  • In 1954, International Harvester introduced the Farmall 200 as the Super C's replacement. in the early 1950's IH was still riding high on the successes og their Letter Series tractors, and thinking the agricultural market was saturated, spent most of their research dollars on trying to play catch-up with Caterpillar and other items like trucks, refrigerators and freezers. This would come back to haunt them before the close of the decade.

    I enjoyed the video. I own a super c and a 230. I had all the belly mounted implements planter, rake, cultivators side dressing options. And then scrap metal went up. The crackheads loaded up everything that was at my tractor shed and hauled it off. I really wish I could find everything I had on it. I had a belly mounted blade for scraping my road. I was proud of everything.

    Thanks again for your sharing these fantastic brochures. Also, by having them evolve top to bottom and moving slowly one can actually read a lot of the text.

    Great video Tom and I love those old Farmall brochures. I remember getting some new ones at the IH dealer years ago that weren't as good as yours. Maybe I dreamed it but didn't y'all have one of these 200 series or possibly a Super C with the wide front axle. Seems like I remember you showing a picture of one. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!

      Yes, I did have a super c with a factory wide front end, yes. Merry Christmas Mark. Thank You

      @@LedgemereHeritageFarm How did you like it compared to the narrow fronts?

    • @LedgemereHeritageFarm
      @LedgemereHeritageFarm  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MarkWYoung-ky4uc it takes a lot of real estate to turn it. The narrows will 180 in the length of the tractor. I never use them on hills except straight up or straight down and they’re fine. I can also park 2 narrow fronts head to toe in the shed. I have a wide front still sitting out on the stone wall with a bolster and another narrow front if I wanted them

      The wide fronts will bring a few more dollars when selling a tractor and easily fetch $500 alone

    Good video Mr. Tom. Love the brochures from the past. In the video, you put that there were only 3624 240s made from 58 to 62. Is that including both IH and farmall?

      @LedgemereHeritageFarm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think so, yes

      I have a 58 model IH 240 utility. If that's the case, then both models are pretty rare I would think. I hope you have a merry Christmas Mr. Tom. Take care buddy👍
