Imagine if the fans made a whole game of MVC. I wouldn’t mind joining in for that.
I think there’s a ton of them made in Mugen, but not much outside of that to my knowledge
There’s a Sega vs Capcom fan game in the works but no Marvel one though

I, actually, wouldn't mind if fans made a platform fighter ala *Jump Ultimate Stars* that featured comic book/manga, cartoon/anime and game characters from around the world.
Then again, I'm sure that there are other crossover fighters that have features that players find enjoyable (ie 'Adventure Mode', avatar creation, etc).
Plus, who knows, perhaps it will inspire others to mod other games (ie Super Robot Wars, Virtual/Fire Pro Wrestling, Project X Zone) or make their own superlative titles.
I doubt that anyone would object to a continuation of a classic series (ie The Owl House, Daria, etc) or giving a cancelled project (ie Learning With Pibby) getting a second chance.
Let's see what happens from here. ^_^
Mods like this can keep games alive and yet corporations see it as a threat somehow which is sad. I will definitely re-buy this game on PC for this mod.

It's really heartwarming to see this game rebirthed by the community after the neglect that Capcom showed it. Hopefully with the new collection coming out, Capcom takes notice of this effort and MvC can get a refresh on the level of Street Fighter.

Now all we need is custom characters for thsi mod and then it’s good. But is that possible?
I think it should be easier to add characters into mvci than mvc3. Since i think mvci is unreal engine which is easier to work with, the only problem is that less people care to work on mvci over mvc3.

its hard to be excited about a project that only works on PC. I don’t understand why game mods are never for the console versions. You figure someone would’ve figured it out over the years.

i just genuinely hope he removes the stone system. genuinely hate that.
I didn't hate the game but there was just too much going on in the game. Sure they can improve the visuals of the characters and that's cool but at the end of the day it's the same game... gameplay wise. I even recently went back and was watching a bunch of matches on random channels, even new matches where people still play the game to this day. It's still super chaotic and lots of times you just don't know what's happening and it's just not fun to keep watching or even play. MvC3 even thou it's fast and crazy too you at least know literally everything that's going on in the game even to the smallest little detail. MvCi on the other hand is just too wacky to take serious.

I don't know, how your journey in life went, but I remember, wayyy before Resident Evil 2 Remake came out, a modder came out with a remake of that of his own, a third person one, complete with a lighting source in the dark system, the flashlight, and Capcom made it official to absorbed the guy into themselves. And then, years later, Poof, RE2 Remake came ou!t And that was a random modder. Max had literally worked under Capcom. If anything, they'll take the lazy route and only iron out the details after they absorbed the group's work, and THEN, sell it to the masses.Fingers crossed they won't take it, but you know what I mean.
A second possible problem that might arise, will be that, Capcom's executives will once again have a different lineup of characters in their agenda to be pushed as opposed to those that the players actually want, to usher in the fifth phase of the MCU or whatever, like how they did with MVC3, when they bruteforced MCU characters that hadn't came out yet back then. In hindsight, it was kinda nice, but wouldn't it be wiser to add those characters AFTER phase 3 had finished and players HAD BEEN acquaintanced to the new characters, after they have been exposed to them in mainstream pop culture?

As for the suing. Capcom has been chill about modding. for the most part. They will only make a move if they have something in the works themselves.
