Hey Robert! You should definitely try and get up north to NY state for some bomb fishing. I know you have fished the Susquehanna river in PA with Joe Raymond, but j would like to show you some spots further upstream, in NY. No need for a boat. We can shore fish, wade, or wet wade when it's nice out, and slay all the smallmouth bass you wish for, but also walleye, muskie, pike, endless big channel catfish and much more from one spot. It's epic fishing up this way. You should definitely holler. I don't live on the river myself, actually about 2 hours away by car, but every single trip out there is well worth it. 4 rivers, a reservoir, a spillway and a dam, within 15 minutes driving apart. Epic fishing. Tight lines. Watched every single video of yours at least twice lol
Crappie has been my favorite eating fish for 50+ years! Back when I was young, (Early Jurassic Era) you could load the cooler with 1 1/2 to 2lb Crappie. I miss those days. ... Great video, Robert! Keep doing the cooking vids.
That makes me happy, Bill!! They don't in Tennessee anymore. Asian Carp have destroyed so many wonderful lakes. It's very sad. But, you keep catching them! Best freshwater meat ever! Peace, my friend.
@@charlessneed793 And, Asian Carp eat EVERYTHING!! Bass, Crappie, Bream, you name it. They have ruined all of the once wonderful fishing lakes in West Tennessee, and North Mississippi.
One day when you want to try something new. I do a 3 part mix for my batter/coating. 1 part flour, 1 part corn meal, 1 part instant potato flakes. Add whatever season you want. And fry it.
Ha, I'm seeing this video 20 hours after it posted. I literally cooked up some Crappie last night, but I used some blackening season and threw them in a dry cast iron skillet. I'll have to try this recipe next time. Crappie are like freshwater snapper...delicious! And yes, I like seeing the cooking part of the fishing videos too, so keep them coming!
Crappie is my fave! I have a freezer full from this spring.....I live on lake Tawakoni so we have ample supply spring and fall. You have a traeger!!!??? Lucky!
We’ve got 6 in our household and we try to keep our limit in the freezer at all times. As soon as we tear into em it’s time to go catch em again. I’ve created a couple deep brush piles on long points with current on one side and soft water on the other that we catch em on during the times they’re not pulled up which is just the hot months here. One thing is for certain we’re gonna have crappie and catfish on hand at all times.
I like ur show bro from the time u been to NZ. Ur got some great videos n now I'm watching all 1at a time. Great stuffs bro. LOVE TO go fishing if I get a chance on ur next trip to NZ
Went fishing in Walmart got 4 lb.Whiting my bait was Jackson paper bill.w/ change on it..cooked it in Extra Virgin oil after rolling it in flour ,spices, sprinkle them ->Cheyenne powder-> yummy
Awesome video, but do you think that an air fryer would also work for this? It just happens to be easy to use and what I have available so I would like to know your opinion.
Great video. I have to know --- What did Max think of tarter sauce? I remember when my best friend and I stayed up all night catching buckets of crappie, after working all day. He got cheesed off because I fell asleep and he had to finish cleaning the fish. Good times!
I thought I could smell it but it was just my dad cooking curry I'm from new Zealand and I loved the last trip u did there u should come to the bay of islands sometime
Hey I had a question do u still have ur own kayak on the market I remember ur video mabby last year about a kayak u designed but haven’t seen anything else on it is that still on the market ?
So I notice a change with your presentation style and I like it. More of a Mike Rowe approach, good stuff. On the food side why is the water removal important?
I have Marinate in milk or buttermilk Then blot dry . It takes the fishie or game taste away And if you wanna go all out go get some zanarands Cornmeal flour
Doesn't really matter unless you don't want your food to taste like olive oil/want to save a tiny bit of money. The smoke point just means the flavor is being muted, most current food science suggests there's no health risk from cooking in oil past its smoke point.
Paper plates bro, step up your game!!! Hell try something new, and offer your guest a glass with ice!!! Well balanced kids with manners... refreshing!!! Great video and I just subbed ya. w.w./Oklahoma
Haha I help feed 'em. They've got four. Used to have five but coyotes took one this winter when we brought their Great Pyrenees in for one night because it was so cold. He keeps em safe most nights.
THE REASON WHY SOME FISH TASTE FISHY IS BECAUSE OF THE BLOODLINE. SALMON, CATFISH, KINGFISH ARE SOME OF THOSE FISH. REMOVE THE BLOODLINE AFTER FILLETING.
Who else liked this video before it started?!!!!
I liked it before it started but after all the nonsense I’m leaving before they even start cooking. Cut to the chase my man

