I love those "never gonna skip a cutscene again " vids goin around 😆
I just adore the Tekken 8 one
@cyberninjazero5659 yea, that 1 was too funny 😁
I actually did this myself when I first got to the gold saucer thinking it was just a "wow look at how cool it is!" and then immediately was thrust into a bizarre minigame. I finished the game without even knowing there was a dance number in that cutscene I missed.
@@LucasCarter2why would you skip cutscenes in an rpg that you haven't played before.
@@SciontheDarkI don't know it felt like the cutscene was over and it was about to transition to third person :(
The audio mixing thing is weird because it's not even a mixing issue, they just forgot to put the "end fight music" triggers on the quests.
A thing to note with synergy skills/abilities:
building atb can be slow going solo from one character, then to the other. The remedy to that is the free synergy skills.
Example; it’s slow to build for cloud, then switch to barret and build him, but it’s faster for both to use bullet batter, as it builds atb for both of them on use
Me reading this after finishing makes me rage
@@dereknyberg9540 update: bullet batter (or reds identical skill howling smash) are my favorite thing, and basically my main auto combo on cloud.
You can combo into and out of the different modes for cloud with them, since each mode has a different bullet batter (3x quick shots in operator, 1x slower, harder shot in punisher), and mode swapping while using bullet batter also shoots a bullet itself.
This has basically removed disorder for me. You can loop with 3x bullet batter, mode swap to punisher, 1x batter, swap back to operator, and repeat.
You can also bullet batter midair, so you can do midair 3x, dodge or auto combo, bullet batter and repeat.
@@dereknyberg9540The tutorial window straight up tells you this.
I hope that next time they talk about FF7 rebirth, they talk a little about red’s new voice. You do get used to it, especially as it was clearly intentional to make it feel off at first, but it’s hard not to miss the original voice. Fun fact though, both voices are the same VA. Max Mittleman has range
Doubt. Woolie has to catch up
@@TheShockVoxoh dang, optimistically that means it’ll come up at least a month from now
He'll probably beat integrate in. 6 months
Spoilers dude.
I really liked the voice in the first game :(
I didn’t play the demo, and my immediate reaction to THAT opening was, “Wait was this in the demo? I feel like everyone would have talked about this!” and I realized it was a new scene.
Cloud trying to talk to NPCs and barret is behind him with a bomb box on his shoulder
I know you meant boombox, but the idea of Barret just casually carrying a bomb on his shoulder is funny.
So I've been replaying remake and I realized the secret to unlocking weapon skills fast is that USING the weapon skill was what unlocked it. You can have the skill unlocked in as fast as 3-4 fights if you're actively using it.
yeah you absolutely have to use them to unlock them, and they go faster if you meet the requirements for the proficiency bonus. i have no idea where pat's getting 3-4 hours out of that, the only time it took me hours to learn one is when aerith left the party for a while just after i'd stolen a new weapon for her from a boss.
that said, it _does_ still feel like they get mastered sooner in rebirth.
It still definitely took longer than it does in Rebirth
"OH MAN THE OTHER CHARACTERS ARE ALSO FIGHTING IN THE BACKGROUND"
Xenoblade 3: Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh hi.
That's different since all 6 characters can be controlled and are actually in the battle in 3, meanwhile in Rebirth, the characters not in your party are on the literal edge of the battlefield doing very miniscule damage.
@@anthonychessar7179 I'm aware. There's some on Twitter using it to seriously dunk on Rebirth, but I only mean to jab at it.
Both are great games.
FYI: clear data not required for the demo reward. Just having it installed and a save is enough
Same goes for the Remake and Intergrade rewards.
I may be a little bias as FF7 is my favourite game of all time but god damn, this feels like one of the most complete open world experiences in a while. No wonder it has such a large install, every area is unique down to very small details and textures, the amount of assets and ingame variety is insane. Just finished Golden Saucer and am loving the experience so far.
Quick shout out to Kalm as well! Every town has such a unique atmosphere, and calm feels straight ripped from Studio Ghibli's European town design. It's real gorgeous to just wander around and look at.
There's a mechanic to safeguard against at least initiating limit breaks and other abilities where bosses going into their next phase will have a shield icon over them to indicate that they're not taking damage anymore until a cutscene happens.
