@@TheSecondR playing games is something one does WITH others. Doing one turn allone without letting the other player particpating, just stealing their lifetime and narcistically aiming for doubtfull recognition, isn´t what MOST mtg players do, no.

In Vintage (and MTGO in general), it's easy to look up players to find out what kind of decks they usually play. That's just part of the territory.

I mean, had opponent activated it, it would have stopped the turn one win about which I was monologuing!

I am very glad when there are only restrictions and no bans in a format, but, we need some turn 0 counterspells to be sure!

Especially given that you can activate it using mana from Channel! I fully expect to find a use for it some time soon. Urn of Godfire is a card that I'm constantly thinking of using to make some ridiculous combo work, and Mascot has the bonus of being every creature type!

Timeless is not the most balanced format. Vintage is the best blend of ridiculous power and sufficient answers!

wdym, you don't like coin flip games where you most likely win if you disrupt the opponent's combo and instantly lose if you can't?

​@@johndoe9343 In Vintage, 70% of decks run four copies of Force of Will. The high likelihood of not being able to get away with nonsense ensures that most games are games!

@@TurnOneWin For real, I've heard people's complaints about no Force of Will on Arena in the past. Not sure if it's different now. Haven't been keeping up with all MTGA news.

Land, An Offer You Can't Refuse, and 0-mana non-creature spell, Channel, and a wincon (here: Realmbreaker or Karn which grabs a Realmbreaker from the sideboard--you can also build the deck around Goblin Charbelcher if you like). There's also a six card combination using Beseech the Mirror to play Channel, or, if you don't have the win in hand, Song of Creation. See some of my older videos for examples :)

Although OP could have had a 4/4, in addition to Elesh Norn which gives creatures -2/-2 (which killed the Ornithopter), Sheoldred causes each opponent to sacrifice a creature, so the 2/2 token would have been sacrificed had it been created. That's precisely why I play that Sheoldred over another Praetor :)

@@TurnOneWin Sheoldred specifies non-token so the 4/4 would avoid being sacrificed. Still a bad spot to be in though!

This was only my 2nd match. The deck has about a 6% winrate, so I would have expected to play ~17 games to get this video, but RNG saved me a few minutes :) Look at my older videos if you want combinations that took hundreds or even upwards of a thousand attempts!!

Alas! WotC decided to change the Arena-only card "Fragment Reality" to no longer function on your own permanents, so this is no longer possible :(

Completely agree-I've left Arena for Magic Online (Vintage), it's great here

Lately I've been playing Vintage on Magic Online: Force of Will has reigned in my worst tendencies 😆

@@TurnOneWin You still need to pay for an mtgo account though right? I definitely want to be proven wrong as I'd like to play but don't want to spend on cards not in paper.

@@grantwilliams9512 I had created an account back in ~2007 and played for one day, didn't reinstall until recently. I missed out on the 'new player' package that comes with several decks, but I also didn't pay anything. I'm still figuring out the economy, and perhaps the unusual circumstance of having an old account makes my experience different than that of most new players

Hello, I'm new here. Can you please explain what the power of the map was: fragment reality? Was there some combination with banishing your creatures? I don't really understand how adding "opponent" made this card weak.

@@ideiran2818 The meta Historic deck abusing the card was Leyline Geist. With any 4 mana leyline on the field, Fragment was able to always get Geist of Saint Traft Turn 1. Because of its success, a lot of people started playing Innocent Blood. But even then, it's not perfect. Slip out the Back was a staple of the deck. Basically, this strategy was decent with very little counterplay compared to other quick kill strategies like Minion Combo and Hammer Time. Hexproof is good, who would've thought? Not to mention Slip Out The Back, Spell Pierce, and Fragment Reality could also be used to disrupt those decks. The same can't be said the other way around.
