I thought its crazy too!! If he's right about it then his way of thinking must have been in line with BigHit... I cant wait until Josh done digesting!!
Rap Monster is drinking Absinthe and that is probably what the statue and Jimin are crying at the end. So basically it's a Art Reference. Traditionally has a natural green colour but may also be colourless. It rose to great popularity as an alcoholic drink in late 19th- and early 20th-century France, particularly among Parisian artists and writers. Owing in part to its association with bohemian culture, the consumption of absinthe was opposed by social conservatives and prohibitionists. Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, Oscar Wilde, Marcel Proust, Edgar Allan Poe, And others were all known absinthe drinkers. That painting is I believe the Final Battle between Heaven and hell that Jin is looking at and it I think was a painting by Picasso. Just to add BigHit wants us to interpret what the MVs and Short Films may mean. Sad to say there might not Only be 1 answer. I think in great works of art there is never one way of seeing it ,but how each individual sees it. Sure there might be Christian references in there also might be other cultural references from many different cultures and religions. Just like a painting of dots some might see them as sadness other might see them as joy. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That's what makes it meaningful 🙌🏽
the 11 dislikes you have for this video is from ppl who were so shook by the mv and your reaction to it, they were physically unable to click the right one.
By far best reaction I've seen to this MV hahaha. Literally the most accurate interpretation, best hyped up response, and best commentary overall. You're totally right about how the members are all connected to Jin as one personality, and how the MV uses the book Demian to portray that. "truth" vs "dream"
Okay so if you're wondering what the deal is with jin kissing a statue the short version is that Jin represents Sinclair in the book Demian and Tae represents Demian and in the book Sinclair makes a deal with Demian/the devil and they shake hands and kiss. Obviously Jin and Tae can't actually kiss because South Korea doesn't exactly like gay people so Jin kisses the statue which represents Tae
Thank you for the explanation!! I wondered if the statue represents V because of the wings and his smile, but wasn't sure since I've only read 50 pages so far...
Makes sense as to why Tae Tae would just cover Jin's eyes and the scene of the drapes being raised off him to reveal who he truly is. South Korea is still not open about homosexuality acts and what not even though it would have symbolized their theme a bit better if Jin did slightly kiss Tae Tae.....welp that's just what we wish for XD
I would actually love for you to do a video explaining the whole story. (Like from the past videos too) I've been trying to follow the story but so many people have different theories or takes on it, it's gotten me all confused. But what you were saying at the end is what makes the most sense to me. Just not sure how it ties in with the previous stuff.
Honestly, this needs to happen. Josh, or anyone of the BTS ARMY really. It would help, not only current fans but also new ones that got hooked by this song.
Just something that came to my mind: V was always falling from somewhere in the mvs. Then, isn't he a representation of lapse of virtue? In I need U he killed a person, thus committing a crime, that's why in Prologue he jumped off - metaphorically he is now "fallen'. And then we see him almost drowning in RUN, as if he was drowning in his sin, and eventually in this MV we see direct hint about him intentionally falling from the balcony with a smile and becoming a fallen angel, a sinner. Broken wings mean that he had wings, so he WAS an angel, and now he is fallen - no wings, not an innocent smirk at the end and darkness around him. But if it is true, then he turned Jin to his "bad" side?.. Or did he turn all the boys into the temptation, but Jin was the only one resisting, and then V covered his eyes, so that he would not hesitate? I'm mind-blown, sorry. ps: sorry for my english, i'm not a native speaker
also, i rewatched the mv and thought about the balance between good and bad. Like Jungkook on a swing that symbolizes balancing, and V siting on the balcony outside - any wrong move and you fall. V eventually fells, but Jungkook... is floating in the end? That's kind of confusing
There is a Nietzsche quote on the wall towards the end that translates to "you must have chaos within you to bear a dancing star" above the mirror that Jin is in front of. The symbolism and detail is insane in this. And also, if you notice, at the dining table, they are all each eating only an apple, which kind of goes back to the religious tones you mentioned in Spring Day. When the Pieta statue breaks, it's like their innocence is ruined. ugh, so good. Just found your reaction videos and I love them
WOW, you're on point with your interpretation. I'm glad you're there. And your statement on Jin cracking and then he actually started to show those fine lines, genius. Thanks!
Thank you!!!!!! Thank you Josh!!!!!! Thank YOU for getting the point RIGHT from the start. I'm not kidding, your clear vision on this series makes me SO happy! Because thank GOODNESS someone got it right away!!!! Yeah there's all kinds of great details, connections, and references (which I love catching) but all they do is support the main point of each film and your grasp is SOLID.
omg i watched this vid 4 yrs ago and was soo impressed by the analytic skills. I randomly rewatched BST today and just had to try and find this video again!