Im so happy. im not the only one with audio mixing issues. I thought my tv was the problem
Pat: “Kalm is bigger than Dalmasca and any FF16 town”
I don’t understand how Pat could come to this conclusion. Kalm is like a 1 Main Street and a couple of backstreets. It’s the same size as a lot of FF16 towns. Did it just seem big at first and Pat’s brain never updated when he saw the actual size? I’m not criticizing him or the game; I’m just confused as to how.
He’s probably also counting the grasslands as part of Kalm
Kalm definitely *felt* larger. The environmental artists did a great job of conveying that you were exploring a chunk of a larger city.
...no idea how he thinks it's bigger than fucking Dalmasca though. Maybe because it was split into different sections?
He's talking about the Grasslands.
😞 I miss Dalmasca
He's just excited
Unfortunately you do NOT get to choose your date if party members are tied for top affinity, from what I've heard. In that scenario the game pulls out a default event.
Who's the default?
There is a priority list to break ties. Tifa is at the top.
@@Oliander712 Where she belongs
Damn. That seems annoyingly inconvenient that you basically have to skip stuff with characters or even avoid their sidequests until post-date to try and skew it towards what you want. Call me a softie but I have a hard time being mean to anyone, I don't want to skip conversations, and I like to complete zones before moving on.
I thought you got Da Bois (Vincent, Cid and Cait) if too many people were tied. Moreover Tifa and Aerith have a tie breaker if you got all their other affinity in the form of you who pick to help in the Costa Del Sol battle.
It's a little further in, but when he gets there I want to hear Woolie's reaction to the most JoJo character I have ever seen in a Final Fantasy game.
Which character?
@@wielderofthetriforce1934 Gus is absolutely absurd in this
Ah, good old Gus, voiced by Jonah Scott.
(Fun thing, Team Four Star did a quick little JoJo abridged mini series, and he played Iggy in it)
Yeah, definitely the most Jojo character in the game @@User5770
no seriously which one, i can think of 3 off the top of my head.
@@User5770 I legit had to look up who you’re talking about cuz not only did I forget his name but they also changed it from the original (Mr. Coates)
Game's real good man, I'm in Chapter 8 and while I could nitpick some stuff pretty much everything had been nailed thus far IMO. Shout out to the Midgar 7th Infantry.
I’m torn on (chapter 6 ending)
Beach Hojo. On the one hand it makes sense for the encounter to be a much bigger, more serious deal. On the other, something about how out of pocket it was for him to just be in vacation and that was it was a different kind of charming.
I'm here post pat doing carnival cards laughing that he doesn't really understand queens blood yet.
Every time he calls it condor tower I die a little inside
Is he saying it wrong, that's the way I've heard pronounced my whole life?
@@therockinist9586It's called "Fort Condor" lol
Not all abilities give you a pip of synergy. Those abilities that let characters cast elemental magic without using MP or using materia don't build up your synergy gauge. You can even see this in the skill menu during battle, most abilities and spells show a little pip next to their description to indicate they build synergy and the no MP elemental magics don't have the icon
i want queensblood to exist in reality. currently playing it.
Barrett's never been stronger why would you ever take him out
Bonus Round my beloved
Throw on Plasma Discharge and spamming Uppercut and Overcharge just turns him into a continuous explosion.
all of the characters are strong including Aeriths slow ATB ass.
Currently rocking Tifa and Yuffie. Basically no defense but they have the tools to handle pretty much any situation. Yuffie’s elemental ninjitsu makes her a mage without having to use mp and Tifa is the stagger queen.
17:20 holy fuck how did he predict that
Lmao, I feel vindicated by Pat talking about the audio. It was so distracting to me that I turned everything but voices down a little. Currently, music and songs are on 8/10, but I've still had one or two scenes that felt too loud.
Pat is NOT kidding. This is your last warning, DO NOT SKIP ANYTHING throughout this game from start to finish, unless you like being hit with the Confused debuff.
The game IMMEDIATELY goes 120mph into the cooky crazy hype shit from the START. And places ARE ACTUALLY bigger, some more than others.
Even not skipping any cutscenes, the intro is like "WHAT". Something up with Time over there it seems.
