The person you should be focusing on is Jin {the one in the white room in I Need U, the one who had the pink camera and recording everything in the prologue, and the one who was building the house of cards in this mv} We believed that he was the only one alive because of the theories that everyone died in I Need U except for him and V {the one who killed the man who we believe to be the father} and in the prologue they were believed to be the ghosts of the ones who died. BUT in Run at the end, they had a picture and Jin wasnt there... it is believed now that Jin died and that is why they are emotional. Suga went into drinking and Taehyung and Namjoon went into a life of vandalism.. Hoseok was in the hospital from overdosing. Its very surreal and we need answers. Jungkook {the one at the end} looks back and smiles because he has accepted Jin's death but he knows that Jin will always be trailing behind them... watching his friends.
+Deanna Jade I think the theory that Jin is the one who passes away makes more sense. He's always in the background and doesn't interact much with the rest. Plus, we can view Dope's MV as the alternative world of I Need U. Jin's a doctor in Dope. Which could mean that Jin passed away due to an illness of some sort. V in the prologue's beginning, he calls on the phone and says "Hyung, I want to see you." the only Hyung in the group is Jin and Jin was the last one to show up at the meeting place with a camcord in hand. Plus the black X that V sprayed on Jin usually means you're out. It makes more sense that only one of them passes away then the other six. Or else they wouldn't have been able to interact as they did if it was that way. Jin plays a crucial role since his scenes are the most puzzling.
+diaryanjo a male calls another male who he is close to and who is older than him, Hyung. for Jungkook, everyone in BTS is a Hyung. for Taehyung, he can call all of them hyung except Jungkook.
guys!!! look at the photo at 7:27 they are all there together but at 7:32 jin isn't in it and the door is open maybe he left or maybe he died and they and jin are both living in different worlds.
To me, only two theories completely clicked. The butterfly effect theory, in which Jin is the into one alive and is hallucinating his friends but in the run MV he does something (bitterly effect) and brings them back to life exchanging his life. So he ends up being the only one dead. The members not being able to accept, kill themselves anyways and this other one, the one I'm gonna post about. I wanna give all credits to +Shirayuki Rei who posted this awesome theory as a reply to a comment of mine. This theory is just amazing."Explanation of everything There isn't a right chronological order for I Need You, Prologue and Run. We can consider all 3 as a whole, all of them being made up of random sequences which intertwine together. Everyone dies aside from Jin yet I don't consider him to be that important, rather it is V that drew my attention. In I Need You, all of them, aside from Jin and V, die in some way. The interesting fact is that everyone dies except for V who kills someone. That's why the prologue begins with V, his hands stained with blood, calling his hyung, saying he wants to see him. Meeting up with his friends, we see all of them having fun, except for V who seems thoughtful and spaced out. He has regrets for the murder he'd committed, that's why he ends up throwing himself off that platform in the sea. The Run MV begins with V falling into water, then throughout the video we have glimpses of him under the water looking frightened. This could represent his second thoughts as he is on the brink of death. He doubts his decision, thinking about how life for his friends would go on without him, but it's too late now. At the end of the video, V coming out of the water is symbolic and makes reference to the fact that a right choice at a time can prevent a series of tragedies. After V's death the members are devastated and a chain of suicides is triggered. For each member, before they commit suicide we see them remembering a happy time of all of them together and a separate memory with one particular member. Aside from this, we see projections of Jin's imagination.V & Rap Mon V's death is influential to RapMon, he has memories of himself and V doing Graffiti and being caught by the cops. Rapmon thinks he had been a bad influence on V and feels somehow guilty for his death that's why he sets himself on fire at the petrol station (in I Need You, with that cigarette).Jungkook & Suga Suga is affected by the other members' death and starts drinking. Jungkook doesn't like this and a fight between the two takes place. Jungkook, being very sad because of this, decides to clean his mind and so goes for a walk. Having a lot of thoughts on his mind and not paying attention when crossing the road, he ends up being hit by a car ( He's the only one who didn't die on purpose!). Suga is visibly devastated by Jungkook's death and feels guilty because of their fight before so he decides to set himself on fire (in that room with the lighter and the gasoline)JHope & Jimin JHope has narcolepsy. He is hospitalized. With Jimin's often visits, JHope is constantly reminded of their fun times together and suffers even more thinking about the cruel reality he has to face. At first glance he looks like he's getting better, but in reality he's not. After he is released from the hospital, he takes a medicine overdose and collapses on the street. Jimin finds out the news and when he opens the bathroom's door he remembers what a good time they had there when they were all together. That's why he decides to drown himself in the same bathtub where he had previously had such fun with the others. JinAfter all his friends are dead, Jin has hallucinations and tries to live the happy moments with the other members all over again, imagining that they are still alive. Sometimes, however, he has moments of realization when he notices nothing's real and he's just fooling himself. Eg.: 1.In the prologue, the scene from the petrol station when he has a photo taken with Suga, he later discovers that he's the only one who appears in the photo, suggesting that he's the only one alive. In fact, many of the scenes from the Prologue are just Jin's attempts to relive certain events that actually took place in the past. (For eg. the scene where they all sit round the fire, or when they are on the beach) 2.In the tunnel he imagines that the boys are vandalizing, but no one does anything about the boys, everyone honks at him, so he is the only one present there.Others Many times in Jin's hallucinations Jungkook (the only one that didn't intend to die) looks at him in a comforting way and at the end of the video, he winks at him, somehow telling him that it's ok to move forward. The scene with the cards is also symbolic. V is the one who destroys the balance represented by the cards structure which Jin so eagerly tries to rebuild. And, obviously, the black butterfly on that card represents death.Possibly a plot hole - the scene at the end of Run where Jimin burns the photo in which Jin doesn't appear is separated from the other events in all 3 videos and is probably just a clue for us to understand that with Jimin's death, they will all have passed away, all but Jin. In the end, Jin manages to get over all this and we can see this by the flower which grows on his chest (this symbolizes the fact that he will always bear them in his heart) and the petals he lays on the floor meaning that however difficult it is, he will move on."
I think most of you said was right... But in the end of "I need you" you will see all of them not dying , 1.J hope opening his eyes after falling down 2.jimin failing to drown himself.. So he just sits crying near/ in the bathtub 2. Rapmon dropping his cigarette and not smoking in a gas station( which is symbolized by the lollipop) 3. I cant remember the rest "not dying " moments but they're there .. You just gotta keep looking 4.the only one who died is Jin because of all the things that you said..and because that flower kind off represents death in korea, i guess there is a saying in korea that means if you sleep with it you will dye or somthing So from this i guess that the actual sequence of the MVs are Run , prologue and then i need you ( with some small cuts back and forth in time ) Run is where jun dies (probably in a normal way.IDK) and the rest start getting a little bit messed up Prologue is when jin "the ghost or sprit or whate" is watching his friends missing him.