YAAAAAASSSSS JOSH YOU HAVE THE BEST REACTION!!! YOU'RE LIKE.. THE ONLY KPOP TH-camR THAT IMMEDIATELY UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING!!! JOSH, HERE'S SOME OF THE STUFF THAT I NOTICED: 1. Repeated implications of hiding the truth -> evident through the use of paint (painting a picture to cover up the truth) and blindfolds. 2. Apple: Representation of the Original Sin in many religions such as Christianity, Judaism and Islam. 3. Dinner: Linked to The Last Supper? (which is also one of the most famous paintings in the world, and is mentionned numerous times in Dan Brown's novel 'Angels and Demons.' The first picture Jin was staring at was a picture of a war between Angels and Demons. 4. Demian and Sinclair: Demian kisses Sinclair, thus, Jin=Demian, Tae=Sinclair 5. Jungkook and Jimin constantly seen hanging halfway on a swing, perhaps to represent purgatory? Midway between heaven and hell? In a lot of the scenes, both the ceiling and floor are glass. In the I Need U MV, we concluded that Jungkook (stood infront of a car), Jimin (drowned himself in bathtub), J-Hope (overdose) and Suga (fire) committed suicide. We don't know what happened to Rapmon, Jin and Tae. Tae kills his father though, and in the Prologue, he's shown to commit suicide by jumping off the tall, ledge thingy. Jin burns five petals, perhaps representing the members that died. From Prologue to Run, Jin is always holding a camera. However, his pictures seem to capture a different scene from what is happening in reality which in someway is like the paintings in Blood, Sweat and Tears. Rapmon is not truly shown to die ever. In INU, Tae lays down on his arm. In Prologue, after killing his father, the first person Tae calls is Rapmon. In Blood, Sweat and Tears, Rapmon is constantly seen in the basement, and we see Tae jump off the parapet. From this, I conclude that Rapmon is actually representing Satan and Tae went straight to hell after committing suicide after killing his father. Also, Rapmon is the narrator. Narrator is in control of the story. 6. Decay= represented by the constant use of lollipops, from BTS' War of Hormone MV to Blood, Sweat and Tears MV. Decay is also symbolised through the decay of artwork. Perhaps this is to show the decadence of human nature. Tae killed his father-- but for a good reason (to save his mother) but killing is a sin so despite his good intentions, he went to hell. The other members killed themselves because they were in pain, but suicide is a sin, so they went to hell. All these people started out good but judgement turned them evil and now, they are trying to lure Jin to the dark side as well; which can be clearly depicted in the Prologue when Tae climbed up and the "dead" members encouraged him to jump. Tae is also shown to be a fallen angel. When Tae pops out of the water in 'Run,' he is in darkness. Darkness commonly used to represent hell. 7. Fire: Common symbol of purgatory & hell. Burning of the past (burning of photos): Burning of the purity they once had. 8. Save Me: 'Save me before I fall,' Tae is a fallen angel. perhaps: Save me before I descend into the depths of hell and purgatory. 9. Young Forever: When you die young, you stay young forever, no? 10. Run: Run before you are swallowed by the darkness that's out to consume you; the evil decadence that comes with age. As a person ages, he grows wiser, which can be linked back to the apple which is known to habe been plucked from the tree of knowledge.
Actually jin is Sinclair because he kisses Demian. because v is seen with ripped wings. Therefore v is demian and the statue represents demian(who is v) they can’t actually show v and Jin kissing.
Everyone was very happy with this but Jin only has 1 line and it's shared with jimin and that has annoyed some fans, (me included because I love Jin he's my bias) I was hoping they would give him more lines this comeback but it just became less :(. JHOPE DID GET LOTS OF LINES THOUGH
tbh id didn't hear him sing in the song and in the bridge i heard kookie and jiminie singing and no jin but don't worry everything will come clear in the live performances
Anne Veen I understand where you're coming from but the music videos is only one thing. The song will be promoted and sung live and he won't be able to sing anything unless they give him someone else's lines like they also did with run. And thinking about how it might've felt hearing the full song for the first time and not hearing your own voice. It would've made me so incredibly sad thinking all my hard work wouldn't even be heard.
Umm, this boy band usually sings about boys' youth and hurt in their life. And this brand new song is telling about the youths who face to the evil, temptation and conflict, and the process of growth. The picture Jin was staring at in the first scene is 'The Fall of the Rabel Angels' by Pieter Bruegel. And another picture which was used in the background of the Tae Hyeong's scene of falling down from the terrace, is about falling Icarus. He symbolizes a rabel angel with scars from the trace of wings, and then leads Jin to the evil. So Jin finally kissed the angel statue with black wings. In the last scene, his face started to be cracked which means, the evil energy spread out. I heard that motives from the Hermann Hesse's novel, 'Demian' were at the many materials of this video, with the relation to the 'growth'.
Oh God, when you said that is sounds like romanian music I started to laugh, but just because you were right. I am romanian and when I first heard the song I was shocked because this is so much like our music (which I usually don't like), but BTS managed to make it sound awesome :D Anyway, nice reaction!
