There's nothing better than sitting down to a meal with family & food you've caught, killed or grown. Phil you are a very wise man.
I am almost sixty and my dad died before I was born leaving my mom who didn't drive with 4 kids and me on the way.
I can't stop watching your cooking shows. It feels like I have been missing this my whole life...I love how you just talk and teach like a super wise dad would and you make everything seem so easy.

My old man is from Missouri, growing up they called them Morgan cats. He fries them the same way , salt and pepper corn meal.

The cool thing about these cooking videos with Phil in the kitchen is the presentation of the concept that regular guys can get in the kitchen and make delicious food for their loved ones. The idea that it isn't unmanly or something to be in the kitchen.ill have to try that recipe some day if I happen to have some fish to cook. 👍🐟

Thank you Mr. Phil. You are a good man and remind me of my grandpa. He hand built his own hoop nets and did everything the old school way. He’s the one that got me into cooking. No matter who I was dating his first question was..”who’s doing the burning in the kitchen?” Always wanted to make sure I wasn’t relying on anyone else’s to cook for me. Bless ya Phil I learned to cook at 15 at a culinary school and haven't stopped my whole life except for the odd eat-out for a change and I like this recipe I will give it a tryout. Banquets were my specialty but now I cook for my wife and our dog thats it =) Holidays family sits and yaks while I do my thing it is the joy of my life to do this to make folks Happy-Happy~ Peace to your family sir~

Great video! I've found that adding a little bit of cornstarch to the mix helps the fry stay on the fish and keeps it from getting soggy.
What about an Egg 🥚 ?
Your oil isnt hot enough if your breading is falling off. Hard to fry fish on an electric stove, i bet this what youre using to cook with.

He’s a very refined, humble man 🙏 My Dad grew up similar to Phil in Louisiana at that. He even looked spot on like him. Beard and height and all. He gave his life to Jesus as well just later on. Phil is an inspiration

Out here in Oregon, land of fruits, flakes and nuts, we are not blessed with Ops catfish. But the Lord has blessed us with rock fish along our coast. I’m going to try your method on them.