...missing him and , becoming more messed up , and trying to survive together I need you is when they start to get really messed up ( drugs , suicide , killing someone ) but they eventually a little by little wil learn to move on (which is shown in run's last seen) And then i could be wrong 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
And in prologue ... Jin was always watching with a camera .... Whether it's to see his friends or to remember what happened back in the days when he was alive, or to discover ,understand and then cope with the fact that he actually died ( this is shown in the pic taken in the gas station )
I honestly think this theory makes the most sense. Also I don't think the others did "not die" like Jimin is crying near the bathtub as the water is still running, he IS going to drown himself (after that he's sinking in the water, hello?) So Mona, I don't think you're quite right on your exceptions. P.S. I just want to vent as I'm watching the vid real quiq--note I don't mean any real hate, just some irrtation that is not the guys's fault--but JESUS when he kept talking about "emotions" I was like STOP NO THEY ARE REAL PEOPLE JNFJSNGJBGLSLSB L PLEASE SHUSH ABOUT THAT
did you guys notice.. in the polaroid jimin burnt, jin is missing. whereas in the picture shown just a second before they are all there. so this says everything i guess. jin is the one who died actually
Giovanna lopez beao yeah that's another theory which is possible and i stood with that theory before. but V coming out of the water at the end of the MV, kookie looking back with a smile which kind of looked like saying "we are fine now, we are getting through it". Jimin being the one burning the picture at the very end .. i guess all these pointed the story to a differrent direction. I don;t know anything anymore. BigHit better explain to us. LOL. BTS has been putting our emotions at a turmoil this year. haha
+Chet BTS ARMY I think jin is the one who took the photo. Jimin burning it signifies that their relationship will never gonna be like before. idk really
Here's to clarify your confusions Josh! The one who killed the man is V (in I Need U), he's the one who wipes the blood off himself at the beginning of the prologue. Then he crumbles up the picture of the guy he kills. We assume that is his father he killed who was abusing his mother. He later drowns again in Run but then stands up to get out, plus he's the one with the spray paint. So connect all the dots there. The one who was with the camera is Jin, he's the one who at the end of the prologue pulls out that polarized picture from the glove box and only sees himself in the picture when we clearly have seen it being taken with another person in the background. He's the only one with the camera in hand and just seemed to be in the background. Plus, he's the one missing from the ending photo when there was suppose to be 7 of them but there was only 6 in the picture before Jimin burns it in the bathtub. The one in the bathtub is Jimin, I think he tried to drown himself in the bathroom or have something to do with bathrooms cuz he's always related to it somehow someway some form. He's the one that gets pulled into the bathroom by Jin. You will have to pause this scene to see it. When Jimin (the orange hair guy) opens the bathroom door, he sees everyone. Jin gets up and pulls him in, before the door fully opens. There are three words written on the door. Inhale, Exhale, Breath. and something is crossed off on top of these three words. Telling him to live. Rap Monster was the one who opened the door to those storage and found that black butterfly ace card. Which if you search, signifies death. Suga was the one with mint color hair that threw the chair at the mirror in denial and anger, plus maybe sadness. Jung Kook was the one who hugged him and tried to comfort him. Jung Kook also was the one who turned around to look into the car. J-Hope was the one hospitalized for most likely overdosing. I think these are the after effects of what happened in I Need U. The struggling to move on but all they're doing is running in place. And then finally coming to terms that they can no longer go back to those fun days all together.
Kaleena P. Actually, it's a man. Middle aged and elder men in Korea usually have that hairstyle. The squarish jaw is also an indication of a man, not woman (especially amongst Koreans). :) It's a man and a child
From the beginning it was apparent that something was going on with Jin, one of the oldest in the group. In the story belonging to this album, he is seen as different, as an outcast. For a lot of the promo pictures to this album, BTS members are seen laughing and playing games while Jin is standing with a jar of pills in his hands. In group pictures Jin is on the side or in the back with a serious expression. There are several point of views and hypotheses on the story and meaning of these songs and videos. Some say Jin mourning, trying to cope with the death of all his friends. Other say that Jin is the one who died, while the others try to cope. No one is completely sure and BTS themselves have said very little. However, I present to you the most logical explanation I have come up with. I originally thought that they were all dead but Jin who was alive. Now I think differently. As mentioned above Jin is showed on a poster with pills in his hands. This shows he is sick and not healthy like the others. This is the idea I will use as I continue this investigation. Firstly, lets talk about the time line of the videos and where they take place. “I Need U” is from the boys perspective on Jin's decline, I think the prologue is happening in Jin's head as he is dying, but also has some moments of reality, and “Run” is after his death. Lets now take a look at “I Need U.” I believe this is the boys copping with Jin. Jin is dressed in white, in a white room, starring through the window. He sets white lilies on the floor than eventually catch fire. Around the world but especially in Korea, lilies represent innocents but also death and are often seen at funerals. It is said that when this flower catches fire it releases a suffocating scent. Suga thinks about suicide. We see him in a room, closed off from the rest of the world. He has a lighter in his hand that he flicks on and off. This lighter represents the alternation of his anger and sadness. Suga even goes as far as lighting his room on fire. J-Hope is depressed and thinks about suicide. We see him starring at himself in the mirror. His face is colorless, he opens a cabinet and pulls out some pills and swallows them. Later we see him collapse on a bridge do to the overdose. Jimin is depressed and thinking about suicide. He sits in his bathtub. We see him burning a piece of paper. Soon the water is over flowing and he cries as he tries to drown himself. Jungkook is lost. We see him wander down the streets, accidently run into people because his mind is somewhere else. He gets into a fight with two people in the ally. We also see him wander across the street as a car almost hits him. Rap Monster (Rapmon) tries to live a normal life and goes to work at the gas station but is having trouble. We see him continuously suck on a lollipop as he goes on working. Eventually, he can’t take it anymore and throws the lollipop. Finally there is V, he walks around with his hood on bottling up his anger and sorrow until he burst. He goes to a familiar house. He finds a man abusing a woman and looses it. He grabs a wine bottle and attack the he man, and kills him. Some say it was his father, others think it was a girl, that he fancied, boyfriend. All we know for sure is her killed him. (I personally think its his father.) Many people say it is the other boys who die, however we never actually see it. J-Hope's eyes flutter open after he collapses. We never actually see Suga burn, Jimin's head never completely disappears under water, and the car stops before it hits Jungkook. Now look at the Prologue. Its starts with V covered in blood (the man's blood, this takes place after he kills him) he cries and he takes out his phone, calling someone "I want to see you, Hyung" he says. “Hyung” in Korean means brother. This, however, is only used between two boys (no girl calls her brother Hyung). However in most Asian culture (Korean, Chinese, Japanese) if you are close to someone you would call them sister, brother, aunt, uncle etc. Yet, notice he says “Hyung” singularly. So, is he talking about one of other boys (maybe Rap Monster), or perhaps our dying Jin. Jin is very distant from the boys, once the video goes on that gap is shortened, however there is still this separation. This is because almost the whole thing is happening in his head. When Jin is first introduced the others seem surprised to see him “Oh, its Jin Hyung!” Jungkook says. Jin is obsessed with filming the boys throughout this. The camera represents Jin's eyes. We are seeing this through his eyes. Jin is going over and replaying all his best memories. However, every now and then he stares off as if thinking about how perfect this place is; how its dream like...its not real. Proceeding is a scene where Rap Monster writes in the fog on a window, “You need to survive.” Later on in the video we see Rap Monster take a picture of Suga and Jin, then get into the front seat with Jin. J-Hope comes back from the gas station stop and gets into the truck. But before doing so he fixes the blanket on Jimin who is sitting in the back of the truck. We notice there is only Jimin in the back. This is strange. We know there are only 5 spots available inside the truck. Two boys in front, 3 in back, and Jimin in the trunk, that makes 6 boys. Additionally, in the video we see Rap Monster with that same lollipop, and Suga with his lighter. There is a scene by the campfire where Jungkook is laying on Suga’s lap. He leans over and blows out the lighter. Showing the end of all pain. This place truly is perfect… In the last scene before the credits, V climbs up this structure looks back at the boys then jumps off. This can seen so many different ways, but for theory we will interpret it as V (this one Jin has made up in his head) trying to escape this fake world and trying to deal with his internal conflicts. Lastly after the credits, Jin is alone in this peaceful place and pulls out the picture Rap Monster took of him and Suga. Suga is absent. Jin is all-alone In the opening of “Run” V falls backward into shadowy water. Throughout this entire video V is struggling in that water, he's drowning. In “Run” we see the boys acting out because of Jin's death. We see bonds that were slightly present in the Prologue strengthen and become very apparent in “Run”. There is Jimin and J-Hope (both depressed). We see them (at the beginning of the pillow fight scene) in a mental hospital (gray, plane walls. white sheets. medical supplies in the corner). Next we have Suga and Jungkook who are both lost. They get pretty close and often have arms wrapped around each other. We also have a fight scene between them. Perhaps Jungkook is trying to get Suga to realize the truth, Jin is dead. We finally have Rap Monster and V. We see Rap Monster support V in the Prologue and in “Run,” they both graffiti and get into mischief together (Jin once again is standing out due to not having a bond with an individual). Of course we could go into more details about the pairings, but for the sake of keeping this under a certain number of pages I will not. The boys create a fake party. All seven seem are present. There are several scenes when all the boys are together laughing. We even see J-Hope throw