  • In this video, discover the reasons why you have no chance of being able to rotate in the downswing and how to easily fix each of them.
    Every golfer on the planet needs to learn that rotation occurs as a byproduct of other variables being in the correct position. These variables include:
    * Posture
    * Clubface positioning
    * Width
    * Depth
    * Shaft pitch in transition
    By learning how to position all five of these correctly, you will effortlessly notice an improvement in your body's ability to rotate in the downswing.
    Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned golfer looking to enhance your swing, this video is a must-watch. Improve your golf game today with this comprehensive coaching session.

      Definitely no4. The hip rotation. Probably not textbook but my no1 takeaway thought is turn my trail hip back and up. The shoulders seem to follow automatically giving me depth. Following on is keeping my arms well extended in the backswing. These two elements have helped me to bring a more powerful and consistent strike. Cocking my wrists and trying to develop lag is another plus for me. Thanks for the insights 👍

    Giles, it's your resident spokesman back with you again. A comment by Bryan Gonzakes says it all. He states emphatically that your videos are like a $1,000 lesson. That might even be understating it!! Your drill in this video with the elastic band is a wonderful idea. An even better one you gave in a previous video was "The Belly Button Drill," attaching the butt end of the club to your belly button and extending back past parallel. This, as you stated, steadies the players head but also generates an INSANE amount of coil. After achieving this dynamic backswing position, it is easier for the kinetic chain to flow naturally. Your extra emphasis on having the player adjust their grip will bear fruit for those with "opposing " Another marvelous video. In my opinion, you have raised the bar in on-line instruction.

I hit some very solid irons in todays round- I have been around the 80-82 scoring range- today was 77 due more to my iron play. Today was close to 50% GIR - I have been averaging 31%. I think I've started getting some hip rotation just recently, though I haven't had anyone look at it to check. What seems to be helpful to me is to get so twisted around that I have no choice but to "unwind", so to speak. I think #4, depth, seems to be the closest to that. Getting a good result also depends a lot on keeping the left arm straight, which seems to be #3, width. Interestingly, it was compression that I was trying to work out that led me to this point. I think I finally understand what is meant by “dropping the club in slot”, which is a tip I heard but was confused. The changing and lowering of the shaft pitch on the down swing was never something I ever did, preferring to robotically keep everything in the same plane top to bottom (and required hand strength).
    My question is whether your shoulders and hips are locked together through the rotation, or do the hips rotate first leading the shoulder rotation through the swing? Or put another way, is the source of rotational power through the swing coming from just your legs keeping trunk square, or does it also involve moving obliques?

    The right elbow can easily fall behind and get stuck when dropping the club behind on initiating the downswing. Any tips on still keeping the arms in front of the chest and maintaining that triangle on the start of the downswing? Thank you!

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of the time this is caused by poor arm structure at the top of the backswing. Then from there chances are you’ll be working the arm internal and steepening it

    • @michaeltumen8574

      I do typically draw the ball. Wanted to focus on the lowering of the club at the onset of the downswing, you described. I noticed that there were times when I let my arms drop below parallel, I would hit behind the ball. Does think make sense as to why I was suddenly hitting behind the ball? I had to make sure the drop was subtle. Your teaching is terrific. Videos are simple, clear, and precise. I will continue to follow.@@Gilesgillgolf

      Your prompt reply is amazing. Your comment seems spot on. I will make sure to rotate more and give myself more time to shift left. I always end on the left side, but sometimes I get there a bit late.

    I think the key to moving the. trail hip backward in the backswing is to try to push the trail foot forward while the foot is engaged in the turf and cannot move forward,. SO this action so moves the trial hip back.

      Left arm doesn’t have to be straight but if it is excessively bending then focus on having clubface square, turning through impact and squeezing elbows together
