I love how "canonically" you can mix and match all the gear so we can just make whatever we want! Love it!
yeah, but most people probably won't recognize what you are cosplaying as.
@@johndank2209 doesn't matter too much; actual players will recognize you and I doubt most people will know helldivers well. most will probably ask if you're from star wars.
Im currently in the process of building a cosplay with the regular armor as a base, trailblazer helmet and ill modify it even further to look like a "veteran" helldiver of sorts with lots of adaptations to make fighting the enemies of super earth even more streamlined.
I literally bought a 3d printer just to start building a helldivers cosplay. This guide is a Godsend. Thank you!

I really want to see a high budget movie like Starship Troopers set in Helldivers universe.
You can it’s called starship troopers 😂 also you will never have another big budget studio director like Paul Ver Hoven again so don’t count on any movie adaptations being worth a damn.
@@drdickqueso There are a great amount of video game adaptations these days due to the generation that grew up with gaming are, well, grown up and are in the industry themselves. It's also very marketable; democracy vs giant bug aliens and terminators? Those definitely have been big box office hits.

Calling in a hellbomb on a detector tower and it rolls down a mountain
that sentry stratagem that lands perfectly on a cliff, bounces off and rolls into a pit

You could put a weight in the bottom of the stratagem beacon so the light always points up
The fact that you are so comfortable and are able to freely move around in the cosplay says a lot about your guys' great craftmanship and how well they thought out the design of the armor in the game. (Or im just overthinking everything 🙃)

Will say in addition to using PLA filament and a wood burner or soldering iron to "weld" pieces, I picked up a plastic welder that can heat up metal staples of various shapes to be pressed in on the back after gluing to reinforce the joins.

This is perfect timing for this to come out my wife and I planned on making a couple sets of the B0-1 (She'd prefer the trailblazer scout armor but we haven't found anything for that yet) for a con and this will greatly help with figuring this out. It will be our first time doing armor.

Pretty accurate on the strategem bounce.
Also with smoothing your armor motip spray putty fills it nicely and is easily sanded

Hell yeah, I'm working on mine right now. I am working to get the base costume done for anime central next month. I plan to program a pad on the tacpad piece, that accepts hand swipes, if successful, it will trigger the strategem ball to light up to that type of strategem (blue or red).

22:49 it took 1-2 competent squires to don and doff a knight's armor. Nothing to be ashamed of! It's a time-honored tradition!

One question I have is did you guys just rigidly glue all side pieces of the chestplate together as well as the front and back? Or did you glue it together with elesastic or something similar? Also what foam did you guys use EVA?
I’ve just about run through my roll of CosPLA on my Mando Heavy build. Do you find that it mixes ok with standard PLA if I need to swap rolls part way through a print?

To aid in being able to put stuff on solo, have you considered a strip or Velcro? For example where the foam is on the shin. Hold it in place for you to be able to do the buckles. Looks awesome :D

I'd love a more in depth look at how the torso is all constructed. Is the front and back hard connected at the shoulders or are they strapped together? How is the cape mounted in there? How about the sides of the torso?

Hey guys, got the files and starting to print them now. Do you have the base foam patterns as well? You showed off that the Vambraces have a foam base that the plates attach too. They also appear on the Thigh, shins, and Chest plates. Im sure I can figure it out myself, but you should include those as a file we can print on paper.
I’ll be at Dragoncon this year as well. Maybe I’ll make one of these and find y’all?
