    Thank you. Very informative, thorough, and precise. I fell in love with cold pressed paper a few minutes into it.

    This is very helpful! Thank you. I have been using anupam cold press sheets but not the cotton ones. And guess they are student grade. Definitely definitely moving to artist grade paper post this video. I found Pune handmade papers making 100 percent cotton papers. And planning on trying those. Thank you again.

    Very informative video. thank you Sophia. I'm saving up to splurge on good quality cotton water colour paper. I'll be doing some serious hoarding soon. Right now I'm practicing on printer paper (don't cringe :) )

      @@theabcworkshop I like that addiction. I had started hoarding water colour paints in 2019 and in 2020 I'm actually using them and playing with them. Painting is not as easy as I assumed it to be. I admire folks like you who decided to make this your profession. It is a fun profession. thanks for sharing your knowledge through these videos. :) I'll post some water colour paper to you in 2021 so that you can show me the correct way to paint on it through a video. (The prices on paint supplies have increased due to covid lock down, I'm waiting for the prices to go down. )

    Very impressive and important vedio. Please make more vedios on the different effects of different brand's of acrylic, water and oil colours specifically on landscape painting.

    good delivery of the subject. Class. Can we use poster color with water for good contrast work

    • @theabcworkshop
      @theabcworkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Theoretically you can use poster colours instead of watercolour, but since the pigment size of poster colours are large, you will not be able to get the transparency that watercolour gives. But yes, you can definitely use poster colours on watercolour paper for opaque washes. Hope I was able to answer your query.

    hey, quick question, is brustro 200 GSM 25 percent cotton watercolor paper (A5) okay for a beginner in watercolor ? for some context, I usually paint skies and sunsets and mountains. edit: even if the 300 GSM paper is a tiny bit costly, will it be better for my style of painting? I am very confused and your opinion will matter a lot to me 😬😬🥺🥺🥺🥺

    • @theabcworkshop

    Any alternatives to Arches?

    • @theabcworkshop
      @theabcworkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Arches cold press 300 GMs is my personal favourite. I am yet to come across a more forgiving watercolour paper. 😊 Amongst the cheaper options, I have also also worked with Brustro and liked it. Handmade papers and Chitrapat needs some practice to get used to but can work really well once an artist figures out it’s nuances. Hope this helps.