Red cant attack flying opponents? You sure about that? Cause ive seen him launch enemies into the god damn stratosphere
so i guarantee pat hasnt played ever crisis or first soldier which is funny since the guy from both of those pops up in rebirth
glenn
I'm so mad that I'm going to play ever crisis and Kingdom Hearts Missing Link in the same year
@@Vanity0666 I'd be mad too
Queens blood is too big brain for me... 😭😭
If Queens Blood is too big brained for you, the programmable robot minigame might actually give you an aneurysm
I still cant believe Woolie figured out how to play Tetra Master
@@fable23the trick to that is just the auto loadout button. Also if you turn the game to easy that and fort condor actually become easier too apparently.
I'm going to have to agree with Pat about the difficulty. It was literally one of my biggest issues with Remake. The difficulty in this game is perfect, I find myself often times retrying fights just to get better at them. Something that in Remake, I basically just wanted fights to get over with and blasted through them like nothing. So kudos to Rebirth
Queen's Blood really is great, should be added to FF14.
Can't wait for the third game where Cloud is summoned by God along with Chadley in order to save the souls of humans before Sephiroth explodes the planet in 7 days
And then they go to real life Earth where Cloud rides a train to France
Destiny is destiny.
godfucking dammit
You forgot where the Gods are revealed to be the REAL villains, and Sepiroth and Cloud team up to stick it to them.
@@TheMilhouseExperience well duh that's just a given, Bhunivelze moment
yeah the audio balance is weird.
Im glad people are enjoying it, I personally really didnt enjoy the gameplay of remake so Im not invested in Rebirth. Yes I play through till completion but the gameplay never really hooked me and the gameplay upgrades only seem to hook deeper in the parts I didnt like.
I'm playing on performance, up to the 5th region. Regions 1,2, 3 and 5 run damn near flawlessly but the game noticeably struggles in the 4th region. Nothing major, short but frequent slowdown due to the entire region being so visually dense.
I don't have much experience with Ps5 games yet and my TV is ancient so I literally can't tell the difference in graphics mode. That said, just like in Remake there are some horrendously low quality textures (seen some doors worse than the infamous one in Remake) but I'll live with it for the 60 fps
Outside character action i can usually settle for 30 but I jusr can't bring myself to replay Remake. The whole game feels so slow outside of combat. Swinging and opening a chest take so much longer than necessary in particular. In addition to making much less use of squeezing through tight spaces or slow walking parts, Rebirth in performance feels so much better in motion in every way. Remake was the greatest game I'll never replay (on ps4 anyway) because it felt so slow, Rebirth looks better (except Cloud's face) and feels infinitely better
EVERYONE!!!
Pat was full of shit about performance mode, the game's barely 30fps without it in the majority of situations.
Yeah he’s nuts. Performance has never once dipped below 60 meanwhile graphics is just so sluggish. He’s also over exaggerating how much of a res-drop it is.
I am willing to admit Queen's Blade is better than Triple Triad. But so is Tetra Master. TMs only real issue is rule obfuscation but I would rather play 10 games of that than 2 of triple triad
Absolutely highest tier ragebait I've ever seen in my entire life.
Guaranteed by the end either Aerith won't die so everyone can act like doing the most obvious predictable subversion ever is somehow brave and clever or, what I think is more likely, she will die, but they will have their cake and eat it too where she will still be alive in an alt timeline, or even stick around as a full on ghost and her dying really won't matter because we can just replace her or fix her with multiverse bullcrap
People talk about the graphics mode being so much better and the resolution is but as far as i can tell it doesn't fix the mostly bad textures which kills the point of having the higher resolution for me.
Pretty vistas go brrrrrrr
Mixing FF7's story with an alternate time/dimension storyline doesnt work for me at all, cause those 2 stories aren't complimentary to each other. They're thematically very different, but most of the game is redoing the original story.
I tried playing the demo, but it just felt hollow. Cause I couldnt stop thinking "this isnt the story they want to tell. Why are they pretending it is?"
And it just comes off as hollow nostalgia to me, until they get to the real story they want to tell (the time travel/dimension one)
The amount of tutorials that pop up literally every 10 seconds in this game makes me want to put my head through a wall.
Do it coward you won't
The Rebirth discussions are going to get a lot better when the new game honeymoon period is over, and people actually look at the game's long-lasting faults and come to a reasonable conclusion on its state. 45 hours in and I've got a laundry list of issues, and it all starts with gongaga.
Just sounds like you don't like the new content....whatever.
