Not really. But, you could see beware of BEAR signs that were a little edgy. We could also see glimpses of the glacier from the road as we were walking to the National Park. Thank you for your question. We hope we helped and thank you for coming along on our journey around the world.
Does the excursion that you can book through the cruise line take you closer to the glacier than your bus did? Or does it drop people off at the same place as the local bus?
The city bus got us close to the Mendenhall Glacier. From the bus stop we walked to the Mendenhall Glacier National park where every excursion takes you. It doesn’t matter who you book it through, everyone goes to the same place. The city bus is way cheaper but not as convenient as a guided tour , especially for those who have mobility issues.