his pills into a fire. At the beginning of this party we see V spray paint a big X on Jin’s chest showing he is different. There is a scene at the party where V destroys Jin's House of Cards showing this perfect world isn't real. At another point in the video, Jimin opens the bathroom door to find all the boys in there partying. It is Jin that pulls him into the bathroom. This is very important! Jin then pushes him towards the water filled bathtub. Jimin is splashed on and even shoved under water for a few seconds. This ties in really tightly with Jimin in “I Need U,” and we can infer that it is Jin who is drowning Jimin. It is Jin who caused all this pain. Furthermore, when the boys are jumping on the cars, screaming and throwing things, Jin stays in the van watching but not taking part in the destructive behavior. Then the police come and the boys run away. Jin follows in the car. This can be interpreted as him protecting the boys, but also him being the thing that makes the boys run. Jin’s death is what is making the boys run (hens the title of the song). Jin catches up, and the boys jump into the car as it drives away. We notice there are only 5 boys in the back; Rap Monster is driving the car just like he was in the prologue. Jin is only present spiritually. Finally, as the group walks away, Jungkook stops and looks back at the viewers and "Jin.” He is accepting his death and letting Jin know he'll be ok. V comes up from the black water for he no longer is drowning. He too has accepted Jin’s death. After the credits, there is one final scene, Jimin is back in that bathtub he has a memory where all seven boys are at the beach. However, when he looks at a polaroid picture, Jin isn’t there. Jimin slowly realize the truth, but he quickly burns the picture (this ties in with “I Need U” when Jimin burns the unknown paper). He refuses to accept the truth that Jin is dead. There is a huge butterfly motif in these songs and videos. To start one album cover has butterflies on it and the other has branches and flowers. In “Run” there is a playing card with a butterfly on it. There is a moment of realization in the Prologue where Jin stares at butterflies. A song in the second album is called “Butterfly” (it also plays throughout the Prologue). Butterflies normally represent grace and peace, but they can also represent power and fragility. Flowers represent youth and life. In the prologue the words, “You can smile as long as we’re together.” Perhaps this is meant to show the power of friendship and love but how fragile it can be. But thats just my theory :)
Also guys.. Just to let everyone know there is no wrong answer because it's all the interpretation of the individual.. Theories are just theories because there is no confirmed story so... It's just all about everyone's own interpretation.. It's like art you know?.. But anyways I loved your theory guys!! It's better than what I could come up with lol ^_^
lol they're not his emotions though. based on the analysis of Run from some fans, Jin has died (the one that had white flower petals in I Need U) and all the rest of the friends are grieving in very wrong ways. They get drunk(like Suga), beat each other up(Suga and Jung Kook fight), meanwhile Jimin and Jhope seem to be in a mental hospital. the only one that has accepted Jin's death is Jung Kook. he wants others to snap out of it and accept it too. at the end of the MV he turns to Jin and smiles at him, meaning that they're ready to move forward without him and have accepted his death. (and you can see all of the other members EXCEPT Jin leaving. Jin is inside the car when Jung Kook turns to smirk at him!) ALSO in the last picture in this MV, when they take the picture all 7 members are there, but when the picture comes out..only 6 members are there, meaning that Jin has indeed died.. there are sooo many other details and hints I didn't include and honestly I don't remember them all. so I suggest you to check some of the analysis done by fans cause they're so interesting and make a lot of sense!!
Exactly , Jin is just watching over them , he doesn't realize that by dying , a huge series of tragedies will fall upon his friends , that's why in most scenes we see him spaced out or confused . His friends refuse to let him go , they don't accept his death so they act out the way they did , pretending he's still there when he isn't . Jungkook seems to realize it tho , but still , he can't just accept it either , or moreover, he doesn't want to , he thinks it's easier to stay this way than to face reality . That's why he looks back with a smile but doesn't stop his friends from acting out.
What I think is that run is the first thing... where Jin is dead (The one that gt X'ed out) and the others can't cope, except from Jungkook (the one that stares into the camera alot) he get's that Jin is gone.... But the others can't..... V and Rap monster does grafitti on the wall, which is what they used to do on/with Jin.. but you can see that V suddenly realized that Jin is gone. Suga drinks and get's violent, many thinks that he and Jungkook is a couple, and that's why Jungkook tries to hard to stop him and ends up punching him. When they ruin the cars, they are probably being rebelious since Jin used to take care of them. So when they run away and jump into the truck, only 5 is seen there.... at 4:14 in yoyur video you see Jungkook seeing Jin alone, observing them, which he also did when they crashed the cars, he always looks over them. Before the endings, you can see carlights lighting up their way, looking over them and then Jungkook turned around and smiles, telling Jin that they're going to be okay, that he is going to look after the others and that Jin can move over to the afterlife. After the credits you see all 7 at the beach, but in the photo Jimin is holding when in the bathtub there is only 6, sugesting 1 is dead. Then it's "I need you," where they're even more messed up. Jin is alone in a white room, meaning he is dead. The others are all getting themselvs killed some way or another. Until V stabbs that man, which is his violent-step father (In the proloug you see him holding a photo of a woman and a child, probably himself and his mother, showing that they didn't have a father before)Then I think maybe V really misses his friends support. Then in the proloug he imagen them together again, joking like before. But then he ends up jumping into the water to kill himself. and they can all meet in heaven - the original proloug, the one you watched, was deleated from their acount.... and the new version dosen't include the last seen with Jin alone in the car... which means that Bang PD. may have changed his mind a little about the storyplot... But some have another plot, which includes NEVERLAND and the whole peter pan thing, but I'm sure someone will comment that as well :P
Wait Josh, did you just called it out?! I mean the new album concept "Love Yourself".'Cause at 07:19 you're talking about loving yourself and I think you pointed it out spot on! "You can't love someone else if you don't love yourself"
Here's a little of what I've gathered from the videos. Some people say that Run(Them running away from all the bad things in their life) is their life before I NEED U and then the prologue is where things went wrong, and then I NEED U is last. Most people believe that this video is a representation of the 'Butterfly Effect' Another thing is that everyone except Jin is dead or Jin is dead and the others are alive. That hasn't been clarified yet and people have different opinions about it.
Another interesting part about BTS Run is that many of the lyrics mention their other new songs that is in the new album with Run. For instance when you guys mentioned how the house of cards was always unstable there is actually a BTS song called Outro: House of Cards that literally talks about how they can't escape their fate etc and know they'll fall/break like a house of cards. Also the lyrics in Run also mentions how they feel like they're withering leaves falling away. In the BTS Run Album there is also a song called Falling/Dead Leaves. AND Run lyrics mention butterfly and dreams which is a key component to the BTS song Butterfly that you heard playing in the very beginning of Run MV, in the Prologue; and there's the card picked up in Run that had a Butterfly too. For BTS albums all their songs within the same album share/extend upon the concept that the album is trying to portray, meaning that it's plausible all the new songs in the BTS Run/The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Part 2 Album coincide with each other to extend upon the concept of this trilogy.
Loved ur reaction trilogy of the most beautiful moment in life from BTS!!! Would u mind if I repost ur videos on a chinese video site, cuz I think a lot of chinese ARMYs would love it just like I do...
I swear they always make me see BTS in a different light. They show me that BTS is deeper than I ever expected. That they're more than just their style, their looks, and their dancing. They are actually saying something and it's up to us to find it
Here's my theory: Let's recap a little first, In I Need U, 5 members commit suicide, V kills his father and Jin lays down 6 petals, but we can also see them having fun with one another. I suspect that those were flashbacks. In the prologue, we all suspected that the 5 dead members were ghosts or hallucinations and I think we were right. V commits suicide by jumping into the ocean at the end of the prologue. At the start of Run, his journey into the water continues. There's a famous saying that your life flashes before your eyes when you're about to die. I think this whole MV "Run" was V's life flashing before his eyes, Jin remembering the good old days and lastly, the continuation of the prologue (V & Jin's conclusion). The days that they used to spend together, having fun. Majority of what V could remember was all the fun stuff he did with his friends and that's why he suddenly started to struggle in the water. He realised that he didn't really want to die but when he reached the surface, it was pitch black. He had already died. It was too late. For Jin, he was also remembering all his friends and he felt that life was not worth living anymore because he had lost his brothers (including V), in other words, the people that made him happiest. That's why at the end of the prologue, I suspect he committed suicide by driving into the water. That's why in the closing scene when Jungkook smiles at him, the end of the scene resembles an eye closing. It could symbolise Jin's death. I was reading some of the comments below and apparently Kurt Cobain's death anniversary (the day he commits suicide) clashes with the release of I Need U and coincidentally, we see the boys wearing Nirvana merchandise. This could suggest the fact that they died. If I remember correctly, the cover of the Nirvana CD is also a baby floating in water. For the last scene after the credits with Jimin, him burning their group picture could represent the fact that all of their lives have ended (like the end of a story). I some scenes, he and JHope are completely wearing white. In Chinese culture, white signifies death. I think the reason why we see all of them suddenly staring into space is that these were the same memories that flashed before their eyes when each of them died. In conclusion, they all died. On a side note, I think that Ma City is supposed to represent heaven or wherever they all went after they died and that's why we can only hear the 5 members that died in I Need U. They were welcoming V and Jin into the city of death.
