This is my favorite A Perfect Circle song. I've cried many times listening to this song. It's pure perfection, and will always have a special place in my heart.
It’s like saying , it’s one of those obstacles in life a lot of people run into and you just have to realize it’s just a part of life and everything changes and we have to excepts that………………. But it’s just too damn painful to ever forget😢
I watched A Perfect Circle live a few years ago. Yesterday I watched Tool perform live in Amsterdam. And in a few months I'll watch Puscifer perform. Can't get enough of good ol' Maynard, even though he called us a bunch of sleepy grandmas yesterday, lol.
One thing people fail to mention is how many of their tracks are actually waltzes including this one. It's very interesting. I don't know how many people realize this.
This song is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs I have ever experienced and touches my soul each time I hear it even though I’ve heard it hundreds of times. Judith is also a good one to check out that really showcases Maynard’s vocals. It about his mother who was bound to a wheelchair after an illness…I won’t say anymore to give it away. I’ll let you listen…
“jesus maynard” lol this has been one of my favorite unrequited love songs for over 20 years. your little quip after the track was perfect. thanks for the chuckle. i feel the same; just never expressed it that way before.
This album came out about the same time that I realized that the girl, i say girl because well i was very very young, i "loved" would never love me. It is amazing what time and healing will do for priorities, and then I got to experience it all again twenty years later ouch.
This song always takes me back to lonely times in high school and college. I love it so much, but it also makes me sad. The line "You don't see me" absolutely sums up how I felt for those years of my life when it came to love interests.
So tragic, to be so deeply in love with someone in a relationship and they cast you aside as if you're nothing to them. 3 Libras, or 3lbs, is approximately the weight of the human brain. Whoever Maynard was singing about, he couldn't get them off his mind.
Dude I love how Maynard names songs that you think have nothing to do with it but looking deeper they do. Like his lyrics fuck didn’t know that and I’m Hispanic lmao Libras! Idk how that passed over my head
>> in their aMotion DVD, he explained this is a song about parasitic-like people seeing something different or special about a person. Instead of nurturing that quality or helping that person grow, the "3 Libras" feed off of the energy in a bad way instead of using it for good. It sounds like you don't have it nailed down with the "so deeply in love" 3lbs gooshy stuff.
@@Trepanation21 The beauty about art is that it is subjective. I will happily go on enjoying this song for what it means to me, even if it is just "gooshy stuff".
Keenan shed some light on this song in their aMotion DVD, where he explained this is a song about parasitic-like people seeing something different or special about a person. Instead of nurturing that quality or helping that person grow, the "3 Libras" feed off of the energy in a bad way instead of using it for good. On aMotion, Keenan also mentioned that he wrote the song for about 9 or so people in his life that have birthdays around the same time, hence the name "3 Libras." He titled it so the people with the Libran birthdays could battle it out to figure who he wrote the song about. Essentially, transforming the title into a prank on these friends.
My favorite tracks from Mer De Noms are "MAGDALENA", "THOMAS" and "SLEEPING BEAUTY"!!! All three songs are hard, haunting AND sexy, which is tough to pull off, imo. You'll love 'em!! I had the pleasure of seeing A.P.C. play Mer De Noms in it's entirety several years ago, and they absolutely crushed it. 😍❤🔥
This is such a beautifully haunting song that gives you chills. Maynard James Keenan is a man of MANY talents. If you haven’t done The Hollow, Judith, or My Magdalena they’re great as well. Also check out his band Puscifier and the song The Mission with Milla Jovavich
Maynard also owns a winery. He opened it as another avenue to explore art. In line of this quote from him “The idea is, if I can't heal from my art, then how can you heal?”. He named the winery Caduceus Cellars. He has special bottles that are produced under the Judith name and has also opened up a smaller side project (Merkin Vineyard) and a experimentation winery for his wines. I joined early on just to get the free Autographed poster from Maynard. However, his wines were actually really good so I have stayed a member ever since. During the pandemic in one of the club shipments Maynard sent pencils and urged club members to take this time to create and not feel down. Each shipment comes with a description of the bottles that are almost like poetry at times. He has many expressions even outside of music that are great. I do not know if you like wine but if you ever wanted to try one of his wines while listening to his songs I would be happy to help procure one and set that up! I enjoy drinking his wine and just watching tool rock out!
3 Libras is a top 3 of all time for me in my life. Tears ever single time I play this. Beautiful song. The hint of nostalgia I get with this song as well is crazy.