I LITERALLY COULDNT STOP LAUGHING AT YOUR REACTION WHEN JIN KISSED THAT STATUE BC I WAS EXACTLY THE SAME I HAD TO PAUSE AND TAKE A COUPLE MINUTES AWAY FROM MY PHONE
his reaction is just ON POINT! I mean look at him go when he saw that it was tae with the scar and then he ran and that was cute af and then he was like shhh-ing himsel 😂 and what he was basically spitting towards the end is just amazing bcos he can interpret it so fast and so well tooo
some masterpieces in this video 1:17 [Lament(Mourning) for Icarus] - Herbert James Draper 3:26 [Landscape with the Fall of Icarus] - Bruegel, Pieter the Elder 0:35 [the Fall of the Rebel Angel] - Bruegel, Pieter the Elder this album 'Wings' is based on 'Demian' in general. but this song 'Blood Sweat and Tears' is based on Icarus from Greek myth in accurate detail. V is a cousin of Icarus(Jungkook) and RapMon is Icarus' father, Daedalus. in that myth. Daedalus(RapMon) killed V because of a jealousy about his talent. so V became a devil and was trying to seduce the rest of members with Sugar for revenge. 'an angel who loses his wings becomes a devil.' V's injury of his back means that he loses his wings. Jin is the only one that isn't easily tempted to devil(V). but finally Jin also became a devil since he kissed the statue that had V's wings. they said a pipe organ was a devil's symbol in the Middle Ages. when Jin heard Sugar playing the pipe organ he couldn't get out of that museum. cause devil's music seduced his ears. V closed and opened Jin's eyes. this scene means V showed Jin a devil world. so Jin walked to the statue out of awareness. and then, as you see... in the last scene you can see Jin's face cracked. it means Jin steps to the badness area from the goodness area.
Rap Monster mentioned the album. “The harder a temptation is to resist, the more you think about it and vacillate. That uncertainty is part of the process of growing. [Blood Sweat & Tears] is a song that shows how one thinks, chooses, and grows.” The wings pictured in the music video are one of the symbols of growth. Suga added, “The song relays an optimistic determination to use our wings to go far, even if we are met with temptations in life.”
have i said it? your reaction is soooo satisfying to watch. Josh, you are a nerd for being able to understand the story while others fail and get confused in theorizing. i love you for that!
"Jin got a solo song" "Jin is just a sub vocal, what did you expect?" "He got so much screentime, what are you complaining about?" "Go and hear Awake and stop being salty" "This is probably because he's dead" WTF If I wasn't mad, I am now. First of all, yeah, Jin got a solo song, so did all the other members. Jin is an awesome singer and not "just a sub vocal". Screentime? REALLY? Who cares about screentime if he doesn't sing? They are a music group FOR GOD'S SAKE! SO many insensitive armys I jus can't. What I'm most annoyed at is that if it was Jimin Jk or even Tae the world would be in flames rn, and I would dare anyone to tell them "GO and listen to Lie/Begin/Stigma, SMH THEORIES ARE NEVER GOING TO BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN A PROPER LINE DISTRIBUTION. This is not like Run, not like Dope. Why? Run: he got lines; the only change they did for live performances was the order. Dope: YES, they had to give jin jimin's line (from the album version) to their live performances; but at least in the alb ver. jin got to sing one line by himself, a repeated one; but well. BTS is a well_known group and this is their 2nd Full Alb. In conclution, this shouldn't have happened. I'm a Seokjin stan, but more than that, I'm a BTS stan and I would be mad TOO if this had happened to any of the other members. So I can't understand why some armys didn't even noticed Jin had almost no lines until they read it.
Well maybe in the other MV (if they have one. I hope they do), he will have more lines? I hope he does. but did people really tell you that? Hell get his shine, don't worry. Hobi did so why not him? Also in fire, Tae only got one line and people didn't get as mad. He doesn't get many lines either. But I supposed that was because in fire, he repeated the same line multiple times. Anyway, Don't worry!
im sure he will have more lines in live ver.. we can never know why Jin only had few lines in this title song.. 2nd full album, being a well-known group have nothing to do with line distribution tbh.. there's a lot of group who have their 3rd 4th etc full album and is well known group but still have that one member that had small lines.. all im saying is this happens to ALL group even 4 member group have problem with lines distribution.. its not that i don't care about Jin .. I DO trust me! i just dont want this to be big and instead of ARMY's focusing on the MV or the song they focus on how Jin have little line..