Madeline: There's your proof.
Hahahaha LMAO

Cool vid Rob! Love a fresh fish cookup. Stay safe man👍
Thanks Dom
Fillets in England as well if we ever get off lockdown I'll try that recipe
Does look great i do that to my speckled trout. You can always sprinkle some water in the grease and if it pops it is hot enough 👍
Thanks bud. Always love your content. Always the best.
Rob, you threw a slow pitch and she hit out of the park saying it was idiot proof. Lol . Another great video Robert. Stay safe.
I have never used olive oil. I like my fish very crisp. Thanks for the video,

Haha funny! He’s not a big sauce guy but he ate a little bit of it
Can't get enough TAR TAR with fried fish! Looks good.
Love it
Grandma taught me, never rinse, buttermilk, cornmeal with peanut oil. Grad a lemon.
Both great!
Thinking video switched before I posted. Haha.
Sounds delicious
Tried the NZ 5 spice with some pork chops and it was delicious. Gunna try this with some snapper.
We love the cooking keep me coming
I thought I could smell it but it was just my dad cooking curry
I'm from new Zealand and I loved the last trip u did there u should come to the bay of islands sometime
Great content for us covid hermits!
It looks delicious 👍🏾🎣
Me and Tanya loved the video!!!! HILLARIOUS
You need to go hunting with Steven Rinella and he needs to go fishing with you. That would make for a badass episode of Meat Eater.
I’d love to link up with Steven. I’m a big fan of his show
Robert Field that would be epic. You guys have similar mindsets and philosophies with the outdoors. I bet it would work.
i wish more people would share ideas how to cook different species. some of the things i love to catch, i only know one way to cook
Why aren't you filming Max? Did Max try the Tartar Sauce? People will be asking!!! Been looking for videos from him as well. Thanks for the video!
Soo exited for this vid
Nice video as always, man!
Hey I had a question do u still have ur own kayak on the market I remember ur video mabby last year about a kayak u designed but haven’t seen anything else on it is that still on the market ?
Yep. Talked about it in the video before and the one after this one. Lightningkayaks.com
Cool thanks I’ll watch it 🤙🏽
Best freshwater fish in the world
I would absolutely love to go fishing with you, and cook up what’s caught!!
Why. He can't cook it
I have to disagree with you on the tarter sauce though. I love cocktail sauce with my fried fish. Great video.
So I notice a change with your presentation style and I like it. More of a Mike Rowe approach, good stuff. On the food side why is the water removal important?
Just found ur Chanel today, binging everything
Awesome man and welcome to Field Trips!
More catch and cooks!
Wet-ever, weeds and caressing a woman out takes. Good stuff
Hahaha
I love your catch and cooks, please do more!!!
Those are some nice size crappies

Kenny Passante how long do you marinate it?]

This looks delicious, reminds me of my Memaw's recipe! That EVOO is killing me, though. The smoke point on olive is real low.

Close the bathroom door! Hahahaha

Love it 🔥🔥
DELICIOUS!
That kid is sharp
What great lake are you going to. You could be near me.
1st ingredient $79 worth of EVO 😂😂😂
Hahahaha basically

This vidoe pissed me off, caught 15 crappie yesterday big fatty ones.AND thought they were trash fish and released them.Dang
That corn meal is racist lol
Probably
THE REASON WHY SOME FISH TASTE FISHY IS BECAUSE OF THE BLOODLINE. SALMON, CATFISH, KINGFISH ARE SOME OF THOSE FISH. REMOVE THE BLOODLINE AFTER FILLETING.
your fish looks good man, but get some of that grease off your fish man!!!
Those fillets looked like there was some nice belly meat wasted RIP
Jail bait
Couldn't get past 1/3 of the video. Too much yakking.