Thank you for these Perfect Circle reacts. I absolutely love this band. You should also check out The Noose and Outsider. They also did a great cover of John Lennon's Imagine.
Love this song, so happy you reacted to this! Tragic story of all of us having a soulmate but often don’t connect or they don’t see us. Beautiful reaction as always, can’t wait for more Tool soon!
I just recently subscribed to your channel and I have to say you do a really good job explaining what these songs mean to you which is a much needed departure from all the vocal analyst reacts. Since its raining I think it will be a good time to check out your library, keep up the great work 👍
Wow watching you react to a song that I’ve had such strong feelings for, for years, & seeing those very same feels wash over you was absolutely beautiful & I completely thank you for every second of that video💯👍👍✅
I remember this song back when it was played on the radio a lot. But man... I was not ready for the absolute gut-punch of emotion to hit me. It's amazing the difference 22 years can have on your perspective and interpretation of a song.
You just got a new subscriber this is one of my favorite albums of all time. Really got me through some really rough times. Brena is my favorite song off this album.
this one of my favorite songs when i was a kid. its one of the few songs ill always remember and recommend to people who are lookin for this type of sound
This may be the greatest longing song ever created. This still puts a spell on me even after all these years. I see it in your face too. Glad to see others resonate so deeply as well.
Great reaction to one of my favs. I've been watching your Maynard reactions and this one convinced me to sub. Your analysis of each song is amazing and your reactions are genuine and heartfelt. Keep up the great work.
If you combine this with Devin Townsend's Deadhead, you get the "notice me senpai" beauty of 3 Libras to see the thing you love fall, and then in Deadhead, the thing you love so much is the thing that kills you, tearing you asunder, but because you love it, you let it.
in some ways its about closing a chapter too. Once you've seen this person, offered them tests (opportunity) and they proved your newfound understandings of humans... It's rich. It's human. It's growth. It's maturing.
Yeah, everyone can relate to this song in some way. It's beautiful enough that I wish it was longer, but this song is probably the exact length it should be.
Hey, Aileen I love your reactions 🥰 and I thought why not offer you a video. I am French and I have a small French group to make you discover that I love it and at the same time make it discover to others the group is called öOoOoOoOoOo yes they are a little crazy but it reads caterpillar and the video is "I Hope You Sleep Well/Well-Oiled Machine (live shot @ Black Bear Studio)
One of the best APC songs imo. I have recommended this before but I have a feeling you will really enjoy Passing light of day by Pain of Salvation. The songs is more like a journey and even though its from a concept album, its a great stand alone song.
From APC (guitars/backup vocalist) taking the lead vocal spot Ashes Divide - "The Sword", "Denial Waits", "The Stone", "Too Late", etc... ...and if you want to hear me, I'm under " Room Spin Rally", and "Avian9" on here. Cheers.
Although it’s a (relatively speaking) unconventional song, my favorite Perfect Circle song is “Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drum.” Something about the grinding rhythm of that song gets to me. A close second is “The Noose.” You should also check out the only Perfect Circle song written in a major key, “So Long and Thanks for All the Fish.” Lastly, I am very curious to see your reaction to Pusifer, whenever your journey takes you there.
When you have a chance on your own watch the official video of this it's kind of cool to see it. Then watch the live performance on Jay Leno or Conan I can't remember
To me this is a song that is about loving a broken person who is unable return that love.
yep and that hurts like hell. you have to walk but you fear if you do they might... not treat themselves kindly.
I think it was originally about his Mom. She died of cancer and was a devout Christian and he felt she lost her way.

my favorite part when james says “OHH WELL”, it generates me a peace I don't know why and at the same time nostalgia
It really does. You can feel how hard he tried to get the message through but they just aren't receiving it.
I always thought he should have put one at the end as well... It's an amazing touch

Tool is music for the mind, A Perfect Circle is music for emotion, and Pusicfer is a blend of both.
I love how sensitive & emotional you are in videos, that's very vulnerable, which shows a lot of inner strength.
The sadness and the beauty.... Brings my heart to tears. Just perfection.
youre so right
Paz Lenchantin played the strings on this song/album and a few others. She is amazing!
When she fixes her hair in the Judith video in between riffs.... man i went back to high school crush mode on that one.
She's admitted to playing on stage without her underwear and actually getting orgasims.
Paz is what I want from a woman

I love The Noose. Just a beautiful song. Maynard’s non-screaming voice at his absolute best.

YES! the Noose!
@@orbislame I think his "screaming" vocals are just as good
