A totally different set of rules - and skills - than flying here in the USA. I know I never learned the skills that you demonstrate every video, and I have a commercial/instrument ticket with thousands of hours (single engine Piper Arrow III). I don't think I would have, could have, imagined being that close to terrain and clouds on an everyday occurance. I really admire both your flying skills, judgement and videography. 🛩👍
Thanks. It is normal to feel uncomfortable with terrain and clouds at first, bit after you see how they move and operate here, you eventually get used to them and just work with them
@@MissionaryBushPilot Always great to watch your videos, I also fly. It's a crazy idea, but it would be so much fun to pack up my VR Flight sim gear including solar panels etc and set it up in a little shack in one of the villages you fly to. Can you imagine the awe and smiles of local kids piloting the MSFS2020 Kodiak in VR, departing and landing at their airstrip, or exploring the rest of the world in MSFS... Stay safe, blue skies !
@@MissionaryBushPilot That's all good for the clouds, but those mountains don't move and I get nervous sitting here in my house watching you. I admire your skill and professionalism, sir.
Boring at watching flight clips from tampa to orlando , I found this gem . Wowwww .... here you are ON your own . ... a real flight warrior. Really amused with the video. Congrats .
This has to rank as one of your best-ever videos. Lots of fascinating cultural details, and a flight that shows the world just how skilled you are as a pilot. The PNG people and your organization are so fortunate to have someone with your talent and dedication serving them.
I was at SunN Fun last week, went into the Daher Booth and told then they better be sponsoring you. Best Marketing for the Kodiak is this Channel and your piloting skills. They owe you! 😉

That’s not poverty. They have fertile fields and crops and the children do not look malnourished. Provided the community is good, they may be better off than many with more possessions. Health is probably a challenge when things go wrong, of course, which is why the clinic is important and why access to hospitals through the plane service is probably a great blessing.
Phewww this is better than going to the movies- and it's all real. My stomach muscles can relax now. Ryan you are the bestest ( is that a word?) Ever!! And your communication skills are exceptional.
Thanks Ryan for showing this flight from Gema to Menyamya. I liked the on the ground content including the health station for so many people! The take-off was quite cool as was the impressive cruise over the mountains between the layers of clouds. What an awesomely relaxed landing including a quick glimpse at the signature at the head of the runway at Menyamya. God bless and stay safe!
Ryan, great video, thanks for the on the ground content. Its good that people can see what P.N.G. is really like, people still don't believe a lot of these bush strips were & still are made with picks , shovels & sharp sticks & a lot of hard work over many years. Thanks for the ride & memories
I like watching your flights. Very professional. I like how you plan for the worst, constantly preping for emergency procedures. Very beautiful part of the world. One of the last places to be touched by "civilization" in the whole world.
I have been in the sky maybe 10 times , with two different flyers getting license to fly. and I got the feeling of the air plane . well great job again Ryan showing and telling have a great one take care see ya bye.
Great flight, PNG is so beautiful. You are such a blessing to those folks over there. You also have a very big heart. I love your videos and my wife and I pray for your safety and your family. Be blessed and thank you for your service. I know they really appreciate you.
I was actually looking for the approach lights as you got closer to the surface. Then I started looking for the runway/dirt strip. I finally realized you're actually landing on a grass field. That's some good flying brother!

Awesome video Ryan! As a pilot myself, I certainly enjoy the flight portions of your videos, but something that makes your channel unique is the region you fly, and the people. I really enjoy that added content of your interactions with the wonderful people there. When I get to Heaven, I want to do what you do for a few thousand years or so...

Hi Ryan!!! Really great flying skills, planning, calculating and most important your natural judgement when it comes to fly, thanks for sharing and helping out people!
Not so many likes on this video, but for me while I really enjoy the flying technical content of your videos, this video shows the flying humanitarian side of what you (and the others like you) do for these people. On a EU flight I recently got let off the excess baggage charge for and extra 2kg of Turkish Delight and was "well pleased". You let a lady off the charge for some thing that will really make the differance to her and her family. Good on you and a thumbs up from me!
Really appreciate what your doing to help and assist people in rural areas of PNG. Very skilled flying also. Thumbs up Ryan 👍👍, I'm a regular follower of your channel, love all your videos. 🙏❤ Godspeed and Safe skies ahead

May God bless you and yours for the duration of your flying and everything else ya’ll do... Stay safe! Quick note... I have actually met Austin Meyers of X Plane (and his parents!) years ago when he flew into what was then my local airfield in Greenville, SC...
An excellent clip, from the tour of the village, a demo of your tok pisin skills, to the crazily steep departure runway and the carefully monitored, cautious scud-running without which bush flying in PNG would be impossible..
Nice to get a view of the village and also to hear a little Tok Pisin, I picked up some words in your small talk. I learned some words when I was i PNG some 20+ years ago, where I also made a flight from Karawari Lodge to Tari, we had to circle around to find a hole in the clouds and between the mountain peaks.
I've been watching your videos for quit some time and to see the compassion that you have for those folks is so heart warming , its a huge gift from god .. god bless you

Loved the on ground clip! (you should put more of these shots in your films) Great to see the woven bamboo walls of the village houses again, my first house in Komperi was done this way back in the 60's
Thanks for the vid -- the on-the-ground stuff at Gema (sp?) was particularly interesting. That is some rough territory! And then there was that itty-bitty opening over a ridge, thru it, and then the whole valley opened up. Amazing! Great flight!

What I wonder is if there's a way to contribute directly to these people? A little bit of support could go a very long way for these communities.
