    I'm not surprised at all by those Blazers. My old Marlin Glenfield model 25 bolt action 22 shoots lights out with them. They are always my go to round for all my 22s. They are accurate, cycle great, and seem to be very reliable

    Way to keep it "real world" Adam! You never see a Bergara B14 .22lr rifle being profiled in the light of a hunter/field shooter! They're usually profiled by the NRL/PRS crowd and equipped with high end NASA/DARPA approved spec. ops. gear so that someone might actually hit something out there.... on purpose! ;) Stay Frosty Adam! :)

    I've got a Savage markll with the bull barrel and accu trigger and an old Cooey model 75 single shot. The Savage has a Bushnell 3-9x40 scope on it and is extremely accurate with cheap ammo. I don't know what it would do with expensive stuff because I'm too cheap to buy it 🤣. But it shoots plenty good enough for grouse and that's what I use it for. That old Cooey is just about as accurate with open sights as the Savage is with a scope if I do my part and it doesn't have anywhere close as good a trigger as the Savage.

    Growing up we had a small general store. They had more stuff then I ever knew about. No matter what you asked for they would be yup we got that and they would slide the ladder clime up and pull out a drawer and get what you needed. I reminded me of the store on the tv show the Waltons. They did hunting and fishing licenses and back then store closed at 5pm and no one was open on Sundays but I remember my brother was really sick and our mom called them, they lived behind the store and they said come down and knock on the back door and we will have what you need and we can settle up leter. So growing up we all went there and purchased fishing and hunting stuff they didn't have a big variety of ammo. They had the CCI 22 LR I think they were boxes of 100 long plastic rectangular box with a sliding lid. They worked well and they were relatively inexpensive. None of us had expensive 22LR I think 2 or 3 of us had the Marlin with a 18 shot tube magazine. I think the others had similar rifles price wise but had a bottom feed magazine that I think was 5 or 6 rounds. But where sold at Kmart for under $100. The Marlin offten came with a free tasco scope. I never mounted the scope on mine. We had lots of fun at the local range for not that much money. I tried years later to put the scope on a pellet gun but at some point it must have gotten hit, dropped, or something because one of the cross hairs was floating around inside of it. Back then no one ever said anything about age, we were all probably 10 to 13 year old and rode our bicycles to the store purchased ammo then went to the rod and gun club and shot target and it wasn't a big thing. Over the years I stuck with the CCI 22LR because it always seemed to work well. I did get some Remington or Winchester 22LR and with all of us having semi automatic rifles I noticed that some non copper rounds would leave stuff in the grooves in the barrel. So we ran a brush down after a few shots. I asked at a few local shops and they seemed like they never heard of that happening. It looks like the more modern 22LR and other lead rounds may have a wax coating or something on them maybe that was the answer to leading up the barrels? Later we bought some 44 magnum reloaded at the local shop and he poured his own bullets. We had lots of issues with them leaving stuff behind in the barrel and feeling the need to run a brush down about every 6 shots. Later I asked what he put into the rounds and he said lead and zinc. He said zinc was added to be a lubricant for the lead. I know we never purchased them again. Not sure if anyone can shed some light on that or not? I generally look for copper jacket or copper washed because they seem to not mess with the bore. Aslo that shop use to push wad cutters. I had never heard of them before going into his shop. I kinda googled them and information is kinda limited. I assumed that they would be worthless. Yet the little I found on them said they were effective stopping rounds? If anyone can give me some input on the stuff above I would really appreciate it. I love going shooting however all the local places seem to have banned all semiautomatics becsuse they are Sportsman's clubs. I just want a safe place to sight in my guns and practice with them. I am searching to find places local to me that allow semiautomatic. Some people say if you don't rip off rounds real fast who will know? I said we an AR & AK don't look anything like a hunting rifle. Even from a distance. The one we shot at growing up had that rule to however it was not inforced. Keep the cool video coming.

