I just turned 70 (Kris 85 in June) and his music - especially this song - has more relevance for me than ever. Have now ordered the "Breakthrough" dvd and the "Repossessed" cd, which I only just realised are missing from my collection. Thanks for the information. Saw Kris in Glasgow at what turned out to be his last European tour, as a combination of Covid and age (I think) has led to him announcing he won't tour again. So very thankful I got the chance. Boy, can he still hold an audience. Just Kris and the Strangers onstage with a couple of spotlights, singing all the old, well-loved songs. When the audience joined in the chorus of "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down, it was truly magical. His music will lasr forever.
Kris is great and his music has helped me through many stages of life. I know his age but I so wish he'd show support for the Truckers right now. The world has been crazy for some time but we're seeing the zenith right now. To Kris and all beautiful souls out there ❤️🙌💕
Muchos artistas que murieron an tenido mucha prensa , pero en Argentina no la tuvo como debiera yo que soy anti Yanki lo recuerdo siempre y buena persona a mi parecer trasmitia paz
One of the absolutely greatest musicians in this world!!! I was lucky enough to get to experience him live on stage a couple of years ago and that evening will stay in my heart forever!
thank u kris i truly adore ur music , listening to it now ,brings back memories of family who have come and gone . rip . u and the american outlaws where are true legends , love u all
Greatest songwriter of the last 50 years. In South Africa we could make his songs our own in the early 70's as we partied a lot in our 20's( Sunday morning...) and we sang his songs next to fires during the Border War in the Caprivi. Still love his songs which was great poetry as well, so sad he retired. Hope he will still write songs. He also did boxing and football
Much appreciation BKKF for getting KK out there. Of course, KK won my undying allegiance 50 years ago when I first heard his endearing voice singing The Silver Tongued Devil and I. His unique way of grasping the words that encircle him is almost a magical thing. One of a kind man, is our KK. Being a legend carries a high price tag. KK has paid that debt in full. He deserves the honor.
Thanks for your comment and supports, your comments and constant support has brought me this far. Keep Supporting ❤️ please send me a via.kriskristofferson6@gmail.com
One of many of my favourite songs, - you know..Love the lyric..-and Kris, love very much when he is clapping his hands..A great song..Thank you, Tina...for making everything all over again..
This is my all time favorite song of Kris. Went to see him in concert list night in Des Moines, Iowa an lo and behold this was his very first song of the evening. He put on one heck of a show! The guy still has it. Just him and his guitar solo all evening. Tremendous performance!
As always, an amazing poet and activist. One of my favorite of his songs. I think he is truly concerned about the world, I saw an interview with him and he was talking about William Blake and how he said (paraphrasing here) that a person will never be happy until they are trying to make the world a better place, that they will always feel an emptiness. I am pretty sure Kris will never have to worry about that. And I am madly insanely in love with him, second only to my husband, since I was 4.
Francine Scandalis if you watch the other Breakthrough videos with the playlist, he talks in them as well about a lot of things. Just in case you haven't already found them ... th-cam.com/play/PL28E357850AF8025F.html
Cash was always my standard when it came to this sort of music. I'm more of a rock guy. I heard this in the background while watching The Wooly Boys starring Kris and Peter Fonda. I watch Peter Fonda movies when I most miss my father because they could have been twins. This song hits me square in the soul. This man is brilliant.
Back in the early seventies, this great man first came into my life and made a huge difference. I was 18 and was doing national service in the army. I guess I was going through my own “shipwreck”. Honestly thought that the storm would pass and that a form of nirvana was waiting to coddle me into a joyful and fulfilling life. Any grown intelligent adult will tell you that isn’t how life works. The storm doesn’t actually abate, it’s always there, somewhere waiting. I just have learned to swim harder, stronger and made better use of the “lifeguards”, (family friends and any other root or branch that has been in reach when about to go under) Albeit unwittingly KK has played a major part in my life! Thank you for all the great songs, they really have made a positive impact. And for all the great uploads THANK YOU! Have subscribed.
I first met Kris back in the hungry days through Vince Matthews. The first time I hear him sing slightly off key I knew he was a poet far beyond the understanding of most people back then. His circle was small but strong. To hear him sing in the wee hours of the morning was like being in a different world listen to a language you almost had forgotten until you hear it again. Oh the familiar sound of truth and this was the 60's.
This is probably one of my favourite songs of Kris’s, albeit it’s difficult to say that none are the best. A true poet and great singer contrary to what some say.
Thank you for the upload! You've really made my day way better... I love the song and to see him sing like that, wonderfull... Getting to see him live, was one of the best moments of my life!!!
@samneno1 Having listened to more of his music I can understand why. I actually came about his music/acting completely backwards. See, I was born in '84, and Dad introduced me to Steve McQueen's movies when I was 10. So I grew up on those, as well as being a fan of McQueen. So one day I was reading a book on McQueen and in the middle they had a selection of pictures - and I saw one of Kris working out at Steve's. So I looked him up figuring he was probably another good actor from the time.
I long for music like this today. There's nothing like Kris out there. Mostly just party songs or songs that objectify women. Not much with a whole lot of deep meaning.

Phillip Penn It's Glen Clark on the harp