What I meant with that is that it was understandable before, but not now; I thought after Fire they would start giving him more lines, now all we've got is half a line when you can barely hear him... & even if they change it for their live performances that won't change the fact that we won't be able to listen to his voice in the album. Please don't think I somehow want to focus on this. I'm really annoyed at how I feel, because all I want is to enjoy their comeback, but I just can't ignore it, and I needed to speak my mind...
i know how u feel cause i've been there when JM barely had any lines too.. and tbh i might be the worse army cause i started to hate JK (cause he had most of the lines) just because i couldnt hear JM.. but then i just focus on their live perf. and other songs where JM had more lines.. but just like u, i cant ignore the fact that whenever i listen to the song i cant hear JM and the hate to JK just got bigger and bigger and i hate that feeling cause they are a one team but im ending up to hating one member so i just watch a bunch of their live perf and try to accept the fact.. i dont know if this will sound mean or bad but based on experience you'll get used to it as they have more and more performance in this song.. and i tell you, even now the first thing i do whenever BTS release a new song is to hear how many lines JM have.. i get sad if he dont have lots but like i said i get pass it.. and to be honest my fav. track is LIE (surprised! 😂)
I do the same *sobs* That's why I got salty immmediatly after hearing the song. I was listening to all of them but towards 3:00 I started to get worried bc I hadn't listen to Jin's voice not even once. I get what you are saying though, but I'm so disappointed... I've never hated on Jk, I mean it's not his fault, but I can relate to how you feel ♥ I think I'll just have to wait to tomorrow's live performance..
Dude I AM AMAZED BY HOW YOU JUST FIGURED ALL THAT OUT DAYUMMMN GO JOSH I LOVED HOW U LOVED IT AND HOW U REACTED TO IT KEEP IT UP MAN IT PROVES YOU ACTUALLY GIVE THE TIME TO THINK AND WATCH THEIR STUFF MORE THAN ONCE....CHEERS!!!! WE NEED MORE LIKE U
How can you figure out the meaning of the mv in one play? I'm impressed with your theories! You should be a Bangtan detective as your second job. Teach me senpai!
Bless you for your deep interpretation and understanding of these intricate K-Pop MVs. You're like the first reactor who got it at first watch while everyone else were hella confused. Lol!
I really love your reaction, especially when you said *"This is the best ending ever"*. Also at the end you start to calculate all the theory from the start till now and I just nod my head many times. Fron many reaction of this MV I have watched, you're the first people who bring back all the theory. I like it!
I love how seriously you treat it (without any "what in the world was that, huh? hehe"), and how much you appreciate the artistic value of it. 'Cause there's so much to look at, to talk about, etc. And the way you have been breaking everything down is awesome.
Hahah your "no you did not!" and running around is legit me after I first watched the mv. haha i've been waiting for this reaction and did not disappoint!
My favorite reaction ever! Excellent review and observations and yes please do a full album listen and a more extensive review on the videos and series and your theories..we want more!:)
So when Jin is walking toward the mirror near the end, I looked up what was written above it. It's in German, and not being a German speaker, spent some time trying to translate it. I think *please correct me if I'm wrong someone*, it says: "One must still have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star."
It's basically what the book is saying as well: you can't be yourself and reach your goals and stuff by just doing what everyone wants you to, or in Demian terms "just staying on the good, innocent side". The quote is by Nietzsche, who is big on the individual vs Allgemeinheit thing (can't Google the translation right now). Demian expresses to Emil, that an individual should set their own rules (morals, ethics, etc.) instead of being a sheep and following what they're being told by everyone else. That's why people should criticize and ask questions.
WHEN U GOT UP AND LEFT SAYING "NO U DID NOT" WHEN TAE SMIRKED LOLOLOL Your reaction was priceless, I love how you don't just do a reaction but actually try to piece the story together. Ill be looking forward to your theory or connection of the symbolisms, i really want to understand why Taehyung was portrayed as the evil , or thats what i thought
I swear you are the only youtuber who makes any kind of sense with these BTS videos and I always wait for your reactions. You make such educated analysis. Love your channel
WE LITERALLY HAVE THE SAME REACTION WHEN JIN KISSED THE STATUE AND WHEN TAE SHOWED WITH WINGS CUT 😂 I HAD TO PAUSE THE VID FOR A SEC TO GATHER MYSELF HAHAHA
THANK YOU!!! This comeback was seriously amazing and I always love the theories that you make because they really bring to light some of the things I get confused about. And your reaction to Jin kissing the statue and Tae was PRICELESS.
You are actually my favourite reactor. I still cant get over at how you ran away but quickly ran back twice remembering you still needed to watch the video. You also have great theories and are just on top of things. Like!
you are my favorite reactor so far!,, like you understand the book, and you predict the cracking face of Jin.. wow.. 👏👏.. im waiting for your first listen of album with akbar 😊😊😙
Best reaction Josh! I love it so much; your smart talk, the way you connect the mv with the book, and the end when you talk about the evil inside Jin. I truly love it, it is just so intelligent. I am glad you loved the MV too, thank you!
but i agree lol. i think a lot of us were disappointed that pathcode felt completely different from their album and concept. it was such an exciting buildup but it didn't follow through.
titin buawel ae pathcode isnt bts, its exo. basically the pathcode teaser were about 1 minute exerpts of Exo displaying amazing use of their superpowers (their concept are powers and that they're aliens from a exo planet) and it was leading up to a music video. The fans were hype for a music video that had powers and a storyline in it but instead we had hot asian boys dancing in a garage. I still love Call Me Baby but it was disappointing.