in i need you they didnt die, you can see hoseok waking up and jimin crying after he tried to drown himself, maybe jungkook didn't get hit by the car, suga left the burning room and i'm not sure about rapmon but maybe he tried to quit his addiction. I think they all almost died in some way but they didn't except jin
Yours could be a plausible argument but so could mine. Just as we did not see the members die, we did not actually see them not die. Now we are just making assumptions, and my theory is based off the assumption that they did die. Yours is based on the assumption that they did. Neither wrong, just different :)
Jasmine Kira Knight idk, after watching i need you japanese ver. i reaaaally think jin died, i mean he is in a bed with those flowers (forgot their name sorry lol) in a dark room and it just makes so much sense lol
i love your theories i was waiting for your reaction but just to let you know in the last scene they guy burning the photo wasn't the same guy who was in the last scene of the prologue. Also the scene before the pic the guy (Jimin) burned, had all members but in the picture of the scene that the guy was holding in the bath tub had all but one and it was the guy from the last scene of the prologue (Jin) and in the prologue Jin was the only one in the picture and in here he was the only one not in the picture, there are also so many theories about this story and many deep theories for this like a Peter Pan theory and many more and no one really knows what its exactly about but we all make out guesses
a thing that you guys didn't notice is that at the end of the music video there is the picture but when jimin (the guy with orange hair) is burning it jin (the one who was driving the car in the tunnel) disappear before jimin burns it. the most 'famous' review of all the videos is that basically jin in I need you was the only one alive ( at the prologue when at the end he is on the truck with the picture he is the only one who appears) while the guys where struggling with things like drugs etc.. , while in run jin is the one who is dead while the guys are alive and they don't want to confront the real life without jin (which in the scene of the tunnel he represents that person that is always saving the others, in fact he takes care of them bringing them away from mess they did) in fact j-hope and jimin where at the hospital, while suga (the one with green hair) was getting drunk to not feel any pain, jungkook (the one who kind of stop suga) is the only one who actually accepted jin's dead even from the last scene where he blinks and he tries his best to make the group still together even after jin's dead. so this is basically 'heaven' and 'real life' mixed together. idk if I said it correctly I tried my best to explain it but there are a lot of other theorise about this video (one person even said that this was probably the representation of Kurt Cobain's life since all the nirvana T-shirts and the fact that kurt's life is a lot similar to the story in the mv's). there is not a certain explanation to those because suga (the one with all green hair) on a broadcast said that they will not tell the real story but they will let the fans guess but they will also not tell which story is correct and which not. other two things 1) when one of you said house of cards, that actually one of bts's new song on the new album (the album is really good you should check it out it's called 'in the mood for love pt.2', second I'm so happy that bts's actually grew on you I still remember the day that you said that you kind of didn't like them (because how they treated the girl in some of their mvs) so I'm happy that you guys like them cause they're really good singers/rappers/etc.. and they're also really nice, kind and funny off stage it's just they're label that at the beginning wanted to have them this image of bad boys but I'm happy he changed his mind and let bts do more things in their own way
I think you guys' theory is pretty good, but you guys were kinda getting confused with each member and what they were doing. The one who murdered the guy in i need u is v, and he was also the one who jumped off the thing in prologue and was under water in run. He was also the one laying on the mattress in prologue. The one who drove the car in run was Jin. Jin also was the one filming them in prologue, and the one who took the photo of himself and the other members and later realized he was the only one in the picture. Also, in the final scene you guys missed the part where it shows the 7 of them standing by the truck, then the screen flashes white and Jin disappears from the image and jimin burns it in the bathtub? Jimin was also in the bathtub in i need u and burned a paper in that mv. The one fighting in the one scene were suga (with the bright green hair) and jungkook. Rap monster was the one who always had a lollipop throughout the 3 videos.
+Yang Mi young they did say they were going to watch Mama's performance and Run is performed at Mama, so it's better if they watched the MV first before reviewing the Mama performance of Run. It ain't fair if they did Run then watched the MV after XD
Honestly, you guys have the most in depth analysis of this trilogy I've seen so far. Everything you said was new and it wasn't from the internet or anything. You guys are really damn smart and gosh, thanks for making me see it another light amidst all the other theories. I really don't mind another video discussing theories again. As always, great reaction and commentary guys!
YO THEY HAVE A SONG CALLED HOUSE OF CARDS ON THEIR ALBUM THE GIST OF IT IS "A house of cards and we're the idiots inside" (????) So three important characters: 1. V: The guy who killed someone and jumped in the water 2: Jin: The guy with the camera, the guy whose friends disappeared in the photo, the guy driving the truck 3: Jungkook: The guy who almost got hit by the chair, the guy who was alone at the party, the guy who looked back right before the chorus I really wanna know what their purpose is
Whether your theories are right or not, I'm honestly just so happy to see you guys so invested in the video, theorizing, and appreciating the cinematography, music, and acting. And your reactions are so enthusiastic, I love it!
OMG! I just realized who Josh reminds me of! Okay, storytime: A few years ago, I had this technology teacher who was literally the BEST teacher ever! He was always smiling and happy. And now I miss having him as a teacher. And ever since I watched these reactions, I always thought Josh reminded me of someone. I finally got it! Anyways...great reaction and hope to see more:)
They basically tell the story backwards. Run comes first then Prologue then I Need U. Jin is the only one dead and all the other members are alive. JHope and Jimin are in the hospital (mental?), Rap Mon and V are criminals, Suga is an alcoholic, and Jungkook is fine. He is the only one that comprehends Jin's death. In the tunnel scene Jin is the only one in the truck. the other members are running outside of the truck. Jin is always behind the camera, observing them from somewhere else. There is always some sort of barrier between Jin and the other six. The end of the video also shows Jimin burning a picture of them. Jin is the only one not in it. It's the same scene from I Need U where he burns the picture in the bathtub only this time we get to see what the picture is. After that the screen says "2015.04.29 - FOREVER." That is the day I Need U came out. Before the credits V surfaces. He was the one who jumped into the water in the Prologue. Throughout Run it shows him drowning but in that ending scene he comes up out of the water....almost as if his mind is clear. He's done struggling and done fighting the truth that his friend is gone. He accepts it and joins Jungkook. Something to add to that thing with Jin always behind the camera is that right before V surfaces it shows Jungkook staring at the camera. He's looking at Jin as the other five members are walking away. It's the same scene as I Need U where he walks out into the road and is standing staring into the headlights of a car. The only difference is that in I Need U he looked scared and hurt. But in run he looked loving and content.
Such great theories! Well, for Run, The Prologue and I Need U, there are MULTIPLE theories but the two that seem to be the most popular is Jin (The one with the pink camera/the theory I support the most) being the only one that died while the others learn to cope with it and soon learn to let Jin go. OR Jin is Peter Pan and the other six are The Lost Children and Jin is leading the other 6 so they can move on peacefully and not have to be scared about dying and moving on to the afterlife. I mainly think that the Peter Pan theory COULD be in the Jin is the only one dead theory in the sense that Jin was pretty much their guidance, guiding them away from harm and other things but since Jin died, they have to learn to cope without that special guidance and soon they do learn to cope without his help.
I have to be honest... one of the main reasons I LOVE y'alls reactions and come back over and over to watch is how you guys go SO deep. You see things and come up with things I'd never have gone there... sometimes I feel so shallow and sometimes I'm just like OH MY GOD, I SEE THAT! You all are awesome. Keep up the great work! :)
woaaah finally you did it!!! well that's exactly what they talk about on their music video and im sooo glad you guys got the message of the videos, and fyi as a kpop group bts is the type of group that will not only boast a more passionate fan base for the way they made them feel from a certain hit single but also one that can help push a society forward while they're at it ANYWAYS I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!
Never seen anyone, BTS fan or not try to decipher a music video in such detail ever before! I really love that you've tried the best you can to make out what it all means, I still don't it, but I've been a fan of BTS since Boy in Luv came out, so I'm just happy to see the boys in another amazing mv! Looking amazing of course!
