  • This is a hero tribute video consisting of a compilation of scenes featuring an admirable kid hero from my memories, the stoic and exemplary Safety Patrol Officer, Cornelius Fillmore (voiced by Orlando Brown) from the show Fillmore! He proved to be an interesting hero to me because of his dedication to being better and improving lives because of the mercy he was shown despite his own criminal past. He also took no excuses for criminal actions and tried to encourage people to be better, something not easily seen in someone his age. Hope you enjoy him!

@Nasia The Chocolate Queen I can answer your question but just saying that by holding somebody's negative past over them forever you are only ensuring that they will have no opportunity to change. How can you realistically expect anyone to change when they know they will only ever be known for their past and that their positive changes will not be recognised?
At some point you just have to realise that being bitter and holding grudges towards people only perpetuates negativity. *If you truly want people to change then you have to be fully willing to accept them after they have done so. No exceptions.*
You can forgive without forgetting, but part of forgiving means not holding their past over their heads for the rest of their lives.
Nobody is saying they shouldn't take responsibility for their past, that is a separate discussion entirely. Taking responsibility is part of changing, by changing you are already admitting that you were wrong in the past and are taking responsibility for it.

    • @arstulex
      @arstulex 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

@Nasia The Chocolate Queen "Well that's your opinion"
Yes... Yes it is. What you are saying is also YOUR opinion. I'm not sure why that matters or needed to be said.
If you don't want people to change then that's entirely your prerogative. My point is that IF you want somebody to change then you have to actually allow them to.
What you should probably consider though is why you don't want people to change. You'd prefer a world where bad people never change for the better?
Then again, judging by your childish mentality of "I don't care! I don't care! That's just your opinion, I don't care!" I doubt you're really willing nor capable of any meaningful discussion. You're welcome to prove me wrong though.

@@arstulex Except Trump said that bad thing over a decade ago... over 5 years ago... over a year ago.... over a month ago... over a day ago...
The difference with Trump is that he hasn't changed. He's the same grifting con-man today that he has been for decades. And he has no desire to change because he never experiences any consequences... Imagine you are Trump... you have all your father's money, you can start as many failing businesses as you like without having to fear losing your house, you can do whatever you want to women because no one ever believes them anyway and even when they do... you still get rewarded with the highest position of power in an entire country, you can tell people that you raping your wife was either a lie or impossible, you can tell people investigating you for crimes to stop the investigation, you can use the highest office in the land to help you get billion dollar trademark deals in China (this really happened, he has been trying to get a trademark in China for decades and it suddenly got approved when he became the president), you can funnel taxpayer money into your own pocket by forcing the secret service to rent golf carts/rooms from your company, etc. And people just go with it.
There's never any consequences, so of course he isn't going to change. In the case of Trump, you have to bring up the past because he never ever suffered any consequences in the first place! Once a person has served their time, then we should no longer judge them for their past, but Trump has never once owned up to his actions and taken the consequences. Therefore, using Trump as an example is not the best idea. A better example would be not judging a murderer who is released from prison, because at least then they experienced the consequence of their actions.

@@davesnyder7488 are we talking about them preventing these events from happening, or dealing with them as they happen? Personally, I don't think this is the kind of show that can deal with a school shooting as it happens (not saying the show is bad, but I will never accept such a terrible event being cartooned - that's just wrong, and the art style wouldn't help), but otherwise this would be the perfect show to achieve such a task

I’m pretty sure the real reason is they ran out of ideas. Big shows like Kim Possible changed up the formula from one season to the next. Although well-written, Fillmore never strayed far from its method (nor did it feature one of them bright, popular color pallets). By the second season’s conclusion, it’s easy to see a mild depletion of creativity. While an excellent show, Fillmore simply never raised its stakes or expanded much on itself.

That last scene was harsh. But Fillmore will never throw away his principles for anyone, not even an old flame. Everyone could learn a thing or two from this young man.
Great video as always. If possible, here are some hero suggestions for future videos:
J'ohn Johnzz is a Magnificent Martian
Himora Kenshin is a Righteous Ronin
    Goliath is a Gallant Gargoyle
Optimus Prime (animated) is an Audacious Autobot
    Prowl is a Noble Ninja
    Swat Kats are Radical Rebels

I cannot upload videos of Kenshin, Goliath, or the Swat Kats since I know they'll be blocked soon. I can try the others, but Martian Manhunter can prove difficult considering I haven't been able to upload other videos from the DC Animated Verse due to stricter copyright claims. As for Prowl and Optimus Prime, there's not a lot of decent lines for them, but I'll see what I can do in time.