I came back to watch this, you were on point. Still it's on going, just love everything about BTS. They focus on struggles that we all go through, because they go thru the same struggles. Number one fan here.
Check out the black/white contrast everywhere. Sculptures and museum door frames. When Jin is looking at the painting and we see Jim's full face - his right side is in light, his left side is in shadow.
i have NO IDEA what is going on in this video. i freaking love it but i didnt understand it. i thought if anything it was loosely connected to the past videos. but watching you call out the scenes before it happens shocked the hell out of me. now im about to go read this book. JOSH what does it mean that v wings had been cut off? does that make him a fallen angel? does this symbolize that v is the darkness in jin? what did it mean for jin to kiss that statue? was it the same as kissing v and why did jin crack? lol i understand i have alot of questions but i didnt realize all this REALLY meant something. man i love this song, i love this video, and i freaking love BTS!
I watched the MV and then came here to binge the short film reactions and this, so that I could understand the story XD You're reactions and explanations fit perfectly!
This mv had me screaming this morning. First listen, I am in love with Awake and 21st Century Girls. The Outro/1 2 3 is a solid jam! And of course J-Hope is still slaying in Intro/Boy Meets Evil. Loved your reaction to Taehyung's smirk, he left JRE speechless.
YOUR ENTHUSIASM IS ADDICTING. Yes, please film a more detailed explanation of the series please. Looking forward to more of you (and Akbar) fanboying over BTS.
josh i have watched this video like a 100 times. your reaction cracked me up. lol. i am waiting for that video of you explaining everything. are you really going to make one?
i wasn't thinking and accidentally brought it up but tried stopping myself! I LOVE EXO!! But I wasn't a fan of how the pathcodes ended...still LOVE EXO!!!!
+Aga Z +Josh Binder, Same as me too. Totally a waste of developmental idea there. Pathcodes was supposed to be a mindfuck experience but...Call Me Baby happened. I'm a fan of Exo too... But just...damn.
idk how i've never seen any of your reactions to past bts videos before but i'm subscribing! and i like how you explained everything about this series cos i didnt understand anything when their short films came out. loved your reaction too btw! :)
somebody needs to do a compilation video of youtuber's reacting to bts new video because you guys have been great. josh you and afro minx deserve an award lol.
I love your reactions because you point out things I don't see and you make connections so easily. Btw When Jin was touching the sculpture...I had the same words in my mind that you said about embracing the evil.
it's crazy how you actually predicted the cracking of jin's face
and yes please do another version more in depth! also the album is already out !
IKR
I thought its crazy too!! If he's right about it then his way of thinking must have been in line with BigHit... I cant wait until Josh done digesting!!
Heidi Japan he probably read the book Demian
I flipped the table cause I never saw it coming lol
I love how you were interpreting this as you watched.
I agree it makes sense when Josh tells it!
Ridgy720 I'm waiting for your reaction btw 😂 lol
+Ridgy720 omg ridgy I'm waiting for your reaction :-) can't wait !!!
yes omg he's so smart I'm so impressed!
agree! :D
I'm really amazed with your eye for detail. I'm mindblown actually. I don't think there's any other reactioner as smart as you
SO TRUE!!
so envy
thiiiis! so smart and fast
agree!~ Josh KNEW Jin's face would crack once he saw EVA cracking or even before that
I like the theory that V is demian and Jin is sinclair
Mehik Sidhu this makes a lot of sense
YO GUYS!!!
I'm about to film a 'First-Listen' with *AKB4R* to the ENTIRE ALBUM!!!
WILL UPLOAD LATER TODAY!!!
We'll wait for it!!!!
YESH IM WAITING
Thank you !
Josh Binder YAS BOY
YAS!!! You will love it! I have been slain so many times over with it! I have no bias because everyone becomes a bias wrecker!
Just to add
BigHit wants us to interpret what the MVs and Short Films may mean.
Josh: "He's like embracing it"
Me: oh he's really embracing it all right😂
hahah he embraced it hardcore~!
I literally screamed after reading this comment
XD
When you ran away. 😂😂
Caitlin The Fancy I loved his reaction!!!!!
my favorite is when he runs away and then goes "no wait but really.." and it ends XD
leGIT ME
"You can't just listen to this once, it's like eating a Lays chip."
- Josh Binder, 2016
quote of the year
the 11 dislikes you have for this video is from ppl who were so shook by the mv and your reaction to it, they were physically unable to click the right one.
Min Y omg that made me laugh harder than I meant to 😂
Ha oh my goodness yes XD
I think the dislikes are from the bts amino
Or maybe they have Parkinson😂
ARMYS would die if Jin kissed Tae
Just what we needed fluffy music with a side of occultism...
