video I’m going for it.
Excellent! 😊
I am loving these vlogs. Making me want to do the NC500 again but clockwise like you next time
You should! 😊
Found your channel a few days ago and really enjoying it. I walked John O'Groats to land's End in 2006, so some of the run down to Wick (and the campsite!) brought back a few memories. Just got into riding recently, did my CBT a couple of months ago and having fun on a Vespa GTS while I learn but definitely considering a Himalayan for the future, looks like a great bike for exploring.
It really is! 😊
Good Evening Charlie , Thanks for sharing another epic video of your NC 500 tour , your drone footage was again brilliant , both of you take care & ride safe , PS can't wait to show my Mrs this tomorrow
Hope she enjoys it too. 😊
Cheese and cider can be a recipe for windy conditions all right. 😂
Malin to Mizzen is a trip that might interest you. It's 350miles can be done in a day, or if you're not in a rush you could take the 1500mile route via the Wild Atlantic Way. Very little interference from midges either.
I'm enjoying your travelogue. 😊👍🏼
Thank you, glad you are enjoying the series. 😊
Part 4..., second attempt!! It was when I realised you were driving on the wrong side of the road.!!
YES, I saw that car, he obviously thought he was on your French video from just before!!
I absolutely love the sound of that engine when it's under load, it's certainly a bike that I might consider when I change mine next, altho, it might be a little too small for me. If you are constantly on the road doing tent camping, how do you keep all your Batteries charged? As always, this has been another very enjoyable video Thx 4 sharing.
So I use a USB charger on the road and charge batteries in my tank bag in lots of 3 at a time, then I try and book an electric pitch every other night to fully charge everything and I carry a camping hook up cable for that. 😊
I loved the video as I am watching it while doing the NC500 and are actually on that very campsite in Wick watching you both driving in 😂
Sadly I am not on my bike
That's Brilliant! 😂
Thanks for another great video. Really makes me want to get up there some day. I can’t help thinking (not being very technical), that the editing may have taken almost as long as the trip. You must have had so much stunning footage!
Ha! Well it does take 10-12 hours to complete a 30 minute episode! 😊
😱😱😱
Great post yet again, were with you both all the way from the armchair and enjoyed every minute, drone footage was awesome.......
Bet the armchair was comfy tho! 😊
Should have gone to Dunnet head lighthouse, the actual most northerly point in the Scottish mainland. John o groats is, as you said, just a tourist trap. Also should have pencilled in at least a day to pop over to Orkney, for some great proper historical sites. Maybe next time. 🙂
I'll definitely be back to do some island hopping. 😊
Not only a great rider but also a great drone pilot too! Thanks for making the weekend even better! As always ride safe 😊
Thank you! 😊
Just got back from Fort William. Terrible weather, but the big bonus was...no midges! lol
Definitely a bonus!
Great video. Going to be doing this next year, I'm loving the fact you have a inflatable bed, I was worried I'd be crippled sleeping on the ground so it's on my shopping list now lol
Oh definitely inflatable! 😊
Stunning video, made me giggle. Did you stop in Contin on night three I think? Although I now live in Doncaster I grew up in Alness near Inverness so watching your videos is all home territory for me. I haven’t done the NC 500 per se but know all the roads well. Thank you for the videos they brought lots of memories back.
We did stop there. 😊 glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Fantastic video Charlie
Seems like the best bike for that run.
I think so too! 😊
stunning views
Hi Charlie, great vid , the east side I personally feel isn’t as good as the west side, stunning all the same , full of rugged scenery, absolutely love Scotland personally as it’s my home land, a little different to where I live now, the Cotswolds, soft rolling hills , thank you for sharing your trip with us, if there was a place on the 500 that took your breathe away where would it be ? Cheers Mitch 👍👍
Hi, I think the best section was the Applecross pass and the road heading for the west coast. 😊
Olly Harrison took his new Claas combine harvester from JoG to Lands End in July….. Even slower than Roger!
😂
Castle just needs a lick of paint - when it rains the migies go to ground small mercies - ride safe
3;16 I know John he and I are both part of the Yes Bikers!
Hello Robbie! 🏍️🏴
Nice
Was that a blood pudding breakfast. I always get a bit of a history lesson from your videos as I have to go off and search. Brims Castle occupied for quite a long time. Dunrobin Castle give prespective as New Zealand was "Discovered" in 1642
That was haggis rather than black pudding. 😊
My dads family came from Norway in the 1100’s to I think Freswick, Caithness. I had an auntie Lotte who told us that John O Groats was named after a Dutch merchant (herring I think) he was called Jac de Groot hence John O Groats.
You should visit! 😊
@@restdayrider love to go back to my northern family but my Linda has breast cancer with secondaries so I’m happy being a home bird and dreaming of long ago days, memories are nice.
Great video as ever 😊 you had better weather than when I left Wick a couple of years ago. Torrential rain and high winds the coast road was scary. What drone do you have? The quality is brilliant, thanks for putting so much effort into your films
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Hahaha
Charlie they are our self defence system lol😂😂😂😂
🤣
What Scotland needs to do is to plant native trees on the bare hills xpat living in Australia
Am I going completly potty or did you upload this video then take it back down then re upload? I went to watch it and it said video unavailable. Logged back in tonight and here its is hahaha I havent even started on the Magnas yet. Anyways brill video got to the Wik bit and gonna watch the rest later.
I accidentally uploaded the wrong video earlier, so had to do a quick delete and re load. 🫣😂
@@restdayrider haha Knew I was not going bonkers lol It was a head scratcher though trying to figure out what happend.
Right vlog this time😂
Phew! 🫣
Always look forward to your vlogs
Red sauce on fish n chips is proper job. 😅
Used to do the NC 500 before it was called that.Great to see all those places again. What type of drone do you use? Thinking of getting one. Roger sounds like a purring cat did you change your exhaust? 😊
The exhaust was upgraded when I bought him, he has an Enfield precision end can and a new down pipe.
The drone is a DJI mini 3 pro.
😊
Massive gusts of wind? Was that after the cider?😂
You missed out Dunnet Head the most northerly point in UK.
Just needs a lick of paint!
At last cheese, and a Seal. Bonus
😁🦭
Is that a Scottish delicacy?
@@user-rf9me7xm1w 🤣
That wasnay a seal that was Nessie's brother Inver, Inver nessie
Oh very good. 😂
Do you still use your Atlas throttle controller? If you do, how is it after all your long rides? If you don't, why did you take it off? I'm thinking of getting one but they are a bit expensive here is Australia.
I have still got it, it was on the Meteor which has been upgraded to a Honda, I just have yet to fit it to the Himmy. It is a good bit of kit. 😊
Ketchup on fish & chips is a no no....Please debate...lol
Ketchup! 😊
Charlie, what happened to your meteor 350?
There will be an explanation vlog soon, but the long and short is that she has moved on to a friend. 😊
on your ride back home let me know if your stopping by st andrews area and i'll buy you lunch
Sorry, we were back down by then! 😊
Very nice video, but the music is too loud for me.
Editing is not easy, and I cannot get it perfect every time for every viewer. 😐
@@restdayrider I appreciate that. it's not just you, almost every non music video that plays music plays it louder than their own voice, soit can't be easy.
What’s a US Navy diver doing in Scotland?????
What did I miss?