+KpopMusicFTW nah they said somewhere that this is the last part of the hyyh series. Maybe they'll do a follow up promotion with a video that explains the story, but I think they're just going to leave it up to our interpretation (for artistic license :P)
“if you can’t love yourself, you can’t love another” wow i can’t believe u guys discovered the entire meaning behind BTS’ content, cuz when you think about it, while the members were all being happy with each other in INU+Prologue+Run, there was still that inner turmoil being portrayed while they were by themselves. fast forward to the short films with their female partners/romantic interests, while there is still a sort of love story between them, there is still some conflict within themselves. *it does not matter if you have many friends or a romantic partner, if you can’t love yourself, you can’t love another*
Boosting time: -already 3 win with Run -Run is #171 in Billboard 200 -Run is 8th on Gaon Digital -"Most Beautiful Moment pt2" album is 1st on Gaon physical,Billboard Heatseeker,Billboard World album chart. -Over 150 000 copies has sold. I'm proud of this guy.Starting from unknown company now they're big star.
Hahaha I love how u guys were so into the theories. But, u guys r kinda wrong in a lot of parts 😂😅 there r so many small bits that are important too! I would recommend looking online for those theories cuz lots of fans wrote blogs about it! In every music video, there are hints to the next one~ and that just adds up! The theories r never over lol BigHit turns us into detectives haha
This was adorable! Don't worry, guys. No one knows the real theory behind BTS MVs. Everyone takes something different away from them, and that is what art is! Thank you for your interpretations! Keep up the fantastic reactions! :D
your wrong. in run everything starts jin the oldest dies and everyone is suffering because of that. in the part where their destroying cars jin isn't with them but smiling at them his ghost is looking after them. in I need u it got to hard for them they took their separate ways and they end up killing themself. in the prologue v is the only one alive and you use the other members running toward him. I think everyone is dead and v is the only one alive
Nobody is wrong since there is still no definite answer to this. Just because someone's opinion is different from yours you can't just accuse them for being wrong. Btw their theory kinda makes sense too.
So glad you guys watched all three back to back! Really interesting theories. Idk if you guys noticed but when he's looking at the picture in the tub, Jin was no longer in the picture. In case you guys didn't catch that. There's a lot of theories out there, but who knows! You should check some of them out. :D
I saw some people saying that Jin (the one making the house of cards) died and that each member deals with his death differently which was shown in I Need You. For example, Jhope ends up in the hospital because he was overdosed, Rap Monster and V got arrested by the police, Suga becomes alcoholic (the one with mint hair). Jungkook (the one with Suga) is the only one who accepted Jin's death and so in his scene with Suga he tries to calm him down, thus getting violent. And that at the end of the video, you can see that Jin is the only one in the car not causing trouble, so in a way he was their guide something like that. And as you can see at the end of the video Jungkook was looking back as if he's trying to tell Jin that he can now be at peace as they now accepted his death. Also, right after the credits, Jimin was burning that photo and Jin wasn't in it which kinda tells that they're no longer a group without him. There's probably some parts I missed but this is only like a summarise
OMO! 😲 you guys are genius. i think the emotion theory is the same as the alter ego theory. After releasing the Wings short films esp. Jin's, it came that you guys are really correct. i actually read some other theories but this got me goosebumps.
There's a lot of theories. The one I've seen is that Jin (the one in the truck) is actually dead and Jungkook (the one that looks back at Jin) is the only one that has accepted it. Which explains why he is trying to console Suga but he fights him back. Jin isn't in the photo with his friend in prologue and he's not in the last photo they show at the end of run either
Many theories of this storyline might be that Jin (the guy in the last scene of the prologue) had died or left and all the members of the group couldn't handle it since he was kind of like their rock but in many scenes you can see that the members were paired off (Suga & Jungkook, RapMonster&V, Jhope&Jimin) and the only one left out was Jin, in I Need U Jin was holding a flower and in Korea it can represent grief or there a legend that if you sleep in a room with close windows with that flower you can suffocate and there is a scene where Jin opens the blinds to his window kind of also in the scene where V and Rapmonster are getting arrested V starts to frown a bit but they don't show rap monster after that scene and I was thinking V could've been imagining Rapmonster as a memory like how it happened before when they were reckless and then he was actually getting arrested for murder. Also another thing is that Jungkook in the party scene (he punched Suga) the say he is the only one who accepted the death of their friend, Jin while everyone tries to get drunk and party and forget about everything but he tries to knock some sense into Suga, trying to hug him instead of hit and try to tell him that he's gone and accept it, that's also why Suga screams and fights back cause he doesn't want to believe it. This is just a theory though! Another thing might help with the theory is the Nirvana shirt that Rap Monster wore in the Prologue and V wore in Run, it could do with the word or the band and their track intro is also called 'Nevermind' so it might have something revolving around that too
One of the theories there are is that in I Need You, Jin is dead (that's why he's the only one not shown going through troubles and wearing white). All the members are dealing with his death in their own ways. The flower petals he places on the floor is the hope that he has for his friends. The scenes of them together are memories that Jin has of being with his friends. In the Prologue, it's basically showing Jin looking back and thinking he is still with his friends. At one point while he is recording, he lowers his camcorder and looks around. This is him realizing that everything is strangely perfect. In I Need You, you see everyone has their own problem, but in the Prologue, everything is too perfect. At the end when he looks at the picture he took with his friend, he notices that only he is in the picture and realizes his friends are no longer with him. In Run, the rest of the members are beginning to accept Jin's death and try to forget about it when they are all together. When they are alone, you can see they are still struggling. While the boys are having fun again, Jin is building a house of cards, starting to think that he is with them again. But when the house of cards falls apart, he is reminded of his death. When they vandalize people's cars, they are running away when Jin drives a car up to them and they get in. This is him watching over them, but as the car drives away, there are only five members in the back, not six. There are seven members, so if Jin is driving, the remaining six should be in the back. Instead, there only five because one of the other members is driving and Jin isn't actually there. There are then two important moments at the end. When the boys are walking away and one of them (Jungkook) turns around, if you count the members shown, there are only six because Jin isn't there. And then, at the very end of the music video, it shows the members around the truck and then it turns to a picture of them around the truck. The only difference between when when it actually happened and the picture is that, again, Jin disappears when it changes to being a picture. The member holding the picture (Jimin) burns the picture because he doesn't want to be reminded that his friend is dead.
hey idk if anyone mentioned it but in a video they played at their concert a weeks back they had them all sitting to take a "family" photo but Jin was the only one who came out on the actual photo (guy whose driving the car and was the only one in the photo in the prologue video end part) :3
I just have to say, I have freaking loved watching all of the BTS I NEED U/Prologue/Run reactions. I think it's wonderful that KPOP videos can stir up such deep emotions and discussions. It's not just all hip thrusts hahaha. And I'm so happy it was BTS who did this because I have always loved and respected how they manage to slip social commentary and pieces of themselves and their lives into all of their songs. As a KPOP fan and an ARMY I'm just so proud :D
So I believe Jin died from the very start. Jin is the one that always has a video camera recording the members, it's a sign of him watching over the other members. He's also the one who built the house of cards (symbolizing stability) and the one who drove the car to save them in the tunnel. I think after Jin died, the members couldn't handle the grief of his death, that's why everything is chaotic. I think Suga and Kookie are a couple that are going through fights bc of Jin's death and eventually kills themselves (Suga with fire and Kookie with the car hitting him). Hope took the pills, Jimin drowned himself, and Rap Mon blew up (cigarette and gas station). Then there's V. I think bc of Jin's death, he probably was running on his emotions when he killed the dude in I Need U and when he called someone in the beginning of the prologue, he was calling Jin saying he needs him but nobody replies through the phone bc Jin's already dead. V ends up suiciding by jumping of the platform.
It's great to leave this open to interpretation. This does make sense and bring deep messages with it and even if it isn't exactly what the directors meant, it can mean that way to us.
Btw their tracklist for this album is : INTRO- Nevermind Run Butterfly Walien52 (a whale who spoke in 52 hertz which no other whale can do since it's a higher frequency and so the whale doesn't have any friends or anything since it can't talk to anyone or communicate) Ma city "뱁새" (Crow-Tit) SKIT "고엽" (Dead Leaves) OUTRO- House of Cards btw their album title 화양연화 translates to either 'The Most Beautiful Moments In Life' or 'In The Mood For Love' but it 'The Most Beautiful Moments In Life' is used more
+Josh Binder I guess to understand it better, you have to watch it a few more times. My theory was everyone else but V and Jin died in I Need U: JHope - overdose, Suga - burned himself, Jimin - drowned, Rap Monster - gas station explosion/fire and Jungkook gets hit by a car. In Prologue only Jin and V are alive and the rest are in their memories, but in the end V kills himself because he kind of feels like he has no future since he killed someone and he wants to be with the others. The writing on the mirror that Rap Monster wrote was mostly for Jin, saying that he had to live on even if they weren't with him anymore. The picture that they Rap Monster took of Jin and Suga, at the last minutes of the MV, Jin looks at the photo again but he's alone; implying that the other's weren't with him to begin with. So the others have already died, but Jin can't accept it, so he still sees them in his head or in his dreams. In Run, that's when Jin starts to realize something isn't right. V is struggling in the water and there's that scene where he destroy's the house of cards that Jin makes, so it's V who is trying to get Jin to realize that they are gone. There's also moments throughout Run and Prologue that Jin seems to look a little out of it, this means he's slowly figuring it out. When Jungkook and Suga fight, they smash the mirror and the house of cards fall down; that's when Jin gets it and somehow accepts it. I'm not to sure if Jin dies in the end since it's never shown, but after the scene where they mess up a bunch of cars and cause traffic, Jungkook looks back and smiles at Jin, I guess this is where they've all accepted things and in the end V gets out of the water because he's done his job in trying to tell Jin. Anyways, I love your reactions~ This was great!