Makes sense as to why Tae Tae would just cover Jin's eyes and the scene of the drapes being raised off him to reveal who he truly is. South Korea is still not open about homosexuality acts and what not even though it would have symbolized their theme a bit better if Jin did slightly kiss Tae Tae.....welp that's just what we wish for XD
and yet the fans forces the boygroups to kiss each other and do other extreme bromance as fanservice....they are so hypocrite..
jimin's sensual voice is seducing us ARMYs.
For fucking real though....Its actually causing me pain
Agust D Tongue Technology! I agree but more importantly I ADORE your name. :)
it's addicting!
oh.thank you.
im jimined.
hahah omg when you ran away after v smirked :') honestly, same...
THIS OMG THIS
YES PLEASE JOSH
YES PLEASE !!! I'M DID UNDERSTAND YOU JOSH BUT IM KINDA CONFUSED 😅😅😅 LOTS OF SUPPORT AND LOVE FROM INDIA ❤☺
yes please!!! I don't get it, please help us.
Honestly, this needs to happen. Josh, or anyone of the BTS ARMY really. It would help, not only current fans but also new ones that got hooked by this song.
ITS SO CRAZY HOW U PREDICTED EVERYTHING SO LEGIT IM
That's kind of confusing
good point!
BRO U PREDICTED JIN CRACKING YOU'RE AMAZING WTF
he could have reacted to it before or read about the mv beforehand *coughs* no hate.
topri is life HA! Sure. He's actually really smart though. He's an engineer and I wasn't that surprised for him to predict that. Still amazing though.
Just found your reaction videos and I love them
" Idk what the smoke means, but its beautiful"
same same same
IM SO GLAD YOU CAUGHT ON TO THE TAEHYUNG AND STATUE CONNECTION
WOW, you're on point with your interpretation. I'm glad you're there. And your statement on Jin cracking and then he actually started to show those fine lines, genius. Thanks!
Thank you!!!!!! Thank you Josh!!!!!! Thank YOU for getting the point RIGHT from the start. I'm not kidding, your clear vision on this series makes me SO happy! Because thank GOODNESS someone got it right away!!!! Yeah there's all kinds of great details, connections, and references (which I love catching) but all they do is support the main point of each film and your grasp is SOLID.
WHEN YOU GOT THE THING ABOUT HIM CRACKING BC HE'S THE SAME AS THE STATUE AND THEN JIN CRACKED AT THE END YOOO I WAS SHOOK U PREDICTED IT
THE WAY YOU RAN AWAY AND RAN BACK WAS ME!!!!!
omg i watched this vid 4 yrs ago and was soo impressed by the analytic skills.
JOSH, HERE'S SOME OF THE STUFF THAT I NOTICED:
1. Repeated implications of hiding the truth ->
evident through the use of paint (painting a picture to cover up the truth) and blindfolds.
4. Demian and Sinclair:
Demian kisses Sinclair, thus, Jin=Demian, Tae=Sinclair
OKAY YOU LITERALLY HAD THE BEST REACTION AND EXPLANATION TO THIS!
I'M SO GLAD I CAME ACROSS THIS VIDEO!
Everyone was very happy with this but Jin only has 1 line and it's shared with jimin and that has annoyed some fans, (me included because I love Jin he's my bias) I was hoping they would give him more lines this comeback but it just became less :(. JHOPE DID GET LOTS OF LINES THOUGH
tbh id didn't hear him sing in the song and in the bridge i heard kookie and jiminie singing and no jin
but don't worry everything will come clear in the live performances
ikr but I guess because he is like the 'main character' in the story bighit just switched lines for more screen time....
Anne Veen
Yeah probably
but the song came out perfect. You can't always have equal lines in a song. and this is just the title track.
I sent this to my friends cause they're having troubles coming up with theories
and one of them asked if you were "the snapping guy"
Hahah "The snapping guy" xD LOVE IT!!!
He's staring at the painting and theirs a black entrance on the left and a white entrance on the right. Hell and heaven.
I am romanian and when I first heard the song I was shocked because this is so much like our music (which I usually don't like), but BTS managed to make it sound awesome :D
Anyway, nice reaction!
omg...that was in my mind at that moment, but still BTS is way better(my opinion)
Well of course. BTS managing to make romanian music sounds actually good, haha :D
hi....i am from Romania to...salut!
Hey hey, turn up! I'm Romanian too.. I guess it does have that sort of sound.
I'm from Bulgaria and I also thought that it sounded lil bit like surbian and romanian...
