I'm that guy who shoots mid 80s or mid 90s. Very inconsistent. Arms take over despite my efforts to turn the body. But yesterday I tried to match my strike with the turning of the chest. To do that I felt, like you describe, that my right elbow stayed close to my chest. (previously I would try to keep the elbow tight against the chest but my arms would take over). Long straight drives, good contact with irons and a feeling that this might be a repeatable swing🤞🤞🤞
Tried this exercise and to start with my rotation felt a bit restricted until I relaxed and then it felt natural and repeatable. This is definitely of those 'I CAN do this' tips. Many thanks Troy.
So my feels are taking the club back with my arms and my body will follow. Coming down I then just use my body. Sensation is that back of my left hand is same as the clubface. So if you go back and stop and then leave the arms alone and then use your body coming through your well of. Imagine hitting a sandbag you dont move that with a jab. So centrifugal forces come into play and that rotation and energy is multiplied into the club. Another's youtuber has great swing that just shows that. Gabe Gallucci. Thx for the upload. Myself included forget this sometimes and flip.
I Troy can do in practice but when on course you have to score so half way round getting a bit tired the arms take over and the chest stopes rotating then start pulling the ball left then the game goes to pieces 👍help
Hi Dave, yes I can relate to that. When you start getting tired it's important to stick with it. I would slow the swing down maybe 20% and focus on maintaining chest rotation. Do this as a pre-shot routine before each shot. By slowing the swing down and still rotating your quality of strike should improve/maintain and you'll be amazed at how far the ball is still going. It's a tough one, because it's slightly different for everyone. But this should help. Cheers

Absolutely! Golf is a rotation game. Well done.
Thanks Ken, yes you are exactly right. Cheers

Thanks Steve, glad it helped you out. Cheers

Thanks, yes that's a great feel to have. Something I'm working hard on at present also. Cheers
This is a must to do for good ball striking. U must also allow your head to rotate. Keeping your head down & back will restrict this rotation.
Yep, 100%
Really very good thanks - you appear to have almost nil wrist release - is that the best way - always thought this generated a lot of swing speed
Thanks Kevin, yes it looks that way, but there's always plenty of wrist release. It's just you don't want too much and flip it. Cheers