      @scottcooksey5284 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing wrong with wad cutters or semi-wad cutters they're good boolots,, especially in 45 ACP. Several different recipes for pouring your own lead bullets,, zinc has been added to a lot of things throughout the years, sunscreen, motor oil,, multivitamins... . Ammunition companies started putting coatings on their lead bullets years and years and years ago, nothing new just helps to reduce the lead fouling.

    Good stuff, just one tip when shooting 22lr testing groups season the barrel with at least 10 rounds of that ammo type before shooting for groups. The barrel needs to get seasoned to the bullets lube type. Factory cheap hunting/ target ammo barely has any lube they are almost dry while your high end ammo (Eley and lapua) are heavily lubed. Lapua is oily and Eley is a beeswax talo lube as you already know from handling them. I have this same rifle I shoot it in ARA benchrest competition if you do you part and you find the ammo the rifle likes and the barrel is seasoned for it I get .2 and .3 inch groups at 50 yards easily. Good stuff though bud keep it up!

    Out of my slightly pimped-out 10-22, CCI usually does alright, not stellar, but far better than Remington or Winchester which as far as I'm concerned should be left at the back of the safe for when the world has run out of actual ammo. But THE best results I've gotten so far is with SK Standard + (the black and yellow box) with sub-MOA being pretty much the norm. Aguilla also did very well and so did Norma. Eley Contact also performed well, and when I say performs well, what I mean is 1 MOA @ 50y, with holes touching. Anything that is larger than that at 50 if you are using a decent scope and have your rifle tuned to your stock etc, is too big for me. If I can get these results with a stock 10-22 barrel and a Ruger drop-in BX-trigger, there's no reason to accept the sort of results I have seen from the likes of Remington. There's at least half-a-dozen different ammo that will consistently give you a 1 MOA @ 50 and these are not hard to find or hugely expensive like Lapua.

    Blazers are 1250= supersonic. Standard V 1070 & a subsonic round. With the supersonic blazer its accurate if it stays supersonic to the target. I'll take a box of 100 standard V and weigh each one and put the ones that closely match in a separate box for match ammo. I'll check out how far the blazers stay supersonic. Great video as I saved a lot of ammo watching you demonstrate accuracy.

    Hard to beat cci/blazer. Some of the best rimfire made.

    I love these grouping videos Adam. By chance do you have, or have access to a Ruger 10/22? Preferably an older model although most viewers would prefer the more recent models. Thank you...

    Blazers are the ones that came up with the idea that small pistol primers give you better accuracy then large pistol primers, like in 45acp for example!🇺🇲✝️🇺🇲

    👍 All but the X were great groups. My shooters do not seem to like it either. Thanks for the video.

    Surprising results. I know the super-X power point is my go too. Ive always loved Winchester since I was a kid, except their slugs I shoot Remington, my very first slug hunting experiences was with Winchester & I missed my first buck, twice. Turns out that gun hates Winchester slugs, switched to Remington & its like night & day difference; btw I got that buck with the Remington sluggers! The super-X power point shoots very accurate for me but most of all it does a awesome job on small game, I have literally gutted squirrels with it, it performs close to a 22 win mag on small game. Maybe you could do some more testing with it & others in gel, clay or something good to show expansion & or damage! Have a good one bud & God bless you guys. 👍

    Would like to see Wolf Gold, and CCI Green tag, shot out of your B14. They work the best for me.

    Here’s a secret, that “cheap bulk pack” blazer is the same stuff as the cci standards. Don’t believe me just compare them, they look identical and even have the cci logo on the head stamp.

    Remington and Blazer would have been my guess at being the poorest grouping. Very surprised. I shoot a lot of the Remington but maybe I won't hold my nose the next time I walk by some Blazer LR.... By the way, love that rifle.

    I think I know where my tax refund is going. A Bergara 22. 😁Just can't decide between the BMR and the BXR. 🤔

      If you plan on running standard ammo go with the BMR. The match chamber mixed with semi auto can jam with non match ammo. My BMR has a tight bolt with bulk stuff but no ejection problems yet. I have had some trouble with the magazines tho.