You're literally the only one who understood what exactly is happening. Thank you
LITTERALLY THE BEST REACTION EVER
I LITERALLY COULDNT STOP LAUGHING AT YOUR REACTION WHEN JIN KISSED THAT STATUE BC I WAS EXACTLY THE SAME I HAD TO PAUSE AND TAKE A COUPLE MINUTES AWAY FROM MY PHONE
his reaction is just ON POINT! I mean look at him go when he saw that it was tae with the scar and then he ran and that was cute af and then he was like shhh-ing himsel 😂 and what he was basically spitting towards the end is just amazing bcos he can interpret it so fast and so well tooo
oh yeah and yes pls do a detailed video 😄😄😄
You're the only person who saw this and wasn't confused :D. Loving your videos so much :)).
some masterpieces in this video
1:17 [Lament(Mourning) for Icarus] - Herbert James Draper
3:26 [Landscape with the Fall of Icarus] - Bruegel, Pieter the Elder
0:35 [the Fall of the Rebel Angel] - Bruegel, Pieter the Elder
this album 'Wings' is based on 'Demian' in general. but this song 'Blood Sweat and Tears' is based on Icarus from Greek myth in accurate detail.
V closed and opened Jin's eyes. this scene means V showed Jin a devil world. so Jin walked to the statue out of awareness. and then, as you see...
in the last scene you can see Jin's face cracked. it means Jin steps to the badness area from the goodness area.
he's gonna start he's gonna start... I swear josh if u
1:12
called it
Hahah! You totally called it! I CAN'T STOP MYSELF!!
I DON'T MAKE THE RULES!!!
I'm so exited for your first listen 😂
Rap Monster mentioned the album. “The harder a temptation is to resist, the more you think about it and vacillate. That uncertainty is part of the process of growing. [Blood Sweat & Tears] is a song that shows how one thinks, chooses, and grows.” The wings pictured in the music video are one of the symbols of growth. Suga added, “The song relays an optimistic determination to use our wings to go far, even if we are met with temptations in life.”
have i said it? your reaction is soooo satisfying to watch.
Josh, you are a nerd for being able to understand the story while others fail and get confused in theorizing.
i love you for that!
the piano music in suga's part reminds me of the intro of Ga in's "paradise lost"
YOOO! I Completely agree!!!
check this out josh and tell me what do u think about it 😱
youtu.be
"Jin got a solo song" "Jin is just a sub vocal, what did you expect?" "He got so much screentime, what are you complaining about?" "Go and hear Awake and stop being salty" "This is probably because he's dead"
WTF If I wasn't mad, I am now.
What I'm most annoyed at is that if it was Jimin Jk or even Tae the world would be in flames rn, and I would dare anyone to tell them "GO and listen to Lie/Begin/Stigma, SMH
THEORIES ARE NEVER GOING TO BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN A PROPER LINE DISTRIBUTION.
I've never hated on Jk, I mean it's not his fault, but I can relate to how you feel ♥
I think I'll just have to wait to tomorrow's live performance..
LMFAO "NO YOU DID NOT! *gets up and leaves*". Same Josh, same. xD
I like it!
Did anyone noticed that instead of a museum, it's more like V's place/house? He's the only one wearing PJs. Something suspicious about him in this mv.
HOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND IT ALL I'M SO BLOWN AWAY RIGHT NOW
"yo it's like he's embracing it..." BOYYYY he more than embraced that statue LOLOL
I love how seriously you treat it (without any "what in the world was that, huh? hehe"), and how much you appreciate the artistic value of it. 'Cause there's so much to look at, to talk about, etc.
And the way you have been breaking everything down is awesome.
joosh!!! lool I'm just amazed how you understood it right away haha you're awesome!
Josh recognizes almost everything omg thank you so much!! P.S: who else is still on the process of processing tge whole vid?? i know i am hahaha
*the
omg the first reaction video without that bts amino thing ! I love you lol !
Hahah your "no you did not!" and running around is legit me after I first watched the mv. haha i've been waiting for this reaction and did not disappoint!
My favorite reaction ever! Excellent review and observations and yes please do a full album listen and a more extensive review on the videos and series and your theories..we want more!:)
everyone was about to be mindblown but you just LEGIT predicted the ending. loving ur reactions!
So when Jin is walking toward the mirror near the end, I looked up what was written above it. It's in German, and not being a German speaker, spent some time trying to translate it. I think *please correct me if I'm wrong someone*, it says: "One must still have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star."
jup, it's right ;)
what does that quote mean? sorry I'm bad at interpreting shit lol
I was quite young though when I read the Herman Hesses and Nietzsches books though :D so I'm a bit rusty on this
haaaa i was dying of laughter when you were getting up and running off XD
WHEN U GOT UP AND LEFT SAYING "NO U DID NOT" WHEN TAE SMIRKED LOLOLOL Your reaction was priceless, I love how you don't just do a reaction but actually try to piece the story together. Ill be looking forward to your theory or connection of the symbolisms, i really want to understand why Taehyung was portrayed as the evil , or thats what i thought
When he ran away... same. I loved this reaction! You made me understand A LOT of the symbolism! Omg
this is why we need a nerd in a fandom. to enlight ignorant stupid fans like me hahahha
he kisses the statue: boy meets evil. He can't get away because it's too sweet
OMGGGGG you are so brilliant, so smart, soooooo clever!!!
