    Stumbled on this topic today "Farm exposures, parental occupation, and risk of ewing's sarcoma". The risk of pesticides seems to get downplayed a lot, many farmers believing they are safe, since they are not prohibited. (Similar for all kinds of special treatments to your utensils or cookware. Really a lot of kinds of environmental exposures. Kind of analogous to how designer drugs are created. One is prohibited, the other is introduced)
    This example (parental chemical exposure) seems one reason the environmental contribution to cancers gets frequently underestimated.

      100% correct if you want to be constipated. Fibre give bulk to the stool... So if you wanna make something bigger pushing it through a small hole. Be my guest... That's why vegan channels have to have hours and hours of videos on constipation. And if you read the comments on them it shows that constipation is huge in the vegan communities.
      In contrast go watch carnivore videos on constipation, read the comments and see if you might spot a difference. There is a difference and the difference is that they don't suffer from constipation.
      Surely there are some that do but in comparison to vegans it's not even a discussion to start

    How do we know it is the fiber and not all the other great things in whole plant foods (or the combination of them all)?
    Whole food plant based for 5 years now and never going back

    • @NutritionFactsOrg
      @NutritionFactsOrg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Xperience Evolution! That is a good point, since whole plant foods provide complete packages of fiber and other nutrients. Of course, as mentioned in the video, some plants provide more fiber than others. To some extent, fiber intake is a proxy for consumption of whole, plant-derived foods. I think it is likely that a combination of factors are involved, but to get enough fiber, we must consume a large variety of whole plant foods. I hope that helps!

      Peanuts are, nutritionally speaking, nuts. However, it's true that they're botanically viewed as legumes, since they grow in a pod. By the way, almonds and walnuts are seeds contained inside a fruit.

    Any general aches and pains I used to have are pretty much gone or very bearable now on a vegan diet. My theory is that fiber helps with chronic pain cause it helps waste products transit out in a timely manner.

      I do have mild constipation anyway even though I'm vegan and eat 50g fiber a day minimum (usually closer to 80-90g). I poop once every two-three days, which is how it's always been even before I started eating healthy a few years ago. To be fair the stool is a lot softer now so at least I don't have to strain, but it seems that higher fiber intake doesn't actually increase frequency.