If people's genuine criticisms of the first game are still getting written off as "you just hate new things," I doubt that's ever going to happen.
its pretty good and im feeling alot more positive on this than i was with Remake but yeah, i gotta agree
game's side content can be fun but im absolutely in awe of some of the takes that this is what all FF should be from now on, the open world stuff starts losing its luster around Corel imo
82 hours in and yeah Gongaga takes a bit to get used to. But i adore the game as a whole
@@Ketsuekisan ....not really. I expect criticism will be somewhat similar to Remake, but much more if not entirely focused on the new story bits.(specifically Zack scenes and the ending) ......Also, we're not talking about Remake, we're talking about Rebirth. Which is a VERY different game from that first one.
People like Due Recompense?!
where have _you_ been the last four years? (it's not as good as collapsed expressway but it's a good track)
Just put the whole episode on TH-cam please
Correction: Backline characters don't do damage. They just have idle animations that LOOK like they're attacking.
Like.
I thought it was really funny that dunkeys review completely ignored all the weird multiverse sht
really hoping for a seperate spoiler video eventually cos that will be even funnier
Dunkey made a video of it before he even beat the game as far as I know and the multiverse shit doesn't really get explained AT ALL until the final chapter.
Finished the game yesterday and realised that for better or worse Tetsuya Nomura cannot be stopped anymore (great game, but new stuff is convoluted, story and side activities drags its length to an annoying degree)
Nojima directed this one I think, it's actually been reported Nomura has been the one being more conservative about keeping the plot the same as the original, it's everyone else that's doing all the crazy changes.
@@alexanderson4497People give Nomura so much undue crap.
This is all Nojima's doing. He is the one that wrote the convoluted novel that tied the original game with advent children, and that they based this plot on.
@@barkon34 He is also responsible for the atrocious FFX-2.5 Novella that got shit on years ago, a lot of the stuff people hate about modern FF more than likely comes from him, Nomura has his own issues but Nojima has been flying under the radar on his problems.
Nomura is not the main director of Rebirth nor is he the writer (Nojima is). Nomura's role is the Creative Director but with Kitase and Nojima still being his superior (and them wanting the changes in 7 Remake) its a real push and pull over who approved or budged on what different thing. Needless to same, it's not Nomura every fucking time something like this happens.
I haven't started Rebirth because going back and replaying Remake is how padded out alot of the scenarios were in the game. It really killed my enjoyment and experience because I did enjoy the combat.
Dumb comment just ran through remake for the first time a week ago for rebirth and it's abundantly clear remake is the linear Midgar section and rebirth is the open world section of the original.
@@wardy4903 you literally just proved my point. Remake just has bad pacing issues cause it’s just padded out Midgar
Ya, I 100% agree. There are a few parts I dread replaying.
Combat kinda sounds like FF12 but instead of clunking together gambits the game just makes your AI partners good lol.
I DON'T HAVE 40 MINUTES TO SPEND DO THEY TALK ABOUT HOW FORT CONDOR MAKES BARRET WHITE
thank god we got a warning for spoilers on a remake of a game from 1997 that didnt change the trjectory of the franchinces going foward that story and most iconic scences havent been plastered all over the internet
dont wanna spoil the plot since the remake is changing it for the lols
people have been born since 1997, shocker i know.
I don't fucking care what anyone says and I never will. I hate- hate, *hate* that Remake wasn't a remake. I hate this entire new saga, I hate that it's a sequel, I hate that it's a fake in-universe "happening again but different" thing.
I want a remake. I WANT a remake. I want a REAL remake. I don't care if I sound like a pissbaby, I'll embrace the toddler tantrum stamping my feet and yelling, I don't give a shit. I *WANT* a remake of Final Fantasy 7 which retells the original story beat for beat with updated presentation. I WANT an Re4 remake for FF7.
I dont fucking care, I don't fucking care, I'll NEVER like this new saga. I WANT a real remake.
Cool story bro.
Don't known what to tell you bud, while the case could be made for part 1. Part 2 has literally been almost just the same story beats with only slight intersections of "different" stuff, far less than Remake. And aside from "different" stuff, there's also "new" stuff that improves the overall experience so much more than a shot-for-shot remake.
Cope
@@ghostspartan81 angy 😡
remake - definition - to produce something again or the other one, To make a new film that has a story and title similar to an old one
