Remember, Vader cannot touch Sidious when he becomes one with the Dark Side of the Force. Also, Sidious is a liar because treachery IS indeed the way of the Sith. Sidious constantly tests Vader and puts him down. In the book the Rise of Vader Sidious promises to teach him ALL the ways of the Force but lies. He does not teach Vader how to fully become one with the Dark Side as Vader would instantly kill him. Sidious is very treacherous. He killed his Master. . . the great, but very careless Darth Plagueis. Sidious is very smart as he doesn't teach Vader anything that Vader can use against him.