I've seen this mv a million times and their reaction to it a couple times but am I the only one that screams when they scream its like a reminder of how awesome the mv and theories are
I'll just tell my theory cuz I think it make the most sense out of all the theories out there xD the only person who died is JIN. at the end they showed all 7 of them around the car on the beach, but when jimin was holding the picture JIN DISAPPEARED. also when they were in the tunnel, he was watching them while sitting in the car, but when they were running away and he pick them up, we could only see 5 members!! and the 6th member is driving. JIN IS NOT WITH THEM! ever since Jin died all of them were going crazy and do crazy shit but you could tell that jungkook is the only who's accepting Jin's death, you could see that when he was trying to calm a drunk emotional suga, and when he was sitting in the floor watching the others going crazy. and the scene before the credits where there's only 6 of them walking on the street and jungkook look back at the car (which resembles Jin) and smile to him assuring him that everything is fine now, and jin closes his eyes as the screen closes. but theres also some kind of weird relationship going on between jin and v that I don't really understand. v spray painting X on Jin, v destroying the house of cards that Jin built, and v crying in the railway and later you could notice jin is also there in the railway! I really don't get what that means
your guys theories were so good!! I think in the end, bts left us (armies) to interpret these music videos through our own thought process in order to make a theory that rings true to us, that we can connect with emotionally.
What I got from the videos is that they're all a group of friends. And its been hinted a little that Jin is dead or isn't really there. From their relationship you could say that they all came from destructive or not positive homes. In "run" they're all acting out but if you see any of the bad behavior they're doing. Jin is only watching. He never takes part or is even being acknowledged. This is because he's dead and I think he knows it too because during scenes like the cards falling down or him standing against the wall watching, its like he keeps realizing something. But with the state his friends are at, he cant move on, he needs to keep watching over them. During the end credits if you watch closely, I think where Jin was in the actual Music Video, its a completely different member in the "real time" version being shown in the credits. For whatever reason, they're pillar died and all they have is each other but they all act out in different ways. As shown in I need you. Suga loses track of himself and pushes everyone away and just wants to drown out the loss. He becomes sucicidal. J-hope is also on anti-depressants but he tries to overdose. Jimin keeps looking at the picture from prologue but if you look closely, Jin isn't in it. He also is on anti-depressants but tries to drown himself instead. Jongkook is just wandering aimlessly like he's waiting for sign, Rap monster separates from the group and works at the gas station, the same one him and his friends always went to. And V bottles it all up. He's drowning, like we see in Run. For Jin however he's been dead since I need you. We sort of see the process of it. Him in white in a all white room. Parting with 6 petals (which I think represents his friends). Standing in the darkness until the light blooms in him and then opening the window to light. He's dead but he cant leave them. Prologue is sort of from his eyes rather than the boys. They're together and having fun and everything is perfect but perhaps a little too perfect because again he has a few moments of realization and he looks around confused. For prologue when V jumps in the water, its about the same time in I need you when he kills the older male who could very well be his father. He was just a ticking time bomb and went to his parents at the wrong time which resulted in a death and his life changing forever. In run if you watch Jongkook, he starts questioning too. Probably they're choices and destructive behavior and even though its brought the boys closer together (V+Rapmon | J-hope+Jimin | Jongkook+Suga ) they need to move on and so he consults Suga about it who absolutely wont hear it at all. They aren't ready to accept it yet. And because of that Jin can't leave them. At the very end of Run with the cars, Jin only watches as they vandalize the vehicles, and when they boys run, we never actually see him driving it. He's only sitting there. Its shot in a way to fool us in to thinking he's driving but when the boys turn to the car is when they actually escape, and if you look closely the back only has 5 members instead of the 6 that would be acting out if Jin was driving. Rapmon is missing. I think that when we see Jongkook turn and look in to the car, he's ready to accept Jin's loss and the hurt that came with it, and wants to step up to be the person Jin was to his group. Looking out for them, supporting them, and basically being their world because that's what they are to each other. And its then at that moment when he decides on it that he looks back and can see that Jin's been with them the whole time. And through this we get the scene of V coming out of the water. I think its because somehow they all get through it are no longer drowning in they're pain and bad decisions. Jongkook was the first step and while they're never be the same again, they can move on and be together and just continue life. But yes thats my take from the three. :D What did everyone else think?
I really like reactions like these where they really focus on the message of the music video since they do not understand the lyrics or maybe they do because there are subtitles. Not like other reactions where they just WATCH and not ANALYZE. These folks are also quiet throughout the video which made me love them because they seem so interested. Gained a follow guys!
There're a lot of theories going around, most of them agree that the 3 videos intertwine and that there's no order on the vids but by scenes; one of the theories says that Jin (the one drivig) died prior to I need u and that the rest of the boys couldn't handle his death and that's why they started doing bad things and trying to commit suicide etc ... and that the main point of these vids it's the message of moving on no matter what you've been throught. Other theories talk about the butterfly effect / parallel lines, while others say that It was just a rupture on their group since the oldest one (jin) wanted to move on from the kind of life they were living (vandalism and stuff) I guees we'll never know for sure but your theory was really fresh and interesting
The theory I believe most is, is that Jin is the one who is dead and the events of the music videos are all memories with each member and the different ways they coped with losing Jin, who was like a mother/father figure to them. V, who was the closest to Jin, reacted the most and ended up killing someone. J-Hope overdosed. Namjoon began smoking (some people don't catch this, but in I Need U, when he drops the lollipop on the money, it turns into a cigarette before frames change.) Suga becomes depressed and drinks and eventually catches his room on fire with him in it. Jimin drowns in his bathtub (I guess, at least.) And Jungkook, the one who faced the frame and smiled in Run, is the only one who's actually come to terms with everything. In I Need U, he snapped a bit, but finally got back together. That's how I look at it really.
I'm pretty sure Jin is supposed to be the main character. There are theories like he is schizophrenic, some where all the members are dead except Jin, some where Jin is dead, some peterpan inspired theory, and more. You guys should read about some other theories. Some even connect to the teaser photos from before the mv was released. It's also important to know some stuff about Korean culture. In korea, white lilies represent death, and in i need u, Jin was holding 6 white lilies (the other 6 members). Also, butterflies represent souls of the dead, and in jin's teaser photos, there was always a butterfly with him to represent the dead souls of the other members. Other theories saying Jin is dead is when he is driving the car behind everyone to represent how he is always looking out for the others. And suga fights jungkook because suga began drinking after Jin died and jungkook is trying to help him. Also, jungkook turns around and smiles at someone in a car in run (smiling at Jin)
Honestly I love your reaction! Some people are saying that Jin is the only one dead among them because of the picture where he disappears but for me it can actually mean that he is the only one missing in that part of reality because all this time playing with the members we're just hallucinations and now that he's finally come to his senses that they're all dead, Jin not being in the picture with other members could symbolize that I guess somehow he's accepted the fact they're dead and he's not and they're in a different place now that doesn't include him.
Actually, there is going to be one more music video in this series. Most Beautiful Moments in Life (the album these songs come from) is a trilogy. I Need U was for MBMIL Pt. 1, and Run is for Pt. 2. There's one more part to go, and I believe (or at least hope) that the answers to our questions will be brought to light~ But dudes, you haaavvve to listen to the album tracks for those two albums. BTS has some of the most heartfelt and artful music I've evvvveerrr heard frfr
I'm not usually one for theories, but there's one in particular that I like. The idea is that I Need U and Run would be different timelines. The Prologue would be where they diverge from each other. In I Need U, Jin would be dead causing all of the other members' destructive behavior. In Run, they would all be alive but some series of events would have caused a rift between them, which is why Jungkook and Suga are fighting. It could also explain why everyone's gone after that shot of Jungkook pans in at the party. Because of his presence changing everything (which is what's known as the Butterfly Effect :P) , Jin can see the differences, hence his confusion whenever he sees pictures. He knows who should be there, but for reasons unknown to him, they aren't. But what do I know.
