  • The Tunisian Revolution sparked the Arab Spring. But revolution was the easy part-as two women learned on the journey from protest to functioning government. Emna Ben Jemaa and Jawhara Ettis represent opposite sides of their country’s politics: One is a well-known journalist in the city, fighting for free speech. The other is a strict Islamist from a rural town, elected to help draft the new constitution. Despite their differences, both face the threat of extremists hijacking their fragile political process, and both Emna and Jawhara have to make difficult choices to balance their public political roles with their domestic environment.
The film is a gripping and surprising perspective on the clash between Islam and secularism, and the political role of women in the Arab world. Offering an insightful portrait of the messy work of democracy, A REVOLUTION IN FOUR SEASONS is especially poignant in this global era of divided politics.

So what I learned is a lot of people actually do want woman in politics and there is so much mixing conflicting commentary on Arab culture vs “Islamic world” my problem is that the entire conversation becomes invalid. Are we blaming Arab culture for segregation of genders? , the era of the world “back then”? Or Islam? From what I see this “documentary” did more twisting of the narrative then clarify the progression of woman TO THIS MOMENT. Not what they’re doing now.

She’s lying, islam gives rights to women, she’s a liar. Islam gave rights to women before you guys did, watch Ertugrul. Once you’ve watched that show you’ll see how REAL MUSLIMS treat women.

*It's ruled by ignorance, brain washing and with the barrel of a gun pointed to the population head to submit, democracy cannot exist under Islam unless it's govern by a dictator, royal family, king or Military, using a puppet figure as the head of state*

You do realise even the people that didn’t want ennahdha are muslims too? The problem is not religion, it’s extremism and using islam in politics it’s not hard to understand. Thank god they didn’t stay in power now each one practices their religion personally and no ones forces anything. My country has been through a lot and islam has been used in such wrong ways. Thank god i don’t follow when it comes to religion and still love islam because it really is about peace. Stupidity and hate ruin it for others

Stockholm syndrome has been defined as a condition in which hostages develop a psychological alliance with their captors during captivity. Emotional bonds may be formed between captor and captives, during intimate time together, but these are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims.