You knew that Jin would crack before the ending being realized!
I swear you are the only youtuber who makes any kind of sense with these BTS videos and I always wait for your reactions. You make such educated analysis. Love your channel
1st youtubber who cracked everything..
BRUH, he solved the mv in 8:01 minutes whereas some of us had to watch it over 10 times! TALK ABOUT GENIUS!
this is so funny his reaction when jin kissed the statue I've never related to anyone so much in my life
BY FAR THE BEST REACTION OF THIS IVE SEEN
you're the best kpop youtuber when it comes to theories... I'm shook 😫
this is possibly my favourite reaction to anything ever
I waited for this like as if it had been my fucking religion!
Your reaction is definitely one of my favorites, plus you help me understand this MV a little bit more, thank you!!!!!
5:40 'nO YOU DID NOt'
actual representation of me tbh
I am glad you loved the MV too, thank you!
that pathcode shade tho
but i agree lol. i think a lot of us were disappointed that pathcode felt completely different from their album and concept. it was such an exciting buildup but it didn't follow through.
yeah i discovered exo after the pathcode thingy and i was still disappointed
could you tell me the meaning about the pathcode ??
i'm sorry i'm new to bts
titin buawel ae pathcode isnt bts, its exo. basically the pathcode teaser were about 1 minute exerpts of Exo displaying amazing use of their superpowers (their concept are powers and that they're aliens from a exo planet) and it was leading up to a music video. The fans were hype for a music video that had powers and a storyline in it but instead we had hot asian boys dancing in a garage. I still love Call Me Baby but it was disappointing.
Selin Pinardag Thank you so much for your information,i was wandering myself why call me baby had different concept than other exo mv.
I came back to watch this, you were on point. Still it's on going, just love everything about BTS. They focus on struggles that we all go through, because they go thru the same struggles. Number one fan here.
"that is a fluorescent dinner" I lowkey died at this
Check out the black/white contrast everywhere.
JOSH what does it mean that v wings had been cut off? does that make him a fallen angel? does this symbolize that v is the darkness in jin? what did it mean for jin to kiss that statue? was it the same as kissing v and why did jin crack? lol i understand i have alot of questions but i didnt realize all this REALLY meant something. man i love this song, i love this video, and i freaking love BTS!
man you are so sensitive with details and able to function a logistic process within a very short time !!!!!! I AM REALLY IMPRESSED !!!!!!
Yes please do a video going into depth about the Wings series. Cuz some parts I understand but the rest I'm so lost.
I watched the MV and then came here to binge the short film reactions and this, so that I could understand the story XD You're reactions and explanations fit perfectly!
The struggles of wanting to faint but you have to watch the rest of the MV
This mv had me screaming this morning. First listen, I am in love with Awake and 21st Century Girls. The Outro/1 2 3 is a solid jam! And of course J-Hope is still slaying in Intro/Boy Meets Evil. Loved your reaction to Taehyung's smirk, he left JRE speechless.
at 5:41, the way he ran back . dead
so cute!!
this is like a presentation of the struggle for ARMY!!!
Sooooo real~
I mean I was so hyped already, but watching you just made me hype so much I am... going through the roof. You're great! BTS IS GREAT! THANK YOU
Josh senpai is soo cute when he reacted to this! 😄
YOUR ENTHUSIASM IS ADDICTING. Yes, please film a more detailed explanation of the series please. Looking forward to more of you (and Akbar) fanboying over BTS.
josh i have watched this video like a 100 times. your reaction cracked me up. lol. i am waiting for that video of you explaining everything. are you really going to make one?
yes please do make one!!!!
i keep coming back to this reaction because I'm still so impressed by how smart you are and how you figured out the cracking face part. seriously wow
Wait did you just shade Pathcode?
Haha. I enjoyed this too much.
i wasn't thinking and accidentally brought it up but tried stopping myself! I LOVE EXO!! But I wasn't a fan of how the pathcodes ended...still LOVE EXO!!!!
trust me josh, no one was a fan of how the pathcodes ended haha it was really a waste of great promotional material and the potential for a storyline
+Aga Z +Josh Binder,
Same as me too. Totally a waste of developmental idea there. Pathcodes was supposed to be a mindfuck experience but...Call Me Baby happened.
I'm a fan of Exo too... But just...damn.
Can..someone explain to me what the "pathcode" thing is? please?
Look up the Exo Pathcodes here on YT... There's a pathcode for each member, it was to promote Exo's Call Me Baby comeback
idk how i've never seen any of your reactions to past bts videos before but i'm subscribing! and i like how you explained everything about this series cos i didnt understand anything when their short films came out. loved your reaction too btw! :)
somebody needs to do a compilation video of youtuber's reacting to bts new video because you guys have been great. josh you and afro minx deserve an award lol.
I love your reactions because you point out things I don't see and you make connections so easily. Btw When Jin was touching the sculpture...I had the same words in my mind that you said about embracing the evil.