Lol, I´m watching your reactions on these for like the 3rd time, I love how you actually react and talk about what you think about everything and point things out. And the cinematography really IS amazing, I love the visuals so much. If I´d take nothing else from these, I´d at least had the impresions it made on me.
Lol you guys are so hyped and serious in these two videos (with prologue) like never before so I was thinking you just trolling the fans. Not expected you to be so deep)))
I really like Akbar's theory about emotions. Haven't thought about that. Such a great suggestion! Love it. I liked how you talked about resurfacing and all. In my opinion, the best theory out there. I've watched your reactions to "I Need U" (the original) and "The Prologue", and I would like to say how awesome this experience has been :) I like that your discussions are interesting, deep, and don't come across as a joke. It really does feel like the three of you are into it, like you're invested.
If anyone actually paid attention to the videos, they'd see that the only one who dies is Suga. In I Need U, (the original version, because the edited one doesn't explain much) Rap Mon gets left behind at the gas station that they stopped at during the prologue, and that's all that happens to him. Jin is just really depressed, but nothing really happens to him either, so I have no clue why everyone thinks that he died. Jungkook gets stopped in the alley and gets beaten up really badly and then later either gets hit or almost gets hit by a car, which I think is the end scene of Run where Jungkook turns around. J-hope takes all of those pills in the beginning and then falls over on the bridge because he overdosed. Jimin tries to drown himself in the bathtub after burning that picture of them on their trip from the prologue. If you pay attention, in Run, J-hope and Jimin both wake up in the hospital after their attempted suicides. But they are both very much alive. And in Run, the scene where they're all in the bathroom and they shove Jimin in the water in the bathtub is significant because that's how he tried to commit suicide. Suga sets the room on fire and burns himself alive. He died. That's the reason he disappears from the picture of him and Jin that Rap Mon took in the car and that Jin was looking at at the end of the prologue. V stabbed that guy after seeing him hit the girl. The end of this scene is in the beginning of the prologue. This is the reason that V seems distant throughout the whole prologue. First laying on the mattress, then walking out on that ledge type thing toward the middle of the video, and then very similarly climbing up at the end and jumping into the water. That's the reason that V is underwater the entire time in Run. Everything that goes on in Run is memories from their trip going through V's head. Even though it's three separate videos, you can't try to put them in chronological order. They all pretty much happen at the same time. The events from I Need U and Run happen during the trip that they're on in the prologue, although I Need U happens at the very beginning, and Run is a sort of flashback. Most people think that the story of these videos follows Jin, but if you paid attention, it's actually about V.So the two theories disproved and lessons learned are that Jin died (or some people thought that everyone BUT Jin died) and that the story focuses on Jin. Suga is the only one who died, and the story is mostly about V.
+Deanna Jade yeah I think this is the theory that makes sense the most.
+diaryanjo Jin is not the only hyung. You do know what the word means do you? It means older brother or older male friend.
+Mal L I was about to say that too haha
+diaryanjo a male calls another male who he is close to and who is older than him, Hyung. for Jungkook, everyone in BTS is a Hyung. for Taehyung, he can call all of them hyung except Jungkook.
5 years later, still the best reaction for this MVs ever
guys!!! look at the photo at 7:27 they are all there together but at 7:32 jin isn't in it and the door is open maybe he left or maybe he died and they and jin are both living in different worlds.
Duck they didn't see it.. they busy talked about theory, and they didn't saw that important thing
Wow, you opened my eyes, mate!
I think most of you said was right... But in the end of "I need you" you will see all of them not dying ,
1.J hope opening his eyes after falling down
2.jimin failing to drown himself.. So he just sits crying near/ in the bathtub
2. Rapmon dropping his cigarette and not smoking in a gas station( which is symbolized by the lollipop)
3. I cant remember the rest "not dying " moments but they're there .. You just gotta keep looking
4.the only one who died is Jin because of all the things that you said..and because that flower kind off represents death in korea, i guess there is a saying in korea that means if you sleep with it you will dye or somthing
So from this i guess that the actual sequence of the MVs are
Run , prologue and then i need you ( with some small cuts back and forth in time )
Run is where jun dies (probably in a normal way.IDK) and the rest start getting a little bit messed up
Prologue is when jin "the ghost or sprit or whate" is watching his friends missing him.
...missing him and , becoming more messed up , and trying to survive together
I need you is when they start to get really messed up ( drugs , suicide , killing someone ) but they eventually a little by little wil learn to move on (which is shown in run's last seen)
And then i could be wrong 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
+Chet BTS ARMY that could mean that jin is the only one alive and the others are dead too
+Chet BTS ARMY I think they didn't notice wich polaroid jimin burnt. I think they thought is the one took at the gas station
LOL. BTS has been putting our emotions at a turmoil this year. haha
+Peytonn88 yes that's why i pointed that out. they were too busy discussing the whole mv, and missed out on the most imp part actually. lol
Yes! You beat me to this comment hahaha. They got mixed up between the members and came up with the "feelings" theory xD
The picture was a photo of a woman and a child
Kaleena P. Actually, it's a man. Middle aged and elder men in Korea usually have that hairstyle. The squarish jaw is also an indication of a man, not woman (especially amongst Koreans). :) It's a man and a child
i'm sorry but i was laughing so hard at the observation that JiMin always has something to do with bathrooms
Che Rui Chew but he's always in a damn bathroom....like in Boy in Luv he was in the bathroom....with Jung Kook....
(I personally think its his father.)
Many people say it is the other boys who die, however we never actually see it.
Proceeding is a scene where Rap Monster writes in the fog on a window, “You need to survive.”
Later on in the video we see Rap Monster take a picture of Suga and Jin, then get into the front seat with Jin.
This place truly is perfect…
In the last scene before the credits, V climbs up this structure looks back at the boys then jumps off.
Jin is all-alone
In the opening of “Run” V falls backward into shadowy water.
I'm new to BTS but this helped me a lot
"No matter how the waves the look, after it all happens and the waters calm down, you surface."
...Wow... Just.. Wow o.o
Omg this is from 5 years ago. now they are the biggest groupband in the world.thank you for your reaction..
lol they're not his emotions though. based on the analysis of Run from some fans, Jin has died (the one that had white flower petals in I Need U) and all the rest of the friends are grieving in very wrong ways. Jin is inside the car when Jung Kook turns to smirk at him!)
ALSO in the last picture in this MV, when they take the picture all 7 members are there, but when the picture comes out..only 6 members are there, meaning that Jin has indeed died..
there are sooo many other details and hints I didn't include and honestly I don't remember them all. so I suggest you to check some of the analysis done by fans cause they're so interesting and make a lot of sense!!
I dont think thats right. For me Peter Pan theory makes much more sense and its conected to teaser pics and Taes tweet.
Angelina 16 that's one of the theories too but this one makes sense to me most :) idk everyone has different theories..
Wow!!!! this made so much sense!!!!
Nsha76 Guys have been giving us hints. Check out they teaser pictures on instagram and V has been tweeted this song called lost boy
You guys should watch it a couple more times because you keep getting the members mixed up as the main guy. XD
But then he ends up jumping into the water to kill himself. and they can all meet in heaven
- the original proloug, the one you watched, was deleated from their acount.... and the new version dosen't include the last seen with Jin alone in the car... which means that Bang PD. may have changed his mind a little about the storyplot...
But some have another plot, which includes NEVERLAND and the whole peter pan thing, but I'm sure someone will comment that as well :P
I love how you guys were talking about loving yourself and now "LOVE YOURSELF" is their new concept.
omg I laughed so hard each time you got excited XD you are all smart btw and you get deep into stuff..
Most people believe that this video is a representation of the 'Butterfly Effect'
Another thing is that everyone except Jin is dead or Jin is dead and the others are alive.
Sure! Go right ahead :)
I swear they always make me see BTS in a different light. They show me that BTS is deeper than I ever expected. That they're more than just their style, their looks, and their dancing. They are actually saying something and it's up to us to find it
Here's my theory:
Let's recap a little first, In I Need U, 5 members commit suicide, V kills his father and Jin lays down 6 petals, but we can also see them having fun with one another.
