I don't understand how the TH-cam algorithm could fix this. I distinctly remember playing against you with this deck a couple days ago playing izzet Phoenix. I wasn't even in this video and I rarely watch magic gameplay videos especially from smaller creators. So I fully don't get how TH-cam decided to show this to me but it was definitely interesting seeing the lines from the other side.
If you use the MTGA app on mobile, you'll notice that it has trackers happening in background (there are apps that can detect and block most of them, but that another story). Those trackers collect your info from the device. Then the company shares that info to other companies, and that happens over and over again until, in this case, TH-cam gets your info. It's a whole massive network happening in the background without you noticing it
On that last game, if you were worried about storm count for tendrils, you could have looped beseech with bargain into itself since you had those purses in play already.
What I was worried about was drawing Tendrils off of Song before my Beseech resolved, and then being left with Tendrils in my hand without four mana to cast it. There were several more optimal lines than the one I took
love it! ive had great results with a deck more all in on song, and ive heard of builds including dragons rage channeler, enhanced surveillance, and breach to make that even better. might be overall more consistent, but yours is definitely better for, well, turn 1 wins. also, if rare wildcards arent too hard to come by, chalice is an awesome 0 drop that can be good even if the game goes longer, highly recommend!
I'm tempted to see how high in the ladder I can get with this nonsense turn 1 version ... if I stop having fun, perhaps I'll think about being more competitive!
ok, i've created the best doppleganger build that i could despite the huge number of cards that i'm missing annd so far so awesome!! i REALLY LOVE your timeless build!! i will keep striving to collect the rest of it. i truly hope they never start banning cards in timeless. but out of curiosity, what do you imagine might be added to the restricted list in the future?
hey, cheers! The format is way too new to guess what might be restricted, but so far, it doesn't seem like anything is so dominating that the meta is unhealthy. The cards that are banned or restricted in the Legacy and Vintage formats are likely to be the most powerful in this format, too, so keep an eye on those, but probably not for a long time.
Everytime I see "cast without paying its mana cost" I already know something crazy is about to happen. I don't know what the developers had in mind when they created those types of cards. Obviously they were going to be overpower...
ooo! ooo! i think i've discovered an improvement! you need to swap in a copy of "liquimetal coating" to synergize w/ Karn (you use liquimetal coating to turn an opponents land into an artifact and then use karn's +1 ability to destroy their land) i guess swap out a briber's purse if main deck or bonded construct if side board but i think it may be a powerful enough combo to be "worth it."
hey now, if you're going to make actual competitive decks, there's plenty of channel for that 😂 "improvement" on this channel only manes "win turn one more often"!
are you saying expected win rates for this build are not good enough to be considered competitive, and that i shouldn't burn every wildcard i get trying to make the perfect doppleganger of it? but it seems so good!@@TurnOneWin
@@LightninSharples If you're looking to *win* as often as possible with nonsense and the possibility of a rare turn one win, LegenVD had a great Beseech + Song list about a week ago :)
the 0-drops are there primarily to be countered by An Offer You Can't Refuse, so, I prefer to max out on zeroes rather than play Strike it Rich. But, to each his own!
"I hate thoughtseize" yeah, I'm so sorry people playing a multiplayer game want to have interactions with the opponent, God forbid you have to react to what your opponent does lol
its a "turn two point five win," (which is not up to your standards) two cards + 58 land (fiveish copies of a nonbasic land that allows you to sac a creature) winrates at roughly 50% on arena should be better...not great. haha thanks for replying!@@TurnOneWin
What this means is that there are an amount of different hands that win on turn 1. This amount is approx. a 6% of the total different hands. In practice things can go different due to variance. See that in this video there are more than a 6% t1 wins. Also, consider that in the draw the enemy could interact with some cards and u can also lose on t1. I really believe that trying to see for a combination of cards that maximizes t1 kills is a good strategy in this format bc there is not 0 mana interaction
@@ivanlazaro7444 I tried taking out the Offer You Can't Refuse and blue mana and adding in things that gave the deck more resiliency and more turn two wins ... the deck definitely got worse!

Scary! TH-cam knows me better than I know myself, sometimes...

Amazing channel and that last match was insane... I'm glad algorithm gave me this masterpiece, follow!
Glad I could help improve the win rate! Love the channel (both your youtube and the card :)

Great glimpse at the breakdown at the end. It's very neat to see that
Thanks! My videos where I ramble on for minutes at a time about probabilities tend to not be my most-watched so I try to keep that to a minimum 😂

@@mrpeanutmaid1861 it's hovered pretty close to 50%. Not competitive!
really sick build.

it seems like you should be able to play the common card 'fog' in timeless format, i wonder if they'll ever give us that one.@@TurnOneWin

probably😅

I can't quite figure out how to make that happen turn 1 ... at least, not with a reasonable winrate!

Song of creation is my favorite card of all time
Is that an ai voice? No hate, I just can’t tell
Nope, I'm the real McCoy!
I'm no mathematician, but wouldn't that mean only one t1 win in a mtgo league where every game went to game 3? That doesn't sound that impressive :/
