IMHO run a blow-off valve, your turbo will thank you for that. You may not get those cool compressor flutter noises, but you'll we well-compensated by the "woosh" of the BOV (that is, if you vent to air). Love the progress you're making!

😂 Thanks. I’m glad I watched the video before installing the intake. Mine is a 1.6 to 1.8 swap and trying to figure the right tps since the 1.6 one doesn’t fit the skunk2 throttle body and the 1.8 tps plug is different than the 1.6 harness. Should I just rewire the plug to fit the 1.8 TPS? Thanks in advance.

You can get a BMW conversion kit or 1.8 TPS and rewire it

I love your videos and been following pretty closely to the point where mine looks similar but hopefully I’ll be done in roughly the same timeframe as yours

Id say a blowoff valve would look and sound good and would be better for the turbo. Also stupid question, but you rebuilt the engine ages ago. Does it matter if the assembly lube sits in there for ages? Will it start just the same as if you rebuilt it a few weeks ago?

Yeah it should be fine. I give it two rotations every now and then