+Caitlin Glass I think he died too! :) I just think that he died after he realised that they were gone, not before.
+Caitlin Glass I think he died too! :) I just think that he died after he realised that they were gone, not before.
omg i fangirled when you mentioned kh i just love kingdom hearts god
i love your theories i was waiting for your reaction but just to let you know in the last scene they guy burning the photo wasn't the same guy who was in the last scene of the prologue.
I enjoyed watching u guys!! Thank u. 💜
wish you guys could reach to BTS MAMA performance and their dance practice tbh
*Run dance practice
+Yang Mi young they did say they were going to watch Mama's performance and Run is performed at Mama, so it's better if they watched the MV first before reviewing the Mama performance of Run. It ain't fair if they did Run then watched the MV after XD
Honestly, you guys have the most in depth analysis of this trilogy I've seen so far. Everything you said was new and it wasn't from the internet or anything. You guys are really damn smart and gosh, thanks for making me see it another light amidst all the other theories. I really don't mind another video discussing theories again. As always, great reaction and commentary guys!
YO THEY HAVE A SONG CALLED HOUSE OF CARDS ON THEIR ALBUM THE GIST OF IT IS "A house of cards and we're the idiots inside" (????)
So three important characters:
1. V: The guy who killed someone and jumped in the water
2: Jin: The guy with the camera, the guy whose friends disappeared in the photo, the guy driving the truck
3: Jungkook: The guy who almost got hit by the chair, the guy who was alone at the party, the guy who looked back right before the chorus
I really wanna know what their purpose is
Dude your theories are awesome btw
There's one more video thats apart of this short story/film, it's:
Young Forever by Bts
YOU MISSED THE MOST IMPORTANT PART THAT IS WHEN JIN DISAPPEARS IN THE PHOTO AT THE END OK
Such great theories! Well, for Run, The Prologue and I Need U, there are MULTIPLE theories but the two that seem to be the most popular is Jin (The one with the pink camera/the theory I support the most) being the only one that died while the others learn to cope with it and soon learn to let Jin go.
OR
Jin is Peter Pan and the other six are The Lost Children and Jin is leading the other 6 so they can move on peacefully and not have to be scared about dying and moving on to the afterlife.
I mainly think that the Peter Pan theory COULD be in the Jin is the only one dead theory in the sense that Jin was pretty much their guidance, guiding them away from harm and other things but since Jin died, they have to learn to cope without that special guidance and soon they do learn to cope without his help.
you guys' theories are always hilarious and interesting to hear 😂
I have to be honest... one of the main reasons I LOVE y'alls reactions and come back over and over to watch is how you guys go SO deep. You see things and come up with things I'd never have gone there... sometimes I feel so shallow and sometimes I'm just like OH MY GOD, I SEE THAT! You all are awesome. Keep up the great work! :)
Haha they actually have a song called House of Cards in this album...
For me, this whole THING is all memories being showed and these "happy" memories with your "loved" ones are The Most Beautiful Moment In Life...
Wow it's good to see someone figure out a theory that not about the members at all, causing me rethinking mane things:))
woaaah finally you did it!!! well that's exactly what they talk about on their music video and im sooo glad you guys got the message of the videos, and fyi as a kpop group bts is the type of group that will not only boast a more passionate fan base for the way they made them feel from a certain hit single but also one that can help push a society forward while they're at it
ANYWAYS I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!
HE LITERALLY JUST SAID 'LOVE YOURSELF' OMG
BTS is brilliant.. future concepts were embedded from the very beginning
There will be a Part 3 as i've heard~
+Sweetdango how do you know that?
+Mogami Kyoko It went around on instagram, but of course it's nothing official, like I said I heard.
they said they'll show abs in part 8 xDDD
Arent there supposed to be four parts? :/
+KpopMusicFTW nah they said somewhere that this is the last part of the hyyh series. Maybe they'll do a follow up promotion with a video that explains the story, but I think they're just going to leave it up to our interpretation (for artistic license :P)
I still love coming back to this & watching you all talk about the theories
That's an interesting theory xD man, I don't know what to believe anymore. I feel like it would be best if BTS explained it themselves.
im so happy that you said it was the unstable house of cards, because the outro of their new album is called exactly it
I finally found boys who likes bangtan ☺ .. kamsa ❤
jeralyn ungab 🙋🏻♂️
“if you can’t love yourself, you can’t love another” wow i can’t believe u guys discovered the entire meaning behind BTS’ content, cuz when you think about it, while the members were all being happy with each other in INU+Prologue+Run, there was still that inner turmoil being portrayed while they were by themselves. fast forward to the short films with their female partners/romantic interests, while there is still a sort of love story between them, there is still some conflict within themselves. *it does not matter if you have many friends or a romantic partner, if you can’t love yourself, you can’t love another*
You guys should try to learn the names of the members and watch the videos again so you don't get confused about who is doing what :)
Boosting time:
-already 3 win with Run
-Run is #171 in Billboard 200
-Run is 8th on Gaon Digital
-"Most Beautiful Moment pt2" album is 1st on Gaon physical,Billboard Heatseeker,Billboard World album chart.
They should react to the Japanese version of I Need You. It explains more. I'm pretty sure it was Jin who died after watching that...
+Kpopdreamb2st not necessarily, i mean bts never confirmed any theories. they said it was up for interpretation
+Kpopdreamb2st that may be what you took from it but since nothing has been confirmed, Akbar's view may be right, you never know
+Kpopdreamb2st You can't say anyone's wrong when nothing anyone else has said is 100% confirmed.
Nobody is wrong since there is still no definite answer to this. Just because someone's opinion is different from yours you can't just accuse them for being wrong. Btw their theory kinda makes sense too.
I just happen to watch this again... and you mentioned "Love Yourself", omglol
Please check out the Peter Pan theory!! It makes a lot of sense
So glad you guys watched all three back to back! Really interesting theories. Idk if you guys noticed but when he's looking at the picture in the tub, Jin was no longer in the picture. In case you guys didn't catch that. There's a lot of theories out there, but who knows! You should check some of them out. :D
Lmao you mixed up a lot of the people so your theories are wrong :(
Damnnnnnnnnnnnn, I just started watching you guys. I'm so surprised how you got all of that from those three videos.
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL! You guys excitement was completely infectious. I got great joy out of watching your theories.
I'M SCREAMING! You guys are so excited and it's awesome how deep you go right away with the meanings! Good job! This was so, so much fun to watch :D
Totally amazed. They said "love yourself" and that was the future concept after wings and the main message bts wanted to tell everybody. SO SHOOK!!!!
Hey guys, I know I'm reeeeeally late, but did you know that there's actually a 4th part to this? It's 'Young Forever'
You guys are like some of the only people who paid attention to what may be the meaning of the video with company.
Btw their tracklist for this album is :
INTRO- Nevermind
Run
Butterfly
Walien52 (a whale who spoke in 52 hertz which no other whale can do since it's a higher frequency and so the whale doesn't have any friends or anything since it can't talk to anyone or communicate)
Ma city
"뱁새" (Crow-Tit)
SKIT
"고엽" (Dead Leaves)
OUTRO- House of Cards
btw their album title 화양연화 translates to either 'The Most Beautiful Moments In Life' or 'In The Mood For Love' but it 'The Most Beautiful Moments In Life' is used more
+Josh Binder I guess to understand it better, you have to watch it a few more times.
I've seen this mv a million times and their reaction to it a couple times but am I the only one that screams when they scream its like a reminder of how awesome the mv and theories are
I love how excited you guys got over this. I also like reading the theories in the comments, although they all make me sad, like the MV.
I'll just tell my theory cuz I think it make the most sense out of all the theories out there xD
the only person who died is JIN. at the end they showed all 7 of them around the car on the beach, but when jimin was holding the picture JIN DISAPPEARED. also when they were in the tunnel, he was watching them while sitting in the car, but when they were running away and he pick them up, we could only see 5 members!! and the 6th member is driving.
You guys hugging is the cutest thing ever!!!
I want to see you 3 together again,,, please Josh!!
your guys theories were so good!!
I thought after 100 times i will watch it without emotions, BUT you guys back it to me, i had goosebumps
7:18 i just watched ur vid again after a long time and you knew about the LOVE YOUR SELF msg *insane*
Wow. That was the best reaction video I've ever seen in all of the internet.
You guys have like the best reactions! definitely one of my favourite channels!
I like it when people not just react to BTS MV but they do analyze too... Your reactions are *DAEBAK*, guys!
